Dancing clown

Chen Yi feels relief his heart settling back and looks at the cup vaguely and asks Pei Jin "how was he able to distinguish the two...he was very confident in presenting the cups?"

Pei Jin pours him and Chen Yi another round and raise the cup to his mouth, before gulping the wine down he gives the mocking smirk and replies "how can he not be...must have prepared long ago...his eyes were shining with glee...if the maid hadn't twisted one of the cups it would have been the perfect secret...seems like even the cups were prepared under meticulous care.."

Chen Yi also notices the slight difference when Pei Jin puts his cup next to the one used by Shiyou. If not for ones sharp eye and focus on situation the matter would indeed pass by flying colours.

Yusheng and Pei Zhang finally enters grandly with a soured and near about to cry Tao following behind. Giving polite nods and greetings they reach beside Pei Jin who's face was like a blooming flower.

Yusheng sits beside him and Pei zhang cleverly steals Qingfeng's seat who at the moment was chatting with Jisheng. Pei Jin places his hand on hers and giving gentle caress asks "how was it...did you have fun?.."

Yusheng nods and replies gently "umm...it was a lot more fun than expected...the capital is rich of interesting and intriguing things..we bought a lot of souvenirs for everyone...the various foods we tasted were also delicious..."

Pei Jin smiles stretches while his eyes had turned warm, still caressing her hands he says "as long as you liked it...wait a bit more and dinner will be served...I heard they had prepared many exquisite dishes today.."

Yusheng smiles at him and replies gently "we are a lot..so it's good that the dinner is yet to be served...or I wouldn't have appetite to eat the delicacies..and how was everything at your end?.."

Pei Jin pours her wine and answers "nothing we hadn't expected...I had a nice chat with the person...and before you arrived a dancing clown had me entertained.."

Yusheng understood the matter behind from the hints and giving a mischevious smile replies "must have been very entertaining...hope the clown will dance again...for we missed such a show.."

Pei Jin moves slightly closer and whispers "naughty...though the dance was good but the clown was very ugly to see...you better not hurt your eyes by looking at him...don't worry I will be the story teller you keep you entertained.."

Yusheng smelling the vinegar decides not to say any further as to overturn the jar. Meanwhile Pei Zhang felt disgusted by his brother acting all mushy and lovey dovey. Not wanting to eat the dog food any longer he inserts between their conversation irritating Pei Jin.

"Brother...you should have come with us...me and sister in law had great fun...not only we saw and bought so many interisting things...we also ate almost all of the stall snacks...that skewered mutton was too good..ah...and those lotus cakes...sad but you missed so much.." gushes Pei Zhang rubbing on his brothers face.

Pei Jin who was already irritated looks at him with threatening gaze and replies giving chills "oh..good you had so much to eat...later after our return why don't you go on a diet...you have become fat...not good for a growing body...don't worry...brother will prepare a very specific diet menu and have Zan on stand by to practice with... so you can loose the extra fat quickly.."

Pei Zhang's smug smile disappears in blink of an eye, he quickly changes his tune and approach "that...dear brother...though brother may have gained some fat but it isn't a matter for you to trouble over...brother will eat in moderation from tomorrow...yes...no more outdoor eating..."

It was now Pei Jin with pleased and smug smile while Yusheng felt the situation amusing and funny. Soon rows of servants enter and make bee line towards the table with steaming and fragnant dishes.

Both Shiyou and Xiuzhi had their chest puffed each demanding compliments from their posture. The dishes today were indeed eye catching and mouth watering. Buddha Jumps over the wall, Shark fin soup, Mapo tofu, sweet and sour pork, Kung pao chicken, west lake fish in vinegar sauce, sauted shrimps, stewed bamboo shoots, sauted broad beans and so on.

The taste was like it's appearance very delicious receiving many praises and compliments. The smile stretched to ears of two people who were fishing for the compliment. Shiyou felt it was the best day of his life since he birthed hence ate and drank with gusto. Unaware of the fact he was nothing but a dancing clown who had been entertaining his nemesis.
