"Mom, the moon is so beautiful." A five-year-old boy said, staring at the full moon which was giving out a radiant glow with excited eyes.

"Yes, boy," a huge man said, ruffling his dark, messy hair. The young boy stood in between his parents as they stared at the moon from the top of their roof.

"C'mon, now, time to head inside, it's getting cold," the young lady said, taking hold of his hand.

"But I still want to stay and stare at the moon," the boy whined.

"C'mon now, listen to your mother." He said, patting his head.

"But there's still few minutes before my bedtime," he said, staring at his father with puppy eyes.

"You know what? When you're big enough, I will take you to the moon." The man said with a smile.

"Really!" The boy exclaimed.

"Yes, I promise. Now listen to your mum and go get some sleep."

"Alright, dad, you're the best dad in the world," the boy said, hugging his father.

They climbed the stairs, leading to a narrow corridor inside the house. They first headed to his room, and he was tucked into bed by both his mom and dad.

"That's my boy, sleep well." With a kiss, they both went out, turning off the lights before leaving.

Sigh. "He seems to be growing wiser each day," the lady said as they walked down the hall, entering a small room. "Yeah," the man replied without much thought. "His ability seems to be getting stronger each day."

"We'll get through it," the lady said as she rested her head on his chest. She couldn't help but look at his spiky red hair, which made him more charming. They both lay on the bed in the room and slept off.

"Will, Will... be careful... take good care of yourself. Don't give up no matter the pain you're going through... no matter what happens, keep on moving forward! I'll always be here for you, remember that... I'll always be here for you, watching your every step and all. I love you and always will."

"Ugh..." Will woke up holding his head. Touching his cheek, he could feel it was wet. 'Why am I crying,' he thought. 'A weird dream,' he thought as he stood up from the bed. He couldn't help but think back to the dream, 'who are those people? Why do I feel a strange connection to them,' he thought as he walked to the kitchenette and served himself some chilled water.

He walked back to his bed and sat down. 'Such love,' Will thought, feeling a pain in his heart. 'Who was that lady's voice I heard? Why do I feel this aching pain all of a sudden?'

"Ugh... I think I should go to sleep," he said, checking the time.

"I think that would do for now. I don't want him to become suspicious," a lady said, talking to a floating figure behind her.

"You did well. You don't have to be worried. I believe he would overcome any obstacles that come his way." The floating figure said its shimmering body emitting an otherworldly glow.

The lady rested on the chair, some few strands of her silver hair escaping from the band holding them in place. "I think you're right," she said with a sigh. "I better get some rest," turning off the lights, she walked down to her room.

Things had gone smoothly after that day although they had been informed about the first assessment coming up.

They had been informed about meeting at same place they had the evaluation, for them to be briefed about the first assessment. Out of the thousands of students, only a few eight hundred were left.

Today was the day they would be briefed about the assessment. Most of the students were quite tense and had continued training endlessly in other to be ready for the challenge.

"All students should make their way to the training grounds... I repeat, all students should make their way to the training ground." The students around the base heard the voice in their mind. Soon everyone made their way to the training ground.

Gathering round, just like the last time, the green haired man was standing at the podium.

"It's been a week after we met here congratulating you guys in taking a step forward toward joining the military. Now before you are fully accepted as members of the military, you must pass the upcoming assessments." He said with a pause staring at the sky, before continuing.

"Your assessment begins tomorrow. I implore you guys to prepare yourselves. The first assessment is based on survivability in an unknown region. You all will be placed at the center of the yellow zone, which has the highest influx of energy which would be very beneficial to you all."

"Though, various high tier beast resides there." Taking a deep breath he continued, "the assessment is to survive there for a month. Also, there are some locations continuing some energy crystals and beast shards for your growth."

"Since you are all in the advanced realm, you can make use of ability shards without harming your body."

Soon gasps filled the area as the students started making remarks.

"Are they trying to get us killed? How are we to survive for a month at the center of the yellow zone which houses higher tier beasts?"

Some had expressionless face awaiting his next words.

"You're only allowed to participate with an advanced tier beast weapon." He declared. "All materials you are to carry must not cross the advanced tier."

Tsk. 'I wonder what thes guy's are up to,' Will thought. He couldn't help but be suspicious. 'All of a sudden they are exposing us to danger as if urgently trying to prepare us for something huge.'

"Are you guys having same thoughts?" Dren voiced out. "They don't care if we die, right? I could have stepped down when I had the chance!" Dren exclaimed his hands shaking.

"C'mon, remember we are here, we all got your back," Will replied back with a smile patting his back.

'Don't worry I won't let anything happen to you guys.' Will thought clenching his fist.

"Isn't it strange, they don't care if we lose our lives in the assessment," Belle finally said. 'What the hell are they planning,' she thought. "Aren't they scared of how those from a high family would react at the loss of their child."

"Judging by how things are going, I believe our parents are well aware. And they agreed on it," Will said. "All we have to do is make sure we survive no matter what. This is also an opportunity for us to increase our strength."

"The second years are also going through along with you guys in the assessment. Those that had been unable to advance in their realm. They will be place with you guys. Finally, you shall all be transported to random areas," just as he said that their watches made a beeping sound with the screen covered in a countdown.

"Once it gets to zero you all will be transported to the yellow zone and your assessment begins."

"Now, before you head back to your dorm, we have some visitors." Entering the stages were three men all dressed in military uniforms emitting terrifying auras. The one at the middle seemed to have a fierce aura, one greater than that of the green haired guy.

"Who's that," the student all felt goosebumps amd couldn't even look at the man's face.

"Welcome Jaquin Murdock, the vice supreme commander of the military," he said before walking away from the podium, giving him way to make a speech.
