The Silvermoon Bloodline

It was a cold and chilly day. The northern winds blew from all directions as bankets of snow covered the roofs of the Silvermoon Estate. The once fragrant flowers and translucent leaves had all turned into nothingness and was instead replaced by crystalline snowflakes which fluttered in the air.

Among the snow covered terrains, there was still a massive structure that was standing strong despite the ruthless gales hurdling at it every second. That was the almighty Silvermoon Estate.

Inside the grand mansion, within one among the thousands of rooms, there was a studious boy sitting at his desk reading through piles and piles of books. There were a few strands of pitch black hair covering his head, and his clear blue eyes highlighted his perfect facial features.

"Myra, please return these to the library and bring another set of books."

"Yes, young master." The maid bowed and left the room, holding a stack of heavy books which looked to be forty centimetres tall.

Sethos looked out of the window, and watched as the delicate snowflakes slowly floated towards the ground.

'Oh, how the seasons change so quickly. If only I could step foot outside of this stuffy room and touch the fluffy snow with my feet; if only I could feel the breeze wafting towards me; if only I could admire the scenery that stretches out far and wide.' Sethos sighed as he reminisced about the time he wandered around the martial world during his missions.

'Dear Mother Nature, when can I return to your embrace?'

Though Sethos repeated this question over and over again in his mind, in actuality, he already knew the answer himself.

*sigh*

"Se-hun, restrain yourself. Surely you wouldn't forget the tedious spy training you've gone through in order to train your patience. Besides, there's only half a month until the Mana Heart Ceremony. After that, you won't be under surveillance anymore which means you can do whatever you want without any restraints." Sethos muttered to himself.

'The only thing I can do right now is prepare myself. Even though I'll be given freedom after I reach the age of three, the potential dangers would also be several times higher.'

'For now, I should practice more basic spells so that I could protect myself without using ki. If I use martial arts out of nowhere, I would immediately attract all sorts of attention to myself and put myself into even more unfavourable situations.'

'Moreover, I should read more books on the topic of bloodlines. Though the art of modifying bloodlines had been lost in the flow of time, there are still traces of it seen in families with long histories. The Silvermoon family is no exception.'

Recently, during another trip to the library, Sethos came across a book explaining about bloodlines. Though the book was worn out and looked ordinary at first glance, the contents inside were extremely fascinating.

The Bloodline Alteration Formation - an extremely complex art that were created during the Ancient Era. As described in the title, this formation allowed mages to alter and upgrade their bloodline via various methods, and the improved DNA would be passed down to generations of their descendants. Back in the day, the procedure for this art was extremely sought after by mages due to many of their children having little to no aptitude for magic. However, as the recipe was guarded by Arthur Damaris, one of the strongest mages in history, few people actually knew how to use it. There was only demand but no supply.

Sethos was actually extremely surprised that there was such a book in the Silvermoon Estate. Information about the Bloodline Alteration Formation was already exceedingly rare to find during the ancient times, but even more so nowadays.

'It seems like the Silvermoon lineage already existed during the ancient times. One of our ancestors somehow knew the art and used it to enhance our intelligence, growth, and magic abilities. No wonder the children here are so smart.' Sethos thought to himself.

*sigh*

'Books with qualities similar to this could only be found in wealthy houses like the Silvermoon family. I should treasure the time while I'm still here and gather as much information as possible.'

*knock knock*

"Come in."

"Young master, I've brought the books you were looking for."

"Thank you, Myra. Oh, and did you receive any more information regarding the Mana Heart Ceremony this year?"

"Yes I did. This year's ceremony is going to be hosted by the Demon Abaddon. He's the fourth strongest of the entire house excluding the patriarch and he will be in charge of activating your mana hearts."

"The fourth demon, huh. So it's Gerald Silvermoon then." Sethos remarked.

"Indeed, he is also one of your father's allies. So you don't have to worry about him deliberately making things difficult for you." Myra said with a grin on her face.

"That's a relief then." Sethos replied.

The seven demons, Lucifer, Beelzebub, Satan, Abaddon, Mammon, Belphegor, and Asmodeus; were titles given to the strongest members of the Silvermoon family. Every month, the patriarch would personally host a duelling tournament for Silvermoon descendants to challenge each other. During that time, the ranks of the seven demons would also change depending on the wins and losses of the participants. Due to the many benefits and absolute respect that was given to those who hold the title, it was extremely sought after by warriors in the family.

Silvermoon House Seven Demons:

Seventh Demon - Lucifer: Syria Silvermoon

Sixth Demon - Beelzebub: Marcus Silvermoon

Fifth Demon - Satan: William Silvermoon

Fourth Demon - Abaddon: Gerald Silvermoon

Third Demon - Mammon: Astoria Silvermoon

Second Demon - Belphegor: Theseus Silvermoon

First Demon - Asmodeus: Seraphina Silvermoon

The second demon, Theseus Silvermoon, was Sethos' father. According to the information given by Myra, Theseus was an extremely righteous person who strictly followed all orders and missions given by the family regardless of the difficulty. Even if others deliberately used underhanded methods to obstruct him, he would eventually find a way to defeat them using fair and just methods. He was the extreme opposite of Seraphina Silvermoon who loved using surreptitious methods to get her way.

'It seems like I would have to be wary of Seraphina and her faction in the future.' Sethos contemplated.

'Though Seraphina would not pay attention to a two year old kid like me, there is no way that I could avoid her forever if I were to climb the ranks of the family.'

'The safest bet for me is to join my father's faction until I grow strong enough to defend myself against her crafty schemes, but I should prepare some countermeasures just in case.

At the same time, there was a lady who was sitting comfortably on her tailor-made couch as she sipped her tea in an elegant manner. The moonlight and the frosted snow accentuated her dark blue hair, her black eyes gave her an eerily mystifying vibe, and her facial expression was as calm as the sea.

'Hm... It seems that Theseus' child would be attending the Mana Heart Ceremony this year. Too bad I wasn't allowed to be the host, I would've loved to meet his brilliant young child.'

"Depending on his performance, I may have to pull some strings in order for my dear Sophia to become the best of her year." The mysterious lady muttered with a smirk on her face.

"This year's ceremony would definitely be an interesting one."
