Vorbuk observed the people around as they approached the guild. It was a large building like most guilds throughout the continent. Since they bought all sorts of beasts and items off adventurers they required a large space to cover the large amounts of supplies coming in every day.
The building itself was made of a beautiful white and brown brick. A large sign out front with the symbol of a phoenix carved in it; made from an expensive wood.
Glances were cast in their direction as they entered the building. Whether it was male or female, attention was something both Vorbuk and Isis could easily draw. With the both of them together it was even worse. Very few people would keep their eyes on them because it was disrespectful to someone that looked as though they were from royalty. It was instinctive to want to keep their lives in tact.
Making their way over to the quest board he tuned in to the whispers of the surrounding people in the guild. He wanted to know what kind of rumors were floating around about Cadirade or at the very least something useful to his situation. Guilds were somewhere he could easily listen to gossip. Adventurers were always on the move whether it was protection work or hunting a large number of adventurers were always making long distance trips for work.
"I heard the dragon that attacked the capital caused a lot of damage.."
"Was it sent by Chynir?" "Are any of the kingdoms safe on this continent from that devil?"
"Shhh! What are you going to do if the wrong person caught you talking like that?"
None of them are giving anything useful to me right now.. Vorbuk thought as he sighed heavily. It was looking as though his only option was going to be asking directly.
At his side the princess was standing quietly. She was not certain what they were doing at the guild but she could tell he was trying to concentrate on what the people were talking about behind them. Looking for a quest was obviously only a cover for what Vorbuk's real intention was to be there.
Thud!
A soft thud was heard as Isis turned her head to see Vorbuk tossing his Adventurers ID and money down on the counter in front of the guild's attendant. Her face froze at the sight as she listened to the words he spoke afterwards.
"I'd like to speak with the guild master." Vorbuk bluntly stated to the girl behind the counter.
"Please, wait a moment." The girl smiled politely before rushing off with the ID and money in order to report the matter. She was not allowed to bring just anyone to him. Permission was required to meet the headmaster of the guild or she would be in trouble.
"What are we meeting him for?" Isis whispered to him because she desperately wanted to know what they were doing. Nobody went looking for guild masters without a good reason.
"Someone's requesting to meet Guild master Seon?" "Ah.. Poor lad must be new around here"
The whispers of the others could be heard from behind as they looked at Vorbuk with pity.
These people really don't get along with their guild master.. Vorbuk thought as he listened to them. He had no intention of answering the princess's direct question. Talking about his matters with her at the moment would only risk others overhearing his words.
"The guild master will see you. Please, follow me." The attendant said as she came back and motioned for them both to follow her upstairs to the second floor of the guild.
"Thank you for helping us." Vorbuk replied to her kindly. He wanted to leave a good impression with the guild master. One of the simplest ways was to respect the workers as well that worked under the man.
"Y-Yes! Thank you!" Princess Isis caught on to his actions and followed him in thanking the girl. She was not sure what they were doing but she was willing to do her best to play along with him.
His response caused the girl to smile sweetly at them both. No further words came from her as she lead them to the stairway. The second floor was where the guild master resided so others were not permitted to go upstairs unless they were lead their; or worked up there. Even workers were cautious when they went upstairs to ensure they had reason to be there. The guild master did not like his private domain invaded. He spent so much time at the guild on the second floor that most felt the guild master personally lived out of the second floor.
They followed her up a tall flight of stairs that curved slightly on the way up. Eyes from the people below were on them as they left. It felt awkward but Vorbuk kept it to himself. Being stared at was something that he did not mind as long as it remained innocent. It was when stares became hostile that it bothered him. The adventurers however were only curious so he had no complaint. There actions only made him more curious what kind of man the guild master would be when they met.
Down a long hallway at the top they made their way to a wide door frame. The door was wide open displaying a meeting room. There were two black sofas with a beautiful maple wood and glass table sitting in between them. On the table was a display of wine and sweets. Around the room was decorated in art from various beasts that had been slain over the generations since the guild's creation.
Sitting on the couch in front of them as they entered the room was the guild master himself, Seon. Legs were crossed as he sat there calmly sipping at a glass of red wine. He had been patiently waiting for them after receiving the message of someone requesting to meet with him.
Clink.
The guild master sat down the glass of wine in his hand. As someone with high authority in the capital he naturally gave off an aura of a noble.
Seon was a demi rabbit. With a pair of long ears, his hair and ears were a blend of soft tan and white. His eyes were blue like the sunny sky. His hair was almost long enough to reach his shoulders and gave off the look as if he had just crawled out of bed. Yet his brown and gold clothing was nice and tidied as if he had dressed for a proper business meeting.
"Which one of you is requesting to speak with me? What information are you looking for? Or should I ask what request you are in need of?" Seon cast his eyes over in their direction. There was a lack of emotion in his eyes. Although his looks could draw a crowd of girls on the street; the cold look in his eyes spoke to keep a distance from him. Over the years Seon had grown to dislike others touching him. His hand was out stretched to show them he wished for them to take a seat on the other sofa across from him.
