The cheery laughs and fake flattering from the nearby dinner hall could be heard even from where Ye FengTian and Xiao Fei had been walking from.

Walking inside the brightly lit dinner hall, the temperature was a lot warmer than the freezing outside.

"FengTain your finally here! Come, we can finally start discussing what I have called you all here for." the cherry matriarch had first noticed Ye FengTian's presence, his suspicions of her from the incident before seemed to have completely disappeared as he smiled warmly at Ye FengTian's direction.

"Greetings, grandfather." Ye FengTian said softly, her voice was barely audible as she took a seat next to Ye Yu Chen.

"Ok." The matriarch suddenly had a change in tone, although gone unnoticed by most, Ye FengTian had caught onto the slight drop in his voice.

"The emperor has decreed that this year the students starting at Jade academy will take their entrance exam in the imperial palace only after an imperial ball, which is this coming night, so I want you all to be prepared and pass the exams with flying colours, understood?"

The matriarch's face was now completely serious and a look of strong determination was seen in his eyes.

"Understood." Everyone sitting at the table said in unison.

Ye Zhen suddenly looked up, his heavenly handsome face seemed perilous and sculpted to perfection as he lightly glanced at the impeccable face of Ye FengTian, his gaze deep and calm.

Turning her head around, Ye FengTian caught his gaze. Her weak and soft eyes seemed to narrow slightly, although this wasn't noticed by Ye Zhen.

"Brother Ye Zhen. " she nodded her head slightly as to great him, after all, his status was not only higher a young master of the Ye household but also a successful veteran general, this, she respected him for.

Ye FengTian acknowledged that the man in front of her was powerful and talented, however, she still had to be wary, although she wasn't scared of his power, she still certainly didn't wish to become his enemy, things would become too complicated.

After addressing the imperial invitation and decree, the dinner passed peacefully, with occasional hatred filled flares coming toward Ye FengTian's direction.

As everyone bid fair well to the matriarch and paid their respects, the night was already at it's peak of darkness.

Suddenly, a low, deep and cold voice sounded behind the leaving silhouette of Ye FengTian.

"Little rabbit, I wonder, how long can you keep that little facade of yours up?"
