The Premiere

[Cam and Mitchell Commentary]

"We are going to a premiere today, as I have played a very important character in the sequel to the critically acclaimed movie Toy Story," Cam said with pride.

"He is in the movie for like 10 seconds," Mitchell added.

"Then why did I get an invitation to the premiere, Mitchell?" Cam said, holding up the invitation. "They don't give these out to just anybody," he added with a smug grin.

"And we also get to walk the red carpet," Cam finished, beaming.

"We got one because Daniel knows us and is dating Haley," Mitchell said.

"He's just jealous," Cam said, smiling widely and holding the invitation.

Mitchell just shook his head dismissively.

Cam fretted around the house anxiously, checking his watch. The premiere was today, and his suit still had not arrived from the dry cleaners. He was starting to panic.

"I'm not going to make it... it's over," he said, walking around the house, sometimes going to the kitchen and eating cookies and whatever he could get his hands on.

Just then, Mitchell walked in holding a bag with his suit. "Here it is," Mitchell said, handing the bag to Cam.

"Thank goodness! I was starting to think it wouldn't make it," Cam said, taking the bag and rushing over to the bedroom.

"Calm down, Cam. We have plenty of time," Mitchell reassured him.

Cam stopped by the door of their bedroom and turned to Mitchell. "Mitchell, this is not some small house party we're going to; this is a movie premiere. Tom Hanks is going to be there. Tom Hanks, Mitchell," he said.

"I just told you to calm down, Cam," Mitchell said, putting his hands up.

"We are going to walk the red carpet, Mitchell!" Cam exclaimed. "Now go and get dressed. We have to take pictures!" he said before closing the door behind him.

Mitchell sighed, shaking his head with a smile. "Cam, did Gloria come by to pick up Lily?" he asked.

"Yes," Cam answered from behind the door.

"Did you know Claire is going to some fancy spa today?" Mitchell said.

"Which one?" Cam asked.

"Elysian Oasis," Mitchell said.

"What?" Cam said, opening the door half-dressed. "That's like the best one in town and very exclusive too!"

"I mean, we already went to a spa last week," Mitchell said.

"It was not the Elysian Oasis, Mitchell. Oh my god, we are going to look like bums at the premiere. We are going to embarrass ourselves," Cam said, panicking.

Mitchell sighed, regretting bringing up Claire going to the fancy spa as he tried to calm down his boyfriend.

[Haley Commentary]

"So, I asked Daniel to help me get ready for the premiere," Haley began. "And he totally came through. He set up an appointment for me at Elysian Oasis the best spa in the city"

"And he even got one for Alex and mom as well. We are going to be so pampered!"

"I'm getting the full treatment today," Haley explained. "A facial, manicure, pedicure, hair styling, and makeup. I have to look like a celebrity at the premiere."

[End Commentary]

Claire, Alex, and Haley were seated in a luxurious room at Elysian Oasis, getting their nails done. The room was elegantly decorated with plush armchairs, soft lighting, and calming music playing in the background. A large chandelier hung from the ceiling, casting a warm glow over the marble floors and ornate decor. The air was filled with the scent of essential oils, enhancing the relaxing atmosphere.

"This place is amazing," Alex said, admiring the surroundings. "Can I stay here, Mom?"

Claire laughed. "I don't think so, Alex."

She then turned to Haley. "Are you going to come back right after the premiere?"

Haley shook her head. "No, there's a party afterward."

Claire's expression turned serious. "Just stay with Daniel. Sometimes there are some bad people at those parties."

"I think you're overthinking, Mom. This is Toy Story," Alex interjected.

"I read it in a magazine, okay?" Claire replied defensively.

Haley smiled. "Oh, I'll be with Daniel. Besides, I read that there will be a lot of actresses at these parties, new ones looking for movie parts, and they go after producers."

"Daniel won't do anything. He's a great guy," Alex said confidently.

"I know, but that doesn't mean some bimbo wouldn't try and hit on him," Haley replied.

"Just be careful, sweetheart," Claire said, squeezing Haley's hand.

"Hey, Uncle Mitchell and Cam will be there," Haley said.

"That's the reason why you are going, Haley," Claire said with a knowing smile.

The attendant approached them with a warm smile. "It's time for your massage."

"Oh, I've been waiting for this," Claire said excitedly as they got up to leave for the next part of their spa day.

Today was the day of the premiere, so I had a busy day ahead of me.

"Sir, the stylists will be here in an hour. Where would you like them to set up?" I heard a voice speak from behind me.

It was Julie, my new personal assistant. Lucy had hired her at the beginning of this month. Julie was of Asian descent and in her late twenties. She had glossy black hair cut in a sleek, shoulder-length bob that framed her face perfectly. She had almond-shaped eyes that were sharp and attentive. She was always dressed impeccably in professional attire. Today, she wore a sharp navy blazer over a crisp white blouse, paired with tailored black pants and polished black heels.

"I told you to call me Daniel, Julie," I reminded her.

Julie sighed. "Daniel, where would you like them to be set up?" she asked again.

"The spare room downstairs," I answered.

Julie nodded and was about to leave, but I stopped her. "When will Haley get here, and has everything been arranged for Cam and Mitchell?" I asked.

"Miss Dunphy's appointment will end soon, and she will be brought here. We have sent detailed instructions to one Mitchell Pritchett as well."

"Good. I guess I'll wait for the stylists then."

Julie gave a nod and left the room. So far, having a PA has been good—life has been less hectic. It was stupid of me not to hire one earlier. Then again, Lucy and Mom were like my PA before.

The stylists arrived and soon began picking and prodding at me. I did not like it, but I guess I had to get used to being picked and prodded like this for the future. They were professionals, moving efficiently as they prepared me for the evening. One of them focused on my hair, trimming and styling it to perfection. They went for a classic, slicked-back look that was both modern and timeless. Another stylist worked on my face, applying just enough makeup to smooth out any imperfections and give me a polished appearance. Lastly, they helped me into my new suit, a tailored masterpiece that fit me like a glove.

As the stylists were finishing up, I heard someone gasp from the door. I looked up and saw Haley standing there, looking absolutely stunning. She was wearing a knee-length, deep blue dress with intricate lace detailing and a subtle, sheer overlay that gave the dress a timeless and classy look.

"Wow, you look amazing!" Haley said as her eyes roamed over my body.

"This is my celebrity look," I replied with a grin.

"I wouldn't mind if you looked like this all the time," Haley teased.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

Haley smiled and looked at the stylists. "You know what I'm talking about, right?"

The stylists nodded in agreement, chuckling softly.

I shook my head, laughing. "Alright, I get it. I'll dress up more often."

Haley then turned to the stylists and asked, "Could you do some touch-ups on me as well?"

"Of course," one of the stylists replied, stepping forward.

"I'll wait outside," I said, giving Haley a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving the room.

After the car arrived, we got in and left. My mom was a bit cold to Haley as we were leaving. I guess she expected to come with me like last time.

Inside the car, Haley was very excited. She turned to me, "Do I need to answer any questions?" she asked, her eyes wide.

"No, just smile and wave," I reassured her. "By the way, some of Hollywood's best fashion designers will be there. Chris is friends with them. You could use this opportunity to talk to them."

"Or," Haley said with a playful glint in her eye, "someone will discover me as a model."

I laughed. "Why are you laughing?" she asked, pouting slightly.

"I just don't think those guys will be there," I said, then got serious. "Most of them are creeps. Like, the creepiest people ever."

Haley made a disgusted face.

The car pulled up to the theater, and we got out. The exterior was decorated with colorful banners and life-sized cutouts of the beloved characters from the movie. There were even mascots dressed as Buzz Lightyear and Woody, entertaining the guests and posing for photos with excited fans.

Before walking the red carpet, we went through a check-in procedure. We got in quickly, thanks to the efficient staff ensuring everything moved smoothly despite the crowd.

I could see Chris talking to some media personnel at the other end. Thankfully, I wasn't asked to talk to any media during my time here, so Haley and I could just walk the red carpet, pose for some photos, and leave.

One of the staff members told me to go ahead and walk. I turned to Haley, took her hand, and we stepped forward. The noise from the crowd was overwhelming; it was bigger than the first movie. I could hear people calling out my name. We walked slowly, posing for photos.

As we walked, I saw Tom Hanks being interviewed by some media personnel. "Wanna talk to Tom?" I asked Haley, pointing at him.

"Oh, let's go," she said.

As we got closer, I could hear him speaking. "When you are in an animated movie, all you are doing is going inside this dark room in front of a music stand with a microphone and talking into it. Not like doing a real movie."

As we approached Tom, his eyes caught sight of me. He stopped talking and turned to me with a huge smile. "Hey, Daniel!" he exclaimed, pulling me closer.

"This is Daniel Adler," Tom said to the media people. "The kid is a genius. And speaking of real movies, he and I will be making one together this year, so you have that to look forward to."

One of the media personnel asked me, "What movie is it? Can you give us a hint?"

I smiled and said, "All in good time."

"All I will tell you is that Daniel and I will be on stage at the Academy Awards next year, that I assure you," Tom said. The media members seemed even more intrigued, jotting down notes and taking more photos. Tom patted me on the back. "Future of Hollywood, everyone," he added.

Tom and I stepped away from them, and I introduced Haley to him. "This is my girlfriend, Haley."

"Nice to meet you, Haley," Tom said warmly, shaking her hand. "You two look fantastic together."

"Thank you," Haley said, blushing slightly.

We separated as Tom had another interview. Haley and I followed the staff's instructions and made our way to where Chris was standing. I was about to call Chris when Haley nudged me.

"Look, there's Uncle Mitchell and Cam," she said.

I turned to see Cam and Mitchell posing for pictures. Just then, I noticed Tom walking back from the media area. Cam spotted Tom and immediately walked over to him.

"I think Uncle Mitchell is trying to stop Uncle Cam," Haley said, pointing to Mitchell standing awkwardly as Cam struck up a conversation with Tom Hanks. To my surprise, Cam and Tom were soon laughing and talking while the media eagerly snapped photos of them.

"I can already see the headlines in tomorrow's tabloids: 'Who is the mystery man with Tom Hanks?'" I said, watching the interaction.

Haley giggled. "Thank you for doing this for them, Daniel. Now they have something to lord over their friends for some time."

"Come on, let's go inside before someone tries to interview me," I said.

We walked inside where I greeted studio personnel and other actors and actresses.

"Oh, is that…?" Haley said, pointing to Reese Witherspoon, who played Jessie in the movie.

She saw me and walked over. We had met a couple of times when she came to record her lines.

"Daniel, great to see you," she said, greeting me.

"Reese, good to see you as well. This is Haley, my girlfriend," I introduced.

"Nice to meet you, Haley," Reese said with a warm smile. "Wow, great dress."

"Thank you! I loved you in Legally Blonde," Haley said, starstruck.

After Reese left, we made our way to the seats reserved for us. We waited a bit for Cam and Mitchell but couldn't find them. The room soon began to fill, and first Chris gave a short speech. Then the movie began. The major difference from the original was the animation, which was better. The movie was the same apart from some small changes. I could swear I heard Cam make a noise when Fizbo appeared on the screen, and to my surprise, I saw Haley discreetly wipe her eyes during the song 'When She Loved Me.'

The movie continued to captivate the audience, and by the time it ended, the entire theater erupted in a standing ovation.

"Wow, that was great," Haley said, clapping enthusiastically.

"I thought you told me this was a kids' movie," I said.

"No, I didn't," she said with a smirk.

As I looked around the room, I had one thought in mind: 'Looks like we have another blockbuster on our hands.'
