Chapter 34: Making my first pill

And so a month and three weeks passed and Ken Hai has successfully finished and memorized all the knowledge contained in the books, but one.

Closing said final book Ken Hai closed his eyes and released a sigh of relief. 'What a pain! Eva how much does the Library of Heavens Path cost?'

[It cost about 100,000,000 points sir.]

'Fuck!' Relenting he decided he'll have to find ways to get more points somehow. Ken Hai got up and placed the book in the shelf.

He then decided to leave, as he walked out he didn't see the old man today. Though he saw a girl dressed in red come in to study sometimes.

-Elsewhere in the Alchemist Guild building-

"Yu Gi are you sure about this youngster?" said a man who wore white and black robes and had a golden badge over his chest, he had a rather stern looking face and a short but sharp looking beard.

He was currently sitting around a round table with four others wearing similar robes and similar badges but with a silver shine.

Yu Gi the elder that was in the library nodded his head, he was currently dressed the same way as the other three currently in the room.

These were the elders of the Alchemist guild located in Red Iron City, this is just one of the many branches located all over the various ruling empires and countries.

Many of the guilds are immensely powerful as they have connections with not only many powerful sects but also many kingdoms and clans, they also provide certain benefits to certain people like Hong Yu, though she refused.

"Head Elder, we cannot let such a talented youth get away, we must keep a very close eye on this youngster." said another elder.

"The next alchemist test is coming in the next month, I wonder if that youngster will participate." said another elder.

"We can only wait and hope that he remembers the mixing techniques." said another elder.

Mixing techniques was how elixers and pills were made they were a number of ways to do it as some ingredients needs different methods to make a successful pill.

-With Ken Hai-

Walking in the streets of Red iron city, I made my way towards the merchant guild as I needed to check the prices for a cauldron and some other tools.

I've been checking out other places but I could theirs weren't up to the standards I wanted. I could use the shop but I'm saving points and I have more than enough food.

Entering the Merchant guild, I went upto the receptionist it was the same one from last time. As she saw me coming she perked up and smiled.

"It's good to see you again miss." I said to her with a smile.

Her smile seemed to got wider at the prospect of me remembering her. "What would you like?"

"Do you have any cauldrons and other tools for making pills?"

"Simple I'll be right back." she says as she walks off swaying her hips again. After a while she returns with a guy who was carrying a few cauldrons and he placed them down and bowed to her before leaving.

"These are our cheapest to the most expensive cauldrons." she says as she waves her from left to right. Inspecting them I chose the third one which costed about 2100 Silver Lien so almost all half of my money is gone.

"Thank you for your purchase! Would you like anything else little brother?" she asked with a smile.

"Simple do you have these herbs?" I gave her a list she looked it over and replied "I think we have them they aren't really rare." she then went back and brought them out I just payed thanked her and returned to my hotel room.

Sitting down I placed the cauldron on the floor, I think it's time I make my first pill. Nothing too big just a normal qi restoration pill. The ingredients aren't even that rare or expensive and it's a good pill for beginners to make.

Placing down the cauldron I channel my flame qi into it. This is the first step an Alchemist needs to have flame qi to be able to make pills so some cultivators who are aiming to become alchemist normally try to get flame qi first.

I then threw in the first ingredient along with a small amount of water to let it boil out, then I separate the remains of the plant from the water and heat it the part of the cauldron where the plant is located setting it on fire.

I then set down the temperature on that side of the cauldron as I need the ashes. I then threw in the other ingredients following steps provided to me by the books I read. I then fused all of them and molded it into a ball.

The pill then floated out of the cauldron, said pill was pure white in colour and it was glowing slightly.

'Eva what star rank is it?' I asked my system. This is my first time making a pill and I don't want to make any assumptions.

[Sir it's a ten star pill.]

I almost tumbled over when I heard this. This pill was a beginner pill. One that was one star! How the hell could this happen!

I mean the qi restoration pill when swallowed allows the user to restore their qi at a faster rate. It isn't like mana potions where you drink it you immediately get restored the person needs to actively concentrate to restore your qi.

[Sir it's due to your pure qi and your control.]

This made me pause. Now that I think about cultivators don't practice qi control. I mean when making the pill I had to not only separate the plant from the water but also heat up a separate part of the cauldron to be able burn the plant into ashes and another numbers of complex techniques that's pretty basic for my qi control.

But to others that's really fucking hard cultivators only throw around attacks and learn techniques from books, I don't think they even make up original techniques for thousands of years now.

Not only that my pure qi purged any impurities in the pill shooting it's rank upto ten. Which is amazing!

"I'm gonna have to find a way to make the lower ranked somehow. For the practical exam." I say I layed down on my back with my hands behind my head.

"Whatever I'll deal with that some other time." I get up. "I think it's time I deal with those guys who's been tailing me for the past few weeks."
