Waking up after a short sleep and remembering all that happened is a strange experience, it all feels like a nightmare but it isn't. It is more accurate to say that I woke up from a dream, a very pleasant dream and it's time to face reality.

It's currently 6:00 am and I am sitting on a bed in Uncle Charles's condo unit. He asked me to go home with him, at first I didn't want to but he told me to rest and he'll take care of everything so I decided to trust him. I already gave him the number that the police gave me, I just hope it helps even a little bit.

When I got out of the room to head to the kitchen to get something to eat, I heard a strange sound like a beating drum coming from the kitchen. It's a strong and consistent beat, so I opened the door and saw my uncle standing there holding a cup of coffee dazed. I can see dark circles under his eyes like he didn't sleep or he just woke up.

When he heard the door open he looked at me, smiled, and then said,

"Why are you awake at such an early time, little guy? You should sleep more or else you won't grow big and strong like me, dereshishi." He then flexed his arm and laughed.

I can hear the sound of the drum getting louder and faster and more... joyous? It's coming from Uncle Charles, I think this is Zenitsu's ability if I remember correctly he can even hear other people's thoughts if he focuses hard enough.

While I was thinking Uncle Charles approached me and put his hand on my head.

"What are you thinking so hard in the morning? come on let's have breakfast then we will go to the hospital since you are already awake."

I then looked at him carefully his back is slouched, his eyes were half opened and he has extremely dark circles under his eyes. He looked tired, has he been awake since yesterday? So I asked him,

"You didn't sleep, uncle?"

"What? I slept for a bit, just the right amount for an adult don't worry..."

He's lying... I can hear it, but I didn't call him out on it.

"... okay, let's eat."

He just smiled at me and then took bread and peanut butter from the cupboard above the kitchen sink and milk from the refrigerator. Then we went to the dining room and ate.

After we ate we got dressed and Uncle Charles called for a taxi. While we were in the taxi I checked the assimilation process of Zenitsu's card.

It's 7% and I just slept, am I really similar to Zenitsu? or is it because he is just base human? If I remember correctly they use breathing techniques to increase the oxygen intake and blood flow in the body to achieve a burst in strength for a short time. Then there is the constant breathing but you need a big lung capacity and stamina to sustain it.

How am I going to achieve that with my kiddie body?

While I was thinking Uncle Charles patted me on my shoulder.

"Hey... what are thinking so deeply about? We're already here."

"I-it's nothing..."

We then walked inside the hospital and when we reached my parent's room there is already someone inside. She is a tall person wearing a white pencil skirt and blouse with black hair and eyes.

"Oh... Thana you're already here, have you processed all of Ron's paper works?"

She is Thana dad's secretary.

"... yes, Sir Byrone finished all of his work in advance so he can celebrate his son's birthday."

She's been dad's secretary for years, I've always seen her whenever mom and I decide to visit dad in his office. She always has an emotionless face when I see her and maintained professional distance whenever mom decides to invite her to have dinner with us. But now despite her emotionless face, I can hear from her something like worry and... regret?

Wait... I can hear what she's feeling? Is it because of Zenitsu's ability? but I don't think he can hear what others are feeling... aghh... I'll think about it later.

The more important part is what I heard, I can guess why she's worried she has been dad's secretary for a long time but why regret? Regret what?

"...ill... Will... hey! Will" Then uncle tapped me again on my shoulder.

"...yes?"

"You've been dazed since morning, are you all right?"

"I-I'm fine... just thinking."

"Well don't think too hard now or your brain may crash... dereshishishi."

When we were talking to each other the doctor appeared.

"Here are the result from the X-rays and other checkups we've done and I have good news for Mr. Foundre but sadly bad news for Mrs. Foundre..."

When I heard his words I felt like a rock dropped into my heart and not just me, the mood around the room went down as well.

"Just tell it to us, straight doctor..." Uncle Charles responded voice losing the positivity it always has.

"As I've already told you Mr. Balwin It was incredibly lucky for Mr. Foundre to have been taken to the hospital immediately and for the bullets to have an exit wound so he'll only need to go through some more surgeries and stay in bed for the next few months."

That's good... he should just treat this as a break from work. If there are any complications after I'll just roll my gacha and hope to gain an item that can heal like a Senzu bean. That's right! stay positive, let's be happy that he is still alive. What're a few months anyway? It will pass in no time.

"Then Mrs. Foundre has received severe head damage that she might not wake up from some time and when she wakes up she may suffer from temporary blindness or permanent blindness."

Fuck... my mood plummeted again and I clenched my fists. 𝘐𝘧... I find that bastard responsible for this I'll 𝗴𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗲 their eyes out...

"Thank you, doctor... "

After uncle said that the doctor nodded and then left the room leaving us all in silence each having our own thoughts.
