The Night At the Catskill Castle [I]

When I promised her to train, she returned to her original attitude. We had our dinner and decided to visit the Castle at night.

We both were looking for a thrill and isn't it romantic to visit a deserted and haunted castle at night.

I booked a car as there were no train routes to Catskill Mountain.

It took 4 hours by car to reach the foot of the hill on which the castle was located.

The Castle's property was surrounded by broken stone walls and a rusted broken door at its entrance.

The surrounding was eerie and it was intensified by the thunder with lightning flashing in its background.

We started to move up the hill by following the broken stone road, we both didn't speak a word on our way up.

I could see the excitement in Van's eyes. She was not afraid albeit enjoying the scary and spooky journey.

We arrived at the castle after 15 minutes of climbing. The design of the castle was the same as the Hotel Transylvania. The effect of being deserted for a long time could be seen by the amount of area on the walls covered by climber plants.

Suddenly we saw a window being broken, followed by thunder, and a lady with long hair and a katana in her hand was thrown out of it.

Van moved faster than me and extended her symbiotic hand to catch the lady.

I was distracted by the beings with bat-like wings coming out of the same window that the lady was thrown.

They had pale white skin, shining due to the flashes of lightning. They also had extended nails and enlarged canine teeth. The appearance was the same as the Vampires that I had seen in the movies.

I turned my attention to the lady whom Van had caught and saw that she was bleeding from her stomach due to tearing of the skin, probably by the Vampire's nails.

I immediately applied Heal and used it to remove the Vampire's virus and also heal her wound simultaneously.

The Vampire attacked us in the middle of my healing, I extended my hands and picked up the katana from the lady and used it to behead the one of the Vampire. The Vampire turned into dust on being slashed and I felt some energy fluctuations around the sword.

Vanessa also turned into her symbiotic form and easily overpowered one of the vampires and tore it apart.

I also controlled them with telekinesis and brought them closer and stabbed them in the chest, by the time I finished I saw Vanessa tending to the wounds of the lady.

I came closer to the lady and was surprised by her getup. I wasn't able to see her clearly due to the spur of the moment. I know her from the movie Suicide Squad, her name was Katana, the wielder of Soul Eater.

She had the same iconic mask which had a red dot on its top and it only covered the top half of her face.

I healed the remaining wounds and wait for her to get up. I wanted to ask about the Vampire and what was she doing here.

She mainly fought Yakuza with her Soul Eater after the death of her family.

As I was thinking, Katana's eyes flutter and she woke up. She searched for her blade but did not find it in her vicinity. She felt the presence of Van and me. She jerked up and took a defensive position away from us.

"Hold on, a lady with a scary mask is it how you treat your Saviours?", I asked while throwing her sword to the ground before her.

She picked up the sword and took a defensive position ready to fight.

"Do you not remember the wound on your stomach?", I asked again while taking the samples from the torn body of the Vampires.

She touched her stomach and felt the wetness of her blood but there were no signs of wounds.

"I healed you and she saved you from being attacked, Where did those days go when people were grateful to the people who helped them?", I said pointing at Vanessa and dramatizing the last statement.

She didn't lower her vigilance, I sighed and said, "I am the owner of the castle and the area around it. I bought it this morning due to its cheap price and peaceful environment, away from the polluted and noisy city".

She was unmoved, I continued, "I came to live here with my wife but was mad to find someone trespassing my property without my permission and some bats living without paying the rent".

I looked at her and saw no change in her attitude.

I looked at Van and found her angry. I hold Van's hand to calm her down. She was not angry at the lady but rather at the bats. She was happy and excited to find some ghosts and our first night in our home but her mood was ruined by the disgusting creatures that she tore apart.

I was surprised when I found that Can didn't change into her symbiote form despite being angry. She was gaining control albeit slowly, over her symbiosis.

I strode towards the gate of the castle to get rid of these vile creatures and ignored Katana.

"Don't go in there, they are very strong and dangerous.", I heard the monotonous voice of Katana.

I ignored her warning and entered the castle. I was angry and was in no mood to talk.
