Dark Orb

Ciel received a dark orb. He did not know what to do with it, but most importantly, he was at a place where there were many humans in there. But then, he remembered that he was human.

To be exact, this was the human realm. All of the memories of how this Ciel as a human had been living his life were all coming back to him bit by bit.

He was an intern in one of the biggest noodle companies in his country. An immortal vampire king in his previous life was reincarnated as a twenty-three-year-old human Still, his habit of biting women's necks almost had him put in jail.

"My king, you should eat that dark orb," The bat who kept on flying in the air spoke to him in magnetic waves. "You have to collect them so that you would acquire all the necessary knowledge that you need to have in this human realm."

"Tell me, what is the purpose of all these?" He asked the bat. "I want to go back to the vampire realm and enjoy my harem of faeys!"

"You need to make your harem of humans here in the human realm, my King,"

"What?" Ciel frowned in bewilderment. "I want you to give me an explanation behind this!"

The people in the terminal kept on looking at him with a strange look on their faces. They must have thought of him as someone who had been nuts for talking alone, all by himself.

Without any words, Ciel stared at the dark orb on his palm and started eating it. It tasted sweet, maybe even a little tarty, fresh and smooth, and was a little bit light and bouncy when being chewed. It had no distinct taste at all, but he could say that it was delicious.

"The System has given you an important task, my King," The bat said as he tried to explain to Ciel. "You have to collect all the dark orbs to be fully human, and then, you need to charm all selected human girls so that you could eradicate the vampire souls who are living in their bodies and save the human realm."

Ciel said in a small voice as he started to walk on his way outside the terminal. "Why do I need to save the human realm when I do not even care about it?"

"Well, starting today, you might have to start caring about the human realm," The bat communicated with him as it continued to fly right next to him. "The system might like you to come back to the vampire realm if you successfully----"

"Oh shit," Ciel mumbled. "I am so going to be late for work!"

And with that one last line, Ciel started sprinting and went out of the terminal. The stairs that he had to climb made him feel like he was on his way to heaven.

With his feet guiding him where he was going, he immediately went to the nearest 20-story building that he saw.

Wave F & B was the company's name that Ciel was working for, and he confirmed it when he looked at his ID. As he went inside the company, he found a portion of employees swiping their IDs with it.

With confidence, he walked near it and scanned his ID. Then, as if he had already done this a million times, he went inside the company and stood in front of the elevator, waiting for one to come.

It was the most natural thing to do, and because of the dark orb that he had earlier, he knew what to do, for now.

In just a few seconds, other employees came and stood next to him as they were waiting for an elevator to arrive. The three hundred square meter building with six floors seemed to be quite spacious and ordinary looking.

The woman, who stood next to him, eyed him like a burglar about to steal things from the company. He then nodded to her as an acknowledgement as the elevator opened up, and he went inside along with three other employees.

It was quiet and a bit awkward. Ciel was still in the process of understanding the situation that he was in and what kind of world he had to adapt to. He sighed as he noticed that they were the only ones left as the management department is on the fourth floor of the building.

"Are you not the new intern hired by the company as a management trainee?" The woman asked him with a smile.

Ciel nodded as he glanced at her. She had a pretty face, straight eyebrows, puppy-like eyes, a thin nose, and lips. Her long wavy hair was pulled back in a ponytail. A white long-sleeved shirt and pencil skirt hugged her gorgeous curves, and a pair of high heels perfectly matched her legs.

"Yes, I am," Ciel politely answered. He still did not know what to do and expect from this. He wanted to find that bat and tell him what he should do next to receive dark orbs and fully understand how to charm all the women in the human realm and eradicate every vampire soul living in their bodies.

He does not even have an indicator of them, so how would he find out that a vampire soul is living in the women's body?

"My king, you were a vampire in your previous life," The bat spoke in his mind as if it existed inside him. "You would know it. Your eyes can see the bite marks on their necks as that indicates the beginning of vampire souls invading human bodies----"

"Intern!" The woman, who seemed to have been a member of the marketing department, called him out as she said. "How can you be spacing out so early in the morning?"

Ciel was so lost in his thoughts that he blinked twice in surprise. The elevator was about to close, and he immediately went out of the elevator as fast as possible.

The woman was just as surprised as he was, but she laughed as she held her iced americano drink in her right hand.

"I have never seen such a funny intern like you," The woman remarked as he extended her left arm and said. "Nice to meet you, Ciel. I am Kei, and I am the team leader of the marketing department."

Kei, the team leader of the marketing department, looked gorgeous. She was the epitome of a confident woman who knows what she wants and prioritizes her goals.

But then, Ciel does not care. All he had to do was to know if she belongs to the girls that had the vampire souls living in them or not.

He had to know about her identity.

Ciel kept on eyeing her shirt as he took a step forward and held the hem of her shirt, unbuttoning the top button of it with a faint smile.

"You are already beautiful enough, team leader," Ciel commented. "But I think it would be better to expose a bit of your collarbone---" He eyed her neck and saw the bite marks of a vampire in it.
