Sorry, Not a chapter but I hope you read anyways

So I've been debating on whether I should post something like this. I know that for a lot of us we read to escape the problems of life and the things that bother us.

But I can't continue to write a story that so heavily features Black characters and is about a sport that is where it is at today through the efforts of so many Black athletes without talking about BLM.

First I would like to say that I am against all the looting and rioting as I believe most people would be. But I support those who are trying to make a change through peaceful protest which I've seen to be the majority.

Although I am in support of the protest the inner healthcare worker in me just has to say a couple of things. If you are thinking of protesting please try and distance yourself as best as you can. Also please wear a mask.

The mask's primary function isn't to protect you from getting it but to prevent you from spreading it. So if everyone wears the mask they can protect each other from the virus. And if you or anyone in your home is immunocompromised please consider what would happen should you or your loved one end up on a ventilator.

I was honestly going to bite my tongue on this matter. I felt like it would be inappropriate to post something like this on this platform. But yesterday I heard a song titled "The bigger picture" by one of my favorite artist Lil Baby.

Ever since I heard that song it has been eating away at me. How can I in my good conscience write a story about basketball , a sport that is where it is at today because of the work and dedication of so many Black athletes, without bringing this subject up?

I am Asian American but I grew up in Moreno Valley California and went to schools that were primarily Blacks and Latinos. So just about all my friends are Black and I feel like to not use my platform, as small as it may be, to try and spread words for change would be a slap in the face of our friendship.

I am sorry if you don't like seeing posts like this on a platform meant for entertainment. But like Lebron said "I will not shut up and dribble." For all my Black friends, readers, haters, you are not alone and we will stand with you until change is made. If you like hiphop I really recommend the song by Lil Baby. And don't worry today's chapter is still coming out lol.
