An unusually strong opponent

I recited in my head and calmed myself down.

It took me longer than I expected. But thankfully no one had moved from their spot. I glanced at Sasuke and Naruto. Sasuke was taking it more calmly than I imagined. While Naruto looked disgusted by the sight. But he was faring better than me.

It was the day when I finally realised that taking someone's life isn't easy at all.

An unusually strong opponent

Itachi decided to pit his puppets against his foolish little brother and the kunoichi in his team. At first he wanted to test his brother so he had decided to use both of his puppets against him.

But, he changed his mind when he noticed the amount of Chakra she has.

'Is she an implant from Danzo ?' Itachi thought to himself.

And the reason for his thoughts were very simple.

First of all Hitachi has been keeping an eye on Sasuke since last two years. And he knew that the kunoichi on his brother's team was a normal academy student. Although she was apprenticed in the Leaf shinobi hospital, she was just a normal civilian girl.

But such a girl made perfect target for Danzo.

The third Hokage has promised him to take care of his little brother. Obviously he would keep that and keep away Danzo from Sasuke. If not for promise then the fact that Sasuke was the only one who could revive the most powerful bloodline limit of the hidden leaf village would make the third Hokage safekeeping Sasuke.

But that old rat Danzo should not be underestimated in any circumstances.

Itachi new that he was a master manipulator.

And no one would suspect him if he plant a young genin, who has never been to the headquarters of root becoming an agent of Danzo.

She was very talented when it comes to pure Chakra control and Chakra suppression.

Even he himself couldn't measure the amount of Chakra she had until she slipped the control from her emotions.

And Itachi found that odd. Maybe Danzo hasn't done the emotion removal in order to avoid being suspected. But he found it odd that he hadn't made her kill anyone before.

A man like Danzo will never do that.

'Or is it something else entirely ?'

In the puppet Jutsu, using Sharingan transmission will be very taxing, but Itachi was ready to do that much for his brother.

After the initial kill I didn't find it hard to take another life. Sure Naruto took care of most of them, and Sasuke taking care of a lot of them by his fire style jutsus, but I wasn't far too behind.

Interns of kill count, I was probably and the top. While Naruto left them severely beaten and Sasuke left them severely burnt I left them maimed or dead.

The slaughter continued, because what happened cannot be called a fight.

It was a one sided beat down.

But suddenly something unexpected happened. Someone blocked my daggers.

The man was robust and tall, and he was welding a Katana. My dagger was only able to slice halfway through his blade when it stopped and couldn't move anymore.

I was shocked but the man didn't stop. He continued with a round house kick. In my shocking state I jumped back barely dodging the kick.

But the man didn't stop. He took out the other blade from his waist and pushed forward. Unlike other goons around myself who were shouting their lungs out when attacking us, he didn't even breathing hard. His movements were very smooth and trained. I tried to bypass his defence, but I was unable to. The only leverage I had that he was dodging all of my attacks instead of letting them hit him. It was a wise choice in his case but a bad news for me. It was obvious that he was using a normal Katana. But with the amount of Chakra he was putting in it, it was matching my Chakra daggers. He wasn't completely blocking my attacks after his Katana nicked in first few of our clashes, but he was expertly parring them away.

At first I thought that it was a stalemate and the person in front of me must be very experienced in sword fight. But as if proving me wrong other goons, around myself cheered for the man for evenly fighting me.

And soon all other goons around us also joined our fight.

Soon I find myself in a tight spot where I had to dodge the attacks from the goons and fight the swordsman at the same time.

Sasuke was destroying the crowd of goons when he met a stronger opponent. It was at all bulky man with a sword. Initially he was very happy that at least he don't have to slaughter everyone without getting a good fight.

But soon he became surprised, when the man in front of him matched him with his speed. Not to mention his kenjutsu skills was greater than his own. Due to his sharingan, Sasuke was able to follow his every movement. That was the reason he could clearly see the difference between them. The man was parring all of his attacks with smoothness and precision. But even with his sharingan, Sasuke found it hard to block his attacks.

Sasuke tried the new lightning jutsu on the man, he simply grabbed his hand and threw him away. It was really frustrating for Sasuke. But then something unexpected happened.

"Foolish little brother..." The man whispered to his ears during one of there exchage. He sound nothing like Itachi. But the way he spoke those words, stricked a kunai in Sasuke's heart. The momentary shock was enough to freeze Uchiha Sasuke. And that moment was enough for the goon near him to smack him with a spiked club.

Even though he didn't put much force in his attack, the spikes on the club pierced through Sasuke's abdomen, which made him spit blood.

Kakashi who was keeping close eye on his students suddenly got alarmed by the turn of events.

Sakura seemed to encounter a strong opponent who has far greater experience than an ordinary bandit or goon. His movements were slightly enhanced with chakra and his results where slightly above an average genin. But the movement of his swords spoke something else. He was physically lacking. From his attires he looked like a former samurai but, his movements were clearly that of a shinobi.

Maybe a former genin, who has practiced his kenjutsu a lot. Although Sakura was getting overwhelmed by the attacks from every direction, she was holding herself well. And besides, she has yet to use anything except for her dagger. It was good that she was refraining herself from using major chakra agumentation. Otherwise she might damage the bridge.

But Sasuke is a different matter. He took, like Sakura met a strong opponent. And this one seems to be even stronger than the man who was fighting Sakura. But as Kakashi was expecting, Sasuke was handling him good enough. Both of them were evenly matched. But due to Sasuke's occasional wide ranged attack, most of the goons stayed away from their fight. But suddenly he noticed that the goal said something to Sasuke. Without his sharingan, it was hard for him to read his lips from this distance. But whatever the man told Sasuke , froze him for a moment. And that was enough for the goons around him.

Kakashi wanted to intervine. But he stopped himself when he saw several of the Naruto clones were rushing towards Sasuke. He decided to watch for now. But if the situation got out of hand, then he would definitely intervene.
