In the valley, the stench of blood filled the air.
"Ah! Where are you? Wherever you are, show yourself!"
The experimental subjects were made of flesh and blood.
There was also a limit of endurance that they could handle.
The remaining team members' endurance had already reached the limit.
They started to shoot recklessly.
"Boom!" A loud sound was heard. The mountains and the ground shook.
Everyone looked around the valley. A large number of boulders blocked the narrow entrance.
There was no way out.
Everyone's heart sank. It was obvious that they had been ambushed.
The most frustrating and terrifying thing was, they could not find their target at all.
Two said frantically, "Zero, where are you? Since you lured us here, aren't you intending to fight me?
"Why don't you show yourself?"
Two's voice reverberated around the cliffs.
"We'll meet shortly and I will give you a chance to challenge me, Trash," said Elrond.
His voice came from the back of another boulder again.
Two's mouth twitched. He didn't believe that he would be misled again and rushed over.
It was another loudspeaker.
"Bang bang bang—"
Three consecutive shots were shot. It was a real headshot. Their heads exploded like a firecracker.
It was apparent that the power of the gun was not weak at all.
Even Two was scared by now.
"Zero, come out. Don't tell me you want to continue being a coward?"
"I'll come out, but only after I've made you feel despair. Oh, and to that brain-eating monster, I'll personally feed your brain to the dogs."
"Come out."
In response to them was the sound of gunshots.
Ten minutes later, the entire valley was littered with corpses. The team that Two brought was all dead.
On the cliff, Elrond stretched his arms and legs. Six mechanical arms appeared behind him, holding on to the rocky cliff.
This allowed Elrond to face the valley directly. Both of his hands held on to the Golden Revolver.
Two and Ten were still searching for him in the valley.
They did not notice that someone was coming down from the cliff.
Standing behind them, Elrond said, "Two, weren't you looking for me? I'm right behind you."
Two trembled. He suddenly turned around and fired a shot, but Elrond was faster than him.
"Bang."
"Bang."
Two gunshots reverberated throughout the valley and Two's arm, which was holding the gun shattered. That was right, it shattered.
Elrond's golden bullet passed through Two's palm and shattered all the bones in his arm instantly.
Two turned pale but he was also a ruthless person. He took a bottle of white powder from his backpack with his other hand and smeared it on the wound.
The blood that was spurting from his shoulder stopped.
Two's complexion turned slightly better. He leaned against a boulder and panted heavily.
He looked at the man who was smiling in front of him. That face seemed so familiar, but yet he did not recognize it.
A wave of anger attacked his brain.
"No— Why are you so strong? Weren't you supposed to be a piece of trash?"
Elrond ignored Ten, who was ready to make a move with his machete.
That person was a fool and in Elrond's eyes, he was worthless.
Elrond took a few steps toward Two and said, "Do you know what's so different about us?"
Two did not say anything. He calmed down and looked at Elrond.
"Or should I say, what is the biggest difference between you and me?"
Elrond glanced at Ten and suddenly made his move. A bullet flew out from the Golden Revolver and hit Ten's machete.
The huge force broke the machete into two pieces.
"The biggest difference between you guys and me is that you've been subconsciously treating me as your opponent ever since you gained your consciousness.
"Even though I was a fool in the base, did you thought that the experimental base was a fool as well?
"Why didn't they start the experimental subjects from One?
"Zero is the starting point of all numbers.
"My birth had determined that I am nobler than anyone of you.
"Unfortunately, none of you could see my true nature and treated me like a fool.
"So now that the truth has been revealed, you find it difficult to accept it.
"Do you think I'm right?"
He took out a piece of cloth and slowly wiped his Golden Revolver.
He really liked this gun.
He wiped it every day and was not afraid of it losing its luster.
Two took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down.
"So you're saying that I've been schemed against by you since the moment I left the forest?"
"No— From the moment you saw the billowing black smoke rising into the sky, you were already no match for me," said Elrond.
Two's shock exceeded his physical pain.
"What kind of brain does he possess?
"Could Zero really be the leader for all experimental subjects? How could he think of countermeasures so calmly, no matter what kind of situation he faces?
"Isn't that a little too terrifying?"
However, Two was also feeling contradictory. Why? Back at the base, he assumed that Zero was the most useless trash around.
He was not even fit to be called his opponent.
However, this person had never treated him and all the other experimental subjects as targets.
At this moment, Elrond walked over to Two with the Golden Revolver and said, "I'll give you a chance to live.
"How about the three of us play a game?"
—
"A game?"
"Yes, I want to play a game. What game are we playing?"
Before Two could say anything, Ten clapped enthusiastically.
Seeing Two glaring at him, Ten's excitement withered and said, "He has a gun and I'm afraid of him. But if he doesn't have a gun, we can play the game and I can kill him." Ten explained his thinking.
"Shut up."
Two almost fainted from anger. How could Ten tell the enemy such a thing?
He did not expect Zero to be so powerful.
Elrond killed more than 40 of them and appeared in front of them unscathed.
"Zero, how do you want to play this game? Don't expect us to beg for mercy."
Elrond took out his Golden Revolver and said, "This is the gun that killed so many of your brothers.
"Let's take turns playing Russian Roulette. There's one bullet inside and let's take turns firing to see who is the unlucky one. How about that?"
"This is so exciting! Let's play. If your head splits open, I get to eat your brain," said Ten, licking his lips.
Elrond smiled. "Ten, right? Don't worry. If you die, I'll feed your brain to the dogs. I'm a man of my word."
Saying that he shot himself without hesitation. It was an empty shot. Two and Ten shivered at the same time.
This was too ruthless.
Elrond threw the gun to Two and said, "It's your turn. Don't play tricks. You can't beat me."
Elrond had six arms behind him, and every hand held a gun. Some were assault rifles.
At such proximity, they were basically forced into a corner.
Two gritted his teeth, pointed the gun on his forehead, and pulled the trigger.
His hand shook slightly. He handed the gun to Ten, who said excitedly, "I've always been lucky."
After saying that, he picked up the gun and aimed it at his head. "Click, click."
Two shots.
Two's heart almost jumped out from his mouth. Why was he so tough? It was a revolver. There were six chambers and five were not loaded.
Ten took two shots. So if they were to count all the shots taken, there was only one unloaded chamber left.
If Elrond took a shot at himself and did not die, then the unlucky one would be Two.
But Elrond wasn't nervous. It was the Golden Revolver after all.
"Why isn't he nervous?"
Elrond picked up the Golden Revolver and pointed it at his temple. He pulled the trigger. "Bang."
