Inside the icy cave, Yusheng was submerged in wine filled tub mixed with poisonous herbs.

The very first time she entered the tub she felt her bones trembling her body burning from the poison filled wine.

Though the bird itself was rare as if extinct to be found but being mentioned in the book implies its existence in the world. It is rumored that just a drop of its poison is able to kill hundreds of any living creature.

Each time after dipping in the mixture she had to also cultivate sitting on the thousand year old ice.

Where she would cultivate till the wine and the poisons from the herb that has seeped inside would convert to vapor then mixed with her blood.

As one has to rotate the Qi to a boiling point there was strong chance of explosion from inside if the temperature is not balanced hence it was a most to cultivate with the thousand years ice known for being the strongest and coldest ice.
