'Research'

I was sitting in the living room, browsing the internet on my laptop. The idea of getting into the comics industry had been on my mind lately.

Chris had pointed out that the whole industry was in a slump, but as I later found out there seemed to be a small resurgence lately with the release of some new series and the revamping of old ones. With the MCU on the horizon anything was possible.

DC still appeared to be stuck in a rut, and I contemplated acquiring it outright or just buying the rights to their characters, though that was not possible at the moment.

I needed to make my presence known in the community, so I thought about introducing 'Invincible' to this world. Thankfully, I had kept up with the original comics, not just the show, so I had a good idea of the plot.

The problem was that I needed a partner to collaborate with, a good artist. I considered asking Chris for recommendations, as he would likely know some good artists in the field. However I decided to explore the internet first in search of potential collaborators.

My search for a good artist led me down a rabbit hole after a while I arrived at more.... adult websites, and that's where I started finding some impressive artwork.

It took a while, but eventually, I stumbled upon

"Wonder Woman's Wild Ride by Wonderboy69."I read out loud.

It looked like a repost of the artist's work. The art was amazing. The first page had Wonder Woman in all her glory, naked as the day she was born. The attention to detail was astounding—the artist had skillfully captured every curve and contour. I looked through the rest of the comic, and it didn't disappoint; the artist was obviously skilled.

"I am going to save this for later," I muttered as I looked for the download button.

"Those are some nice art you are looking at," I heard a voice behind me.

"Yeah, I know, right," I replied automatically, but then I froze. I took my eyes off the laptop and came to a very startling realization: I was in the living room.I quickly closed the laptop and slowly turned around to see Nathan standing behind the couch with a grin plastered on his face.

"This is not what it looks like," I said quickly.

"Really, kid? You're going with that?" Nathan said, unimpressed.

"Okay, this is what it looks like…" I said again. "I was doing some research… No, I was searching for artists," I added.

"Is that what they call it these days, 'research'?" Nathan said, chuckling.

I sighed. "Look, I was looking for some artists for a project."

"Look, Daniel, it's fine. You're at that age..."

"No... no," I said, shaking my head.

"I don't need to have that talk with you. I already had that with Mom a few years ago. I don't want a repeat of it," I said as quickly as possible.

"What i am saying is that if you are doing 'research' do it in your room what if it had been your mother standing here instead of me" he said crossing his arms.

"Ohhh.... that would have been bad"i said looking at him.

"Good. I'm glad we made that clear. Out of curiosity, why are you looking for artists?"

"I have a story I think would be perfect as a comic book."

"A comic book huh?" Nathan said with a strange expression.

"Yeah," I replied.

"You know I used to be a huge fan when I was your age," Nathan said, a nostalgic glint in his eyes.

"Not anymore?" I inquired.

"No, not anymore. The quality took a nosedive of some of the series I liked, and with me being busy with my job, I kinda drifted away from it. I even have a collection of books stored away at my parents' house," Nathan replied with a touch of sadness.

"Yeah you won't believe what they did to spider-man." i said.

"Did they make it more worse than it was?"He asked.

"Trust me you don't wanna know"I replied.

"So will anything reignite your interest in them?" I added, trying to gauge his feelings.

Nathan sighed, "Maybe, if there's something fresh and exciting." he said.

"So tell me about this story of yours," Nathan inquired, curiosity evident in his expression.

"Alright," I said, starting to share the basic plot of Invincible to him.

I promised I was going to post today, but I had to travel due to an emergency.

This was the start of the chapter I was going to post today; I had it saved in Inkstone.

I will post the remaining as a new chapter along with next chapter when I return home.
