Crimson Dragon Blast

A thunderous roar echoed through the forest as Ran faced off against a monstrous chimera during his training. The beast had three heads - a lion, a tiger and a bear - along with four clawed limbs and several thrashing tails.

"Don't call for reinforcements now," Ran muttered as the chimera bellowed. Sato had tasked him with slaying this creature alone before teaching Ran a new skill.

Ran had progressively modified his golden sword over the past weeks, raising its level from +13 to +15. Normally that should be impossible, but his secret system allowed bending such limits. Outwardly though, the sword still appeared +13 to hide its true capabilities.

Through intense training, Ran had also heightened his dragon bloodline sensitivity. For now, it granted him rapid healing, but Sato promised more abilities would awaken soon. Ran's modification system had boosted his sword mastery too, though his soul force reserves constrained how much he could enhance at once.

Ran reminded himself - "I need to focus on leveling up. Mastering my bloodline, unlocking my Haki, expanding my soul force - that's how I'll become supreme."

For now, he had a chimera to slay. As the beast flapped its wings and flew at Ran with deadly speed, he spun and slashed with surgical precision, lopping off one of its heads in a splash of blood.

"Is that all you've got?" Ran taunted.

Enraged, the chimera's remaining heads both lunged to bite Ran from different angles. But he seamlessly dodged sideways before decapitating the tiger head in another clean strike.

The lion head roared furiously. Ran decided to finish it off with style - he leapt atop the chimera's back, then plunged his sword through its heart from behind. A final whimper escaped the beast before it collapsed dead.

Ran calmly flicked the blood off his blade. "Thank you for the valuable materials, chimera." These victories were stepping stones towards his goal.

Soon after, Sato arrived and appraised the chimera's carcass. "Expertly done, my prince! You are now ready for me to teach you a powerful long-range skill, the Crimson Dragon Blast."

Here is a continuation:

"What exactly is this Crimson Dragon Blast?" Ran asked eagerly.

Sato explained "It's one of your family's basic techniques. Without your bloodline, I can only unleash about 90% of its power."

"First understand - skills consume soulforce, so you must be judicious in using it." Ran's interest piqued at the mention of soulforce. "What is soulforce really, Uncle Sato?"

"Hmm, it's not easy to define simply. But soulforce stems from your vitality and overall physical aspects. As you expand your capacity, you grow stronger."

Ran's eyes brightened as an idea formed.

"Now, let's begin," Sato continued. "As you saw, I have wind affinity, so my version is a bit different from yours." He casually waved his hand at a tree, shredding and igniting the bark instantly.

Ran scrutinized it closely, realizing Sato had channeled his soulforce in a specific pattern. "I see - you shaped your soulforce and shot it out! The effect depends on your affinity," Ran muttered.

Sato nodded approvingly. "Yes, you must circulate your soulforce as written here in this scroll." He handed Ran an ancient parchment. "Go meditate and focus on forming the patterns. Your bloodline will guide the rest."

Ran received the scroll eagerly and found a quiet spot. He studied the arcane diagrams intensely, visualizing the channels and flows. After an hour of concentration, he felt ready.

Ran initiated the Crimson Dragon Blast, guiding his soulforce as depicted. It surged through his meridians, swirling with scorching heat before erupting from his palm as a raging fireball.

The blast incinerated a boulder, leaving only ashes. Ran panted from the effort but was thrilled. Once mastered, this technique would be incredibly powerful with his bloodline.

Sato watched the demonstration with an astounded gaze. Perhaps he had made a mistake teaching the prince this so soon. Even without full bloodline activation, the boy's raw talent exceeded imagination. Just how far would this prodigy continue to spread his wings?

He reminisced about Lord Rayleigh in their youth - it had taken Rayleigh 3 months of practice to manage even an inferior version of the skill. Yet Ran executed it nearly perfectly on his very first try!

Sato muttered to himself "Could this be due to his mother's mysterious bloodline? No member of the Seafrid family has ever shown such innate talent before."

He sighed deeply. "I cannot guide the prince's terrifying progress alone. We must hasten our journey to meet with the other Guardians for additional training."
