(Author's Note: Sorry for the short Hiatus, I had been buried under a bunch of schoolwork and wasn't able to write. Thanks for waiting and enjoy the chapter!)
Reverberations rocked throughout the academy. Students in their classes were wondering why dust was raining from their ceilings, but they just thought that an earthquake was happening. Many teachers rushed to the origin of these tremors, but when they found out that it was the training room that Blackwood was in, they just let them be.
<Elaine's POV>
Inside the training room, Elaine was watching a magnificent, mind-breaking scene.
Taiga was perfectly blocking and parrying all of the attacks that Blackwood made with his "Demon Slayer" sword that had tasted the blood of thousands of demons, with his bare arms!
If she were describe it, she would compare it to a ballet. The flashes of light that came when their attacks connected, the booms created from the shockwaves that shook the magically enhanced walls to their cores, and the beauty of their performance, as it was the most enchanting duel that Elaine had ever seen.
It was a battle between Blackwood's rough, but polished and extremely powerful, "World Breaking" sword style and Taiga's martial arts, which Elaine could only describe as eerily beautiful, a style that flowed like water as light as the wind, but was also sharp, precise, and deadly, with no superfluous movements and with only practicality in mind.
To be honest, her eyes couldn't cope with the speed that they were moving at, and she could only make out the fight from the afterimages that they left behind.
<Taiga's POV>
In the arena, I was still looking for an opening. I had tried to beat Blackwood through superior techniques alone, but it seemed like every time I tried to stab or cut him with my hands, it just bounced off of his skin instead of actually harming him.
Now, seeing that even though I'm hitting him, but that nothing is happening to him, I tried to just add more power behind each attack because at this rate, I would have to use my 3rd or 4th hidden form.
Deciding that it was dangerous to the academy if the battle dragged out, I got into position for my 3rd hidden form.
Seeing that I was trying to try something new, Blackwood sped up and started putting more power into his attacks, although I could tell that this was a final desperate push. It seemed that I had more stamina than him, as I could probably still go on for another day, which strengthened the fact that I was already more powerful than him.
"Gentle Wind, third hidden form, blood hurricane."
This move was supposed to be used on a large number of enemies, but I had compressed it so that it would pierce his skin. After I finished the move, I didn't even glance back, as I knew that I had defeated him.
<Elaine's POV>
In the observation room, Elaine was dumbfounded. She had already seen that Blackwood was steadily losing ground to Taiga and knew that he would eventually lose, but she hadn't expected such a brutal ending.
All she saw was Taiga standing in front of Blackwood and then he was standing behind him, as if he teleported. Nothing happened for a second, but then, a force slammed into the walls and the observation glass causing cracks to appear on both structures, and making Elaine jump.
A second after the mysterious force hit the walls, hundreds of wounds appeared on Blackwood, and a bloody mist sprayed into the air from the multiple wounds on his body, instantly covering the entire room, creating a red fog.
Then the last thing that she saw before she passed out from shock, was an unconscious Blackwood falling onto his knees, and then falling face first into the ground.
<Taiga's POV>
I hadn't expected him to be hurt this badly, as his skin had really been hard, harder than my arms which had blocked the best sword in the country.
I started to use holy magic to heal him, as I thought that he would like to keep his reputation and not reveal that he had been beaten by a mere first year student.
I also wiped his memories of the whole fight.
This had been a technique that I had developed back when I was 13. It was after I had trained in precision and had been able to control and move electricity through mana. As electricity wasn't something that mana was capable of producing and there weren't any traces of modern civilization in this world yet, I could only use they tiny amounts of electricity that all living things made naturally in their bodies.
By amplifying this electricity in my body, I could create pretty powerful lightning bolts, but at the cost of a large amount of mana, although this wasn't really a problem with my "Large Mana Pool" skill.
After I had mastered the process of amplifying this electricity, I also experimented with controlling the electricity in the brains of animals and then eventually humans (Note: these were all bandits and criminals that I had caught, that were hiding in the Great Forest.) and learned how to manipulate the flow of the electricity in the neurons of the brain.
Using this technique, I could effectively erase a part of a person's memory by stopping electrical signals from reaching a part of the brain were a certain memory was stored.
'I guess I'll just tell him later that he won and that he had just used too much mana after being worn down from me blocking all of his attacks. Also, I healed all of his wounds, so he should be confidant in the fact that I had inflicted no damage on him, and I would still be considered a genius after blocking all of those attacks with my bare hands anyways, so its a win-win for everyone!'
After 30 minutes of intensive treatment, I considered him as good as new, and left him in the training room, as I didn't want to make him lose his reputation, and I also wanted to keep my strength a secret.
I walked into the observation room and picked up the unconscious Elaine, wiped her memory, and swung her over my back. I then proceeded to go to our room and layed her onto the bed.
I had decided to wipe her memory to because I still couldn't trust her from the fact that she seemed to be a pretty high up noble, meaning that she would either use me to further her position, or if she was loyal to the crown, she would probably report me, which wouldn't be favorable for me too.
'Although I'm not sure, the crown probably knows about the existence of the hero already, meaning that they know that a demon lord will appear, so there could be spies in the academy that were there to report potential demon lord candidates back to the crown, and I wasn't sure if Elaine was one of them or not, so I just had to be cautious, as I had learned the hard way what would happen if I didn't back on Earth."
Shoving these worries aside, I decided to go to sleep.
When I woke up the next morning, Elaine was still out cold, so I decided to report her sick in homeroom.
As I was laying my head down on my desk, waiting for class to start, Kyle walked up to me.
'Uggggh, why the fuck do I have to deal with this in the morning," I moaned inwardly in my head.
"Hey retard, I'm telling you right now, if you don't drop out of Blackwood's class, I'll kill hurt you everyday and kill all of your family members."
...
...
...
"HEY BASTARD! RESPOND TO ME WHEN I SPEAK!"
...
...
...
I felt mana gathering above my head, so at the last second, I moved my head to the side, acting like I was just changing sleeping positions, and a second later, Kyle's mana infused fist punched a hole in the desk where my head was.
I lifted my head and kept acting, trying to provoke him more, "Yawwwwwwwn, huh, were you talking to me?" I said in the most mocking tone I could muster right now.
Hearing the snickers around the class, Kyle was about to launch another attack, but then the teacher came into the room.
"Number 2! Stop gathering mana right now and sit back down in your desk!"
"Tccchh," Kyle left with an unpleased expression on his face, as even though he was from a really high ranking family, he still had to follow the teacher's orders as they were in the academy right now.
"Also, Number 2 will have to pay for the damage done to school property and will have to clean the dormitory bathrooms three times a week for an entire month. Let this be a warning for you all, don't break they schools rules, especially the one about not harming a classmate unless in a sparring session or a duel!"
This warning informed the class that they were responsible for all of their actions, no matter what background they came from.
I could basically hear the fuming and curses in Kyle's mind that was directed at the teacher right now.
'Ahhhh, I would have paid 100 gold coins just to see that face.'
After the disturbance in the morning, nothing else of note happened during the rest of the day and night finally came.
