New Year's Eve
One year later...
Brent slid his arm around Miles's waist and hugged his man, his world, to his side. By this time next week, their new little baby girl they'd adopted would be home with them. Life, love itself, would take on new meaning. They'd been waiting eighteen months for the application to go through and had spent the past few days decorating a nursery in avid glee after getting the news.
Champagne in hand, he glanced around the tavern at Redwood Ridge Inn and the abundance of townsfolk gathering for yet another successful event put on by the Committee. Holiday music played in the background amidst laughter and conversation. Appetizers and finger sandwiches were being offered by the inn staff. Not a half bad way to spend the New Year.
