28. This Game Does Have a Good Story

"Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody's going to know whether you did it or not." — Oprah Winfrey

The battle quickly began, and the first sentinel woke up and was taunted promptly by Bob. It was then brought to the center of the arena, where it was turned around so the other three could attack without being hit by any wayward attacks.

"Alright, we have 45 seconds before the next one spawns, so continue damaging with everything you have."

By the time the second sentinel woke up, the first had only lost around 25% of its HP; nobody was worried, though.

"Alright, we must keep it up; remember to focus the first one down."

By the time they had gone through 2 more phases and the fourth sentient spawned, the party began to get somewhat nervous. The first sentinel still had around 30% HP, and it would be troublesome if Bob had to hold the first one; it was unclear if he could keep it for more than a few attacks.

Seeing the situation, Lazarus looked at Holly and spoke calmly.

"When the fifth one is pulled into the stack, use your Suppression Seal to slow them down so they are easy to tank."

That would buy them 8 seconds, the duration of the slow.

After saying that, he strangely changed his targeting from the first sentinel, which was in the low 20% health area, to the second one, which was in its 50s.

Although the other members were confused and unhappy with him changing targets, Bob was confident he could hold out against 5 for a while, especially with help. Eagle's Light was satisfied that with her ult, nobody would die while it was active.

When Bob pulled the fifth sentinel into the stack, Holly instantly used her ultimate, slowing the mini-bosses down and making it much simpler for Bob to avoid the hard-hitting attacks that would drain his stamina to block and chunk his HP.

As soon as the fifth sentinel arrived and was slowed, Lazarus instantly used Stellar Collapse, dealing a large amount of initial damage and steady damage over time to all of the enemies. With all of them in front of him, Arcane Reaver hit the initial target and cleaved the rest for a % of the original damage, chunking all of their HP as his damage skyrocketed, quickly jumping past the 50% damage done for the group threshold and reaching 60%.

By the time the Stellar Collapse and Suppression Seal ran out of time and dispersed, two of the five sentinels were dead, and the other three were all under 50% HP, having 27%, 37%, and 44% HP, respectively.

Seeing what happened, the group was stunned; in 8 seconds, he had done the same amount of damage as the entire group had done in around 4 minutes.

Seeing everyone stunned, Paul was somewhat embarrassed; they were all looking at him with praise, but usually, what he did would be considered shamelessly padding his stats. If he had used his ultimate earlier, he could have killed a sentinel earlier, but he waited for the maximum worth.

While they began burning through the lowest health sentinel, Off Botton couldn't help but look over and lament sorrowfully.

"I wish I had an area of effect ultimate that dealt damage; that was crazy!"

Looking over, he smirked.

"Once you get to level 30, choose it if you want."

After level 20, each class unlocked another ultimate every ten levels. At level 50, they unlocked their subclass, which unlocked a fourth-class skill line to complement the base 3. The trick was that every ultimate shared the same cooldown; Stellar Collapse had an 80-second cooldown, and the mainstream Templar healing ultimate had a 120-second cooldown, but if someone had them both unlocked, even if you had the cooldown for both ready, if they used Stellar Collapse the cooldown on both would reset back to zero.

Following the previous events, they could finish the encounter calmly without worrying about getting overwhelmed.

As the last mini died and items were dropped, Lazarus had done 53% of the team's damage for the fight, completely dumbfounding the entire party.

Despite a tank and healer not doing very much damage, their simple attacks would usually do 5-10% of the damage in a fight, meaning that, with all things considered, he did more damage than both of the other DPS over one and a half times.

In a guild or high-level group that would be considered slaughtering the other DPS, granted some people are more single-target compared to AOE, like Off Botton, it was still rare to see that kind of result in a large encounter like that, which took over 10 minutes.

"Damn it, even Holly out-damaged me this time!"

Seeing her angry, Paul walked over to Holly and spoke while looking at what he had dropped.

"We should start equipping the gear we get dropped here; it will be difficult for us in the next dungeon with our current gear."

Nodding while looking somewhat sulky, she quietly spoke to him.

"I doubt you need any new gear; you will blow me out of the water in DPS anyway."

Seeing her feeling sad about it, he sighed.

"Don't worry about it; Templar is not a strong AOE class; Stellar Collapse can be considered average to below average as an AOE damage ult; it is only because nobody else has one that it looks strong here. I took it because it is great for farming ads, but I would pick a different one later in the game. Sorcerer has the best AOE ult in the game for damage later one; in a few months, you will be the one padding stats on fights like this."

Seeing her mood improve, he chuckled before speaking louder for everyone to hear.

"Wow, your Searing Expanse did more alone than Off Button!"

Hearing this, the rest laughed while the person in question was livid.
