"A mere Saint, tsk," the being chuckled disdainfully as he regarded Rasoul as if he were nothing more than a bug. Had Rasoul arrived even a second later, Lara would have likely lost her head. Throughout the battle, she had been utilizing her light to heal her teammates, leaving them looking as if they hadn't even exerted a fraction of their strength.
Unbeknownst to her, however, the dark being had been lurking in the shadows, observing her every move. Sensing Lara's divine heritage, it hungered to take her out and drink her blood. Yet, as it closed in, Rasoul appeared from behind her, intercepting the attack.
The shockwave sent Valkyrie and Lara hurtling back 200 meters, leaving Rasoul alone. Blood spilled from the corner of his lips, prompting Nyx to swiftly assume her priestess form and cast healing magic on him.
