Chapter 109

"Master, I will take care of the clothing myself~" Ashley said in a sweet tone.

Smiling at both of them he entered the tailors store alone. The way he walked in alone was so natural that neither the princess nor Vorbuk realized that he had not even grabbed the money for clothes from either of them. They simply waited for him outside as he entered the place.

"Welcome-?" The tailor who managed the place glanced at Ashley entering his place in filthy, ragged, clothes. It was obvious from a moments notice that he was not someone who had money.

A slave? Why is he in here alone? The tailor thought as he watched Ashley with caution.

Ashley could feel the man's gaze on him as he walked slowly around the place. His eyes casually casting their sights on a outfit that he felt would work perfectly for his image for his new master. The robes were made of cloth as black as charcoal while golden trim was decorating its upper body and the cuffs of the sleeves.

Picking up the clothes he did not pay any attention to the flustered tailor that rushed over as soon as he picked the clothes up. Flinging the curtain of the changing room open and entering.

"W-Wait! Those clothes are-!?!" The tailor wanted to object because the clothes that the slave had picked up were extremely pricey. It was a suit that would normally be worn by nobles. They were not commoner made clothing so seeing someone so ragged touching them gave the man cold chills. A lot of work went into making his clothing because he personally crafted everything he sold.

"Pardon me." Ashley spoke simply. Closing the changing room's curtain in the face of the tailor before he could object to his actions. The last thing he saw before the curtain closed was Ashley's sweet smiling face. That kind blue eye seemed to warn the tailor to not get in his way before he could no longer see the slave. The curtain separating them in order for Ashley to change clothes.

A few moments passed and the curtain flung itself open.

Well dressed from head to toe, Ashley stepped out from the changing room. His body clad in black and gold. Even his body looked somehow cleaner after changing his clothes. Though in reality he still needed a bath, he could pass himself off as a young nobleman.

That.. Is that the same person? The tailor thought while staring at the slave utterly confused.

The man had clearly went in looking like a ragged slave. Yet when Ashley came back out he looked as noble as an official in the royal palace. What happened in that small room?!

"I will be taking this set." Ashley stated bluntly while adjusting his sleeve a bit. It had been a while since he had worn something that actually fit him properly.

"S-Sir.. those robes cost-" The tailor shuddered as he was cut off by a sudden drop in the room. He could feel a sudden release of killing intent coming from the slave.

H-He's smiling while giving off such intent to kill me over the cost?! The tailor thought while he did his best to not let Ashley leave his line of sight. If he glanced away for a second he was afraid the slave would kill him before he had time to react.

"Cost? I never said I intend to pay you for it." Ashley smiled as the killing intent faded quickly before his next words with an expression so bright and warm that the tailor felt his heart drop in fear. "Thank you for this generous gift, sir."

"Y-Yes! You're welcome! Please come again!" The tailor said. With every word his body trembled in fear.

Please, never come again! I don't want to see you ever again! The tailor's true thoughts were on a different wavelength from what he spoke out loud.

The sound of the door opening again caused them both to turn their heads. They could see Vorbuk slowly stepping into the shop. Instinctively the tailor tried to calm his heart in order to welcome the man as well. Before he could speak he found the man already knew who the slave was. His heart was troubled as he was not sure if he should fear both of them or just the slave who had just a moment ago intimidated him with killing intent.

"Ashley, you left so suddenly I didn't realize you never asked for the money to pay for anything. Did you find something?" Vorbuk asked as he stepped into the shop. He could see the strange expression on the tailor's face but before he could ask what had happened he was being dragged outside.

"Don't worry about it at all, master~! This man was generous enough to just gift me a set that is perfect for me to use in the future." Ashley clung to Vorbuk's shoulders as he dragged him back out the door with a smile. He wanted to avoid the tailor speaking anything unnecessary about Ashley's behavior while he was left alone.

Who is this slave?! Why is he suddenly acting like a puppy asking for praise?! Just take the slave and leave! The tailor's mind panicked as he watched the crazy act Ashley was putting on in front of his master. He wanted to shout at Vorbuk to just drag the man away before he lost control and killed someone.

"Are you sure this is alright?" Vorbuk felt like something was strange.

"Oh! Ashley, you look a lot better after changing! You really could pass off as a master from a noble family when you dress up like this." The princess was caught off guard by the difference in appearance by Ashley wearing something that was actually clean and proper.

"Thank you, m'lady." Ashley respectfully thanked the princess. It was not in his personality to respect just anyone. His respect towards the princess was because he could tell there was a bond building between her and his new master. If he upset the girl he was certain it would cause problems in the future for him when it came to Vorbuk.

"Huh?" Isis blushed faintly at those words.

"We should head back to the palace. I will introduce you to everyone once we arrive. Are you certain that the tailor did not need us to pay for the clothes?" Vorbuk asked once more to make sure they were alright to leave. It felt wrong to take the clothes without knowing the intentions of the tailor who had given them to Ashley.

Why would the tailor simply give a slave such fine clothing? Something feels off.. Vorbuk pondered but every time he considered the thought of something being wrong he was interrupted by Ashley before it could fester too deeply in his mind.

"Yes, he was a kind man. I took care of everything here so you do not need to worry. No problems will arise from accepting this gift. Shall we go now, master~?" Ashley's smile was warm but there was something puzzling in his eyes. It was like he was desperate to leave the place quickly.

What happened in there? Forget it.. I don't have time to waste over asking about his new clothes.. I should get back quickly. He will need to meet the others as well when we return. Vorbuk thought before sighing.
