Chapter 3

'I'm finally a trainer!'

Brendan says in his mind while running outside the lab.

'Now that I'm a trainer, I need to make my way to Petalburg City to get my first badge. but first, I need to catch myself a few Pokemon as it's mandatory to at least have a 3v3 with the gym no matter what skill level the trainer is. Ill head to Oldale town first thought through route 101.' (For this Fanfic the gyms will face you with the strength of Pokemon amounting to the number of badges you have earned).

Brendan while making it to route 101, finds his first encounter.

"rrr"

Pokemon: Poochyena (talent Yellow)

"A yellow talent is pretty rare but not good enough to qualify for my main team but still strong, Go Torchic!"

"Tor chik!"

Torchic for the first time outside Littleroot town, looked nervous but was standing tall.

"Torchic use quick attack to get close then night slash aim for the legs!"

The night slash was a direct hit to the leg because of the wild Poochyena not expecting the quick attack to get in close.

Brendan has watched a few videos of battling but up close was much more exciting; being able to command a Pokemon was amazing. This isn't a game that a single super-effective more will one-hit k.o. But in these real life battles you need to take advantage of everything including where your aiming your attacks. Here, stats don't matter as much as your strategic mind and strength as a Pokemon.

The Poochyena tried to get in close and use a fire fang, but before he could get a hit.

"Torchic dodge and use ember!"

The ember hitting the Poochyena and making it faint. Brendan ended up catching it not for the main team but for the Gym in Petal burg as he needed 3 Pokemon. Brendan ended up encountering multiple other pokemon these included Wurmples and Zigzagoons with talents ranging from red to orange. Brendan was starting to get more fighting experience for Torchic to get used to his commands.

"Thats enough Torchic thats the 3rd wurmple you've defeated!"

Brendan has been making his Torchic practice ember a lot more so he could in the future try to make it an improvised flamethrower and improve Torchic's stamina so it can last longer in battle as the battles in the will won't go on for a long time. The poochyena Brendan caught is also doing pretty well with its fire fang. Brendan was training its agility and strength of fire fang.

'I can see Oldale town finally'

Brendan groans.
