Eveline needed some time to process what he had said before everything fell apart.
Gabriel, on the other hand, was astonished to hear him as well.
"You're lying," he murmured, staring at Kaden.
"You suppose I will lie about my sister's death. She was everything to me, the only one who loved me deeply, until that man came along and snatched her away." Kaden's dislike for Jonathan was obvious, but why was he so hostile to him?
"I think we need to leave," Eveline said abruptly as she stood up, unsteady on her feet.
"When will we meet again?" Kaden inquired as he attempted to speak with her.
"I don't know," she answered, swiftly walking away, followed by Gabriel, who left after giving a final glimpse at the man who had given them the biggest shock of their lives.
Eveline didn't say anything during the drive to the resort, but she appeared restless, fidgeting with her hand as she tried to calm herself.
