"Wait! Before anything else, what is my mission?" I quickly asked as I noticed he was about to start telling a long story.

System stopped and faced me.

"Short on patience, are we? Well, your mission is to become stronger," said the Dark Slime, as if it was smirking.

I hugged myself, feeling my hair stand on end!

"Just get strong, okay? Then I'll continue," he said, turning away, and I immediately followed.

"A long time ago, this world was once peaceful. It was even more peaceful than now. There was no leveling system back then; such a lifestyle wasn't required," he said.

"A long time ago, a portal opened in the sky, and monsters from the Abyss attacked. The Abyss is a demon realm that spawns wild and evil monsters. Compared to the monsters here, they have no intelligence and only know how to kill," he added, suddenly facing me.

I swallowed hard as he turned back around and continued.

"That's all."

I grimaced.

"What?! That's all you're going to tell me?! I need more details about this world!" I shouted, and he faced me again. I could sense he was bored.

"Now, it's time to start and claim your legacy, Clint Alnyr Moon," he said, snapping his slime hand.

Wait, how did he snap his fingers when he's a slime? I screamed as something suddenly sucked me in.

"Aah! System, what's happening?! Where are you?!" I shouted and closed my eyes until I suddenly fell in the middle of a forest, with a hologram appearing in front of me.

[Location: Emberglow Forest]

"Bonjour!" System appeared in his round form.

"What's your problem?!" I angrily asked, trying to grab him but only ended up falling flat on my face.

"By the way, no one can hear or see me except you, so let's go and get out of this forest," he said, and I stood up in frustration.

What the hell is with this System?! They didn't even explain what a system is and what it's for! Sigh!

"Hurry up! You're so slow! You're a crybaby and slow too!" he said.

"Hey! You said earlier, I'm your host! So I'm the boss here, so respect me!" I shouted angrily, feeling his eye-roll.

"Whatever! Now, start leveling, crybaby!" he said, and I heard rustling in the grass as a deer appeared.

I frowned.

"You expect me to attack that innocent deer?" I asked, pointing at the deer.

I jumped back in shock as it nearly cut off my finger.

"That's a deer monster, idiot. Be careful, crybaby," System smirked.

I cursed and started running. Damn! How is this deer so fast?! It quickly caught up to me, and its once gentle appearance turned terrifying. It's still small but much scarier now.

"You know, you shouldn't run from blessings. Level up, dude," System appeared.

"Ah, shut up! Go away!" I shouted, trying to hit him, but I didn't notice the root and tripped.

I noticed my stamina decrease and the deer leapt at me. I quickly grabbed a stick, which it bit into, and I fell back.

"Shit! Shit! Shit! Help me, System!" I shouted in desperation.

I screamed louder as its teeth grazed my cheek! F*ck! Why is it so strong?! I didn't expect that when I kicked the deer, I saw its status.

F*ck! I faced the deer, gripping the stick tightly. I took a deep breath and watched the deer prepare to attack.

I need to end this!

"Aaahhh!" I screamed as I charged, and so did the deer.

"Idiot! You have a gun, right?"

I snapped out of it at System's words, throwing the stick away. I quickly reached into my inventory, loaded the gun, and smirked at the deer.

Headshot! I sat down, panting as the deer collapsed. It's definitely dead because a hologram appeared. I almost died; good thing I had the gun. Phew, I almost cried.

"There you go again with the crying! Hurry up and collect the rewards," System said, appearing in front of me.

I was still catching my breath. I looked at the deer, wait! Why did it disappear? I only see floating gold, deer skin, and horns.

"Those are rewards. After collecting the loot, check your status," System said.

I smiled as I lay down, staring at the two suns. Hoo! Worth it! I think I'm starting to enjoy my life here.

"Your leveling up is quick. That's odd," he said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Nothing."

I suddenly thought, wait! Why don't I feel the curse?! I sat up suddenly, and System, who was on my forehead, got flung off.

"Hey! What's your problem?!" he said in a high-pitched voice.

"System? Analyze me, why can't I feel the curse?" I asked.

"Ah, that? Me being your system froze your curse as long as we're together, so there's nothing to worry about," he said.

I couldn't hold back my tears and tried to hug him, but I just passed through and fell face-first.

"You're crying again? Yuck!" he said, and I wiped my tears.

"Thank you, System. By the way, are you male or female?" I asked.

"Of course I'm male! Don't you feel my unique charm?!"

I just agreed rather than argue with System.

"What are we going to do next?" I asked happily. Well, my curse is gone.

"To Symbiotica City, so let's go," he said, and I followed.
