The Villain's Grand Plan? (2)

"My dear Cas… the grand plan…. Is…. To run away!!!!"

Opening my arms as I waited for Cas to jump in my arms, praising me and telling me how genius my plan was….

….

Looking at her I could see the stunned look on her face.

"It's ok Cas." I said as a look of understanding crossed my face.

My plan was too complex for someone else to understand, which is good as no one else will be able to figure it out till it was too late.

"That…."

Follow the plan and allow me to be killed by the protagonist, in your dreams.

"Is…."

Ally with the demon realm to usurp the kingdom, please why fight when I can avoid all that?

"The stupidest…."

I have a feeling I will be pushed along a predestined path by some unseen force. Chalk it up to too many light novels and anime about this sort of situation. Well, I say Screw You! I bet you never heard of the Kansas City shuffle.

"Plan ever…"

Basking in the glory of my awesomeness I didn't notice the Cas was talking to me.

Slowly coming back to reality, I cleared my throat. "Sorry Cas, you were saying."

"I said that is the stupidest plan ever." She replied after taking a deep breath to recollect herself

"How so?" was my reply as I oozed confidence

"You said it yourself; you're destined to be the villain and you will be killed while attending the academy." I slight quiver could be barely heard in her voice. "How can you be expected to run away while avoiding being killed?" She finished waiting for my reply.

"Simple" a slight chuckle escaped my lips before continuing. "While your opponent is looking left, you go right." More chuckling could be heard from me.

With her hand on her chin, looking very beautiful and thoughtful…..

Shaking my head trying to get rid of these distracting thoughts… I was supposed to be in villain mode right now… not Yandere mode… I mean I'm not a yandere or anything. Yes, if someone were to harm her, touch her, or say anything bad about her. I would flay them alive and dump them in a salt bath…..

Stop!!! Villain mode…

…. Moving on….. I'm not a yandere….

Callista stood there thinking about everything for a few minutes before her eyes lit up as she finally understood.

"You plan to fake your death, so you can escape from being killed?" She asked.

"Yes, but don't forget that I am supposed to die as a villain. So, all I must do is make sure that I have a hero's death in front of a very large audience, and then I will be free."

There was an event towards the end of the academy arc, where I was captured by the demon Ar'kia belonging to the lust clan and was…. 'Convinced' to sign a pact with her and help the demons invade the academy.

So, the plan was to be the hero, who valiantly died to stop the demons from invading the academy.

"I don't like that plan. Too many unknowns that need to work out perfectly so you can cheat death. Next." Came the abrupt answer.

Taken aback as my epic plan was shot down without hesitation, I struggled for an answer

"Look all I have to do is find the lust clan…."

"Next."

"I just need to locate Ar'kia…."

"And kill her? Good plan, Next."

"But…."

"Ci…. Next."

With a defeated look in my eye, I began to come up with a new plan… well I already had a backup plan ready, but it was a plan that didn't help me achieve my ultimate goal….

"Become an adventurer…" I said with a defeated sigh

While it wasn't the most villainous plan, it was the plan that had the best chance of succeeding.

"Head to the academy, acquire the permission of at least three head professors and the headmaster. Just need the backing of a guild." Callista paused before continuing "Although it will probably be easier to fund our own guild." She finished with a nod. "That's what we will do."

"Yea…" I said with a deflated ego. "Funding a guild wouldn't be a problem, and I have two of the three professors in mind that would be the easiest to sway. The final one while a bit tricky will not be that big of a problem."

While attending the Holy Oaks academy was mandatory once you turned fifteen and were required to attend for a total of four years. As nobles, we had certain privileges and were able to leave the academy earlier than intended. Provided we had good enough of a reason.

Acquiring the status as an adventurer would allow me to leave the academy for extended periods at a time, as I would be using my skills and power to help the kingdom.

As an adventurer, I would be able to avoid most of my death flags. That whole event where the demons infiltrate the academy… yea I'm going to take this quest and avoid that whole problem. Let the protagonist handle that. I'll come back once the whole event is settled.

Taking a minute to think about everything, I realized that I had overlooked something. There was a hidden quest that you were able to unlock through certain actions. You were tasked to search a newly discovered portal that was believed to lead to a new dungeon. After stepping through the portal, you and your guild mates were transported and stranded on what was believed to be a new world. The forums were on fire when that was discovered, so much so that the developers had to come out and say it was content that was cut out of the game and to treat it as an easter egg.

Maybe my ultimate plan could still work I thought to myself, but I was rudely interrupted by a knock on my door.

"Enter." I replied

"Lord Maxamus." The servant began as he stepped into the doorway. "Your guests have arrived and are currently being situated and the grand hall." He finished before bowing and leaving.

Excellent, my pillars have arrived.
