Stay calm, this is the perfect opportunity for me. I'm currently unemployed so being vera's bodyguard would make me financially safe. Question is, what's my salary? If I can make more just by fighting in dungeons than I'll do that. I also don't know why he's even offering me the job. With the amount of power the Bizzel guild has Galan could just get a couple A+ ranks to protect her.

" How much?"

Galan walks back over to his desk and starts to use his computer. A few seconds go by and I get a notif on my ID <{ 10,000 CRD have been deposited to CARD BG/974221}> woah! That's a lotta dough.

" Sir, why don't you just get an A rank to protect Vera or something?"

" What are you talking about of course I have"

" Then why d...."

" She's taken a liking to you"

What, I've known her for about 2 hours. Why the heck does the loli want me to be her personal guard. Well, If ever a strong opponent comes to take her life I guess I could act as cannon fodder.

" Ok, so is it 10,000 for the month?"

" Yes"

Cool, I lived off way less in the past.

" By the way, if a single hair on her head gets hurt you'll only wish to be dead"

" I figured as much"

" Wonderful, now you'll be taken to Vera's house where you will be living from now on"

What??

" Uhhh, I already have a place so...."

" We've already moved all your stuff into your new room"

" What if I had rejected?"

Galan starts to chuckle.

I'm scared and confused again.

" Now follow the people behind you they'll escort you to your new home"

After the meeting, I was taken to a luxury apartment in the rich part of town ( Top floor). It's one of the most expensive places in the whole city, the Rossini tower. They showed me to my room located on the 131st floor. It was a quest room in Vera's apartment. Sure enough, the closet had all my old clothing plus a couple of sets of my new uniform. There was even a schedule sheet on my bathroom door. Apparently I was going to have to wake up at 5:00 in the morning. I took a shower that lasted 20 minutes, brushed my teeth, changed into some PJs, and hit the sack ( I was mentally tired from all the sh*t that happened to me). I didn't have a dream and woke up to a really loud alarm. I got into my spiffy new uniform and exited my room. I'd already memorized mine ( Vera's) daily schedule so I should be all set. In all honesty, I still have no idea what I'm doing. Maybe if I fake my way through this long enough I'll get the hang of it.

" There you are!"

" Vera?"

" Who else dumbass"

What a foul mouthed loli.

" Its just, what are you doing here?"

" I was just checking in on you. You're my new guard and you don't have any experience so today you'll stick by my side"

" Alright"

" Todays a really busy day for me, I have a ball to attend tonight after a dungeon run"

" Didn't you just almost die in one?!"

" Yeah so?, if I want to succeed my dad then I'll have to get as strong or stronger than him. There's no time for me to be scared"

She's a really brave kid. If I was in her situation I'd just use High-grade PSY crystals to strengthen myself. She could chose the easy way out but instead wants to work for it.

" You're really brave"

She pouts and turns around.

" Follow me closely for the whole day. If I lose sight of you you're dead!"

" You got it"

Vera spent 6 hours trying on gear, shopping for skills, and... eating. She literally ate something every 9 minutes. Where does all that food go??? After all that time she only bought two skills. Pyrokinesis and a basic physical enhancement skill called burn. It coverts a persons HP into strength. The HP per second drop is mitigated by her new fire element. I was also impressed by how fast she learned the skill pyrokinesis. The skill scroll teaches you how to circulate your energy to get a specific result( necessary for high potential skills and spells. In this case, the compression and ignition of air to shoot fire from your body). It takes a while to learn any skill in general but a few minutes examining the text and she'd already got the skill to lvl: 2. Another thing I wasn't expecting was her learning the skill air manipulation lvl:1. While training to unlock one skill she managed to learn an auxiliary function of the spell and make it its own skill. It's now 11:00AM and were at the entrance to a recently opened PD after a little preparation. It is an F+ rank PD and its a field type. These are very large pocket dimensions with loot hidden all over the place and even side objectives besides the boss. It can contain gear up to 4 ranks higher than the dungeon itself, the downside is that there is a very rare chance of a higher rank monster spawning in here as well. The number and quality of monsters here are also much higher than other types of PDs. This dungeon was reserved by the Bizzel guild so it's just me and Vera going in ( doesn't seem like the best idea but she insisted). I'm wearing the new enhanced clothing Vera gave me and she's wearing rank E+ gear plus a PSY crystal imbued staff( she's over geared).

" Are you going to try and become a magi type?"

" I'm not sure, I tried to be a fighter and that didn't work, so this long range stuff might be more my style"

Even with all her brave talk earlier I can see she looks dejected. She failed at being a fighter only because the odds were entirely stacked against her. I'll have to try and convince her to stay as a fighter or multiclass later. I'd hate to see someone with such potential throw it away out of fear of failure. I myself would have given the world a day ago just to have a decimal of her potential.

We try and check in but had some trouble because of me. My rank had gone up by quite a bit, so they almost had to delay us for a ranking test. One phone call later and the power of the Bizzel guild was shown as a bureau agent backed down in fear of the guild even though I was under suspicion of being a Faker( People who usually just do lower ranked dungeons to smurf and troll people. Some of them are murderous psychos). Me and Vera finally enter the PD but... The damn portal had an influx of PSY and changed rank. From and F+ dungeon like any other, to a unique rank challenge PD.

We're prolly f*cked for real this time.
