After Concert

After the concert, drenched in sweat and frustration, I found myself pacing in the VIP resting area, my patience wearing thin. "I've had it up to here with this girl group," I declared, unable to contain the storm brewing inside me.

The system, with its irritatingly mechanical voice, always had a way of getting under my skin. "To make him to the world's protagonist, fame points are crucial.

His metrics are fine, but let's face the harsh truth—you're not the fan favourite here, most of the audience prefer other members over you," it said.

I snapped back, "And why the hell do I need these fame points, anyway?" My voice echoed my brewing anger.

"To claim the halo! Do I really need to repeat myself over and over?" The system retorted, "I've never encountered anyone quite like you. You're a whole different challenge," its words only fueled my disdain for it.

"You're calling me unreasonable? You're the one who's thrown me into this chaos, taking me back in time. You made promises, vowing to help me make him shine, to make Lu Chen the protagonist of this world!" I shot back, my resolve hardening.

"You really should consider therapy," it dared to suggest.

"There's absolutely nothing wrong with me!" I really want to delete this hideous robot, if only it wasn't need for Lu Chen, I would .

But I can't. I need it for my goal.

I'd do anything to ensure his safety and happiness even it means that i have to deal with this creepy thing.

In the aftermath of the concert, as the dressing room's atmosphere grew tense, criticisms began to fly my way. "Your movement is too rigid," one of them accused, pointing directly at me. I merely shrugged in response.

"Oh yes, she can't even keep up with the rhythm," another piped up, her voice dripping with a sense of victory as though my supposed failures made her any better. What a bitch.

"Her voice is too stiff," the first one critiqued, her cold eyes on me, expecting me to cower. But I didn't.

"Let's kick her out of the group if this continues," they said, quite openly.

My silence must have made them think I was an easy target to be bullied.

These dumb bitches.

If only the system had cautioned me against retaliating openly....

I would....

But ofcourse it didn't mean I wouldn't do anything at all...

I might, just that it would take a bit longer time.

I let their comments slide off me without a word.

"It doesn't even matter that you paid for your place here. Now that the group's got some fame, we can easily replace you

You hear us???" they sneered, jealousy or perhaps hatred tainting their words.

I guess they expected me to break down or cry or something. But their opinions, their schemes, even their very existence, held no significance to me. I remained unfazed, indifferent. My involvement with this group was never about them. My focus, my entire being, was dedicated to one thing only—making Lu Chen happy. Nothing else mattered.

Then our manager intervened, his authoritative voice slicing through the mounting hostility. "Enough," he declared. "Lin Qing stays. We're not making any changes." His stance only fueled their anger further.

They resented him for his apparent favoritism towards me, blind to the fact that it was me, it was me who bought resources that had catapulted this group to fame.

Their narrow-mindedness was almost pitiful.

"I guess it is a side effect of their extreme diets , hunger really do mess with any logical thought process"

But their petty grievances, their disdain, it was all irrelevant to me. For Lu Chen, I was prepared for anything anyway.
