Chapter 4: visiting the town 'kendra'

after gaining his new power, Leon began to experiment, he found that 'accelerate' had a time limit that was half an hour, after that he'll be exhausted, he also found that his speed got a stronger boost than his strength, his speed now surpassed the athletes in earth.

noticing that night is coming soon, Leon decided to stop and look for a town or village, walking deeper into the forest, he activated his 'accelerate' and moved at his top speed while being careful of his surroundings, to avoid getting followed and surrounded.

Leon feeling the wind hit his face made his blood start bumping, he always dreamed of using magic, and that desire pushed him to watch anime, where he could be immersed in its stories.

deactivating 'accelerate', Leon exited the forest and made his way towards the town, on his way he saw a lot of carriages forming a line, entering and exiting the town, he noticed a guard wearing silver metal plates, checking each carriage before letting them in.

Leon seeing that his way in was through the guard started thinking,(so I'm naked, I have traces of blood on me and I have no history nor identity in this world, he'll think I'm crazy or a hobo, or worse, he could kill me I don't know how they do things around here, *sigh* I guess I'll look for clothes then bullshit my way in).

setting his eyes on a lone guy at the back of the line, Leon activated 'accelerate' and then sneaked his way to the poor man, after positioning himself behind the man, Leon hit him on his head, knocking the man out.

"Sorry, I need some clothes, I know you'll understand" smiled Leon as he undresses the man and then wears the stolen clothes," these clothes are anything but comfortable, but it's better than being naked" grumbled Leon.

spotting a bag next to the unconscious man, Leon happily takes it after finding 100 bronze coins,20 silver coins, and a golden one in it.

walking towards the guard, Leon started to act like a country bumpkin, amazed and looking frantically at everything around him, "hello good sir, my name is Leon".

the guard smiled at the kid, it wasn't his first time seeing a foolish kid," hey there, for what purpose did you decide to visit 'Kendra'?" the guard said to Leon, ( straight to the chase huh, perfect) Leon snickered.

"When I was a kid my dad used to tell me about the heroes in the past, and it is my dream to become a hero myself, that's why I left my hometown and started my adventure, my dad said that he grew up here, so I decided to visit this place and at the same time rest, BLA BLA BLA BLA ...."

"ok ok, i get it kid , you want to be a hero , i also had that dream when i was your age , can you show me your identity card?" the guard said , his head hurt from the kid's blabbering.

"an identity card? is it necessary to enter? sorry but i don't have it , is it possible to make one?" Leon said , making a sad face.

the guard , afraid of making the kid cry ,quickly said"don't worry , you can make one here , follow me", as he said this , Leon's face immediately brightened , sprouting a smile" thank you sir".

following the guard , they made their way towards a camp ,"alright take a seat, i'll ask you some questions using this lie detector , so just be honest"said the guard as he brought a glass circle.

(ah shit , why is a lie detector needed , i hope i don't get caught) Leon was nervous , but he kept a naive and happy look on his face, "alright"Leon said, as he sat on a chair and put his hand on the circle.

"this magic circle will shine red if you lie , so let's begin, what is your name?"

"Leon reid"the magic circle did not shine, seeing this, a man behind the guard started writing on a sheet of paper.

"why did you come here?"

"to become a hero" the magic circle stayed the same , as Leon technically didn't lie.

"what's your age?"

"15 years old"

"where did you come from?" Leon kept a calm face, but he was screaming in his mind, (shit shit shit! what should I say...)

"I come from a very far place" the gaurd raised his eyebrows at this answer.

"can you be more specific? didn't you say you came from a village?" Leon's body tensed up, readying for the worst.

But before the situation escalated, a device on the guard started ringing. "hello, sir. Yes, ...as you wish" the guard then looked at Leon.

"alright , with that finished , you can take your identity card" the guard said , taking a card from the man behind him then giving it to Leon.

"thank you, sir"taking the card , Leon felt relieved but still had his guard up, "you can call me Max by the way , and oh , i advise you to go to the inn, you can rest there and they also give the best meals in the town" the guard smiled at Leon.

"thank you , uncle Max , i'll go to the inn right away!" said Leon as he got up and left, (that...was easier than i thought) , as he entered the town , his attention was spiked by the many people that were walking around , there were cat people , dog people , heck he even saw a cow girl!

"yup! this is definitely a different world! ", as the sun began to set , he quickly went to a building that had a sign saying 'lunar inn'.

as he entered the inn , he was greeted by a black haired cat girl ,"hello nya~~ my name is catty nya~~ what can i do for you nya~~?"

Leon was distracted by the Nyas and her tail and ears that he forgot to speak , but he quickly composed himself and spoke"hello , can i rent a room? i came from a long journey and i need to rest"

"sure thing nya~~ , do you want to get breakfast too nya~~?"said catty , noticing the boy's gaze as he kept looking at her tail and ears.

"yes please , and can i get a meal right now? i'm kind of hungry"

"alright , that will be 2 silvers for the night and 20 bronze for the meal nya~~i should also tell you i'm not on the menu nya~~"the cat maid said , making Leon's face red.

"ah im sorry , its my first time seeing a cat person , so i couldn't help it"Leon said , which made catty grumble ,(so he wasn't interested in my charms nya~~? hmph!)

"here is the payment , i want the meal in my room please" said Leon , as he gave her the coins , he was led by catty to his room upstairs ,"this is your room nya~~ , the food will come shortly nya~~"

after entering the room , he found a single bed , a desk and a small table in the middle of the room, after a while , catty came with the food .

"here is the food nya~~" she put the food in front of the door and left , Leon took the meal inside of his room , the meal was eggs and a weird meat , the taste of the meat was incredible , every bite he took of it , juices will pour into his mouth .

after finishing the meal, he put the plate on the desk and went to bed , the bed was hard and uncomfortable , but he was tired so he quickly went to sleep.
