Weapon Affinity - Part 2

"Well, it was nice meeting you Rin, but time waits for no man, so good luck!" Casper shouted as he smiled menacingly before waving his hand and throwing Rin into the pagoda.

Which quickly opened its doors upon sensing a new visitor quickly approaching it, before closing them once again as it didn't sense anyone else approaching it.

Swoosh. Creak. Thud.

A few minutes later…

"Bro... sigh, why must all bigshots be such eccentric individuals?" Rin complained as he picked himself up and observed his new surroundings after being thrown away like a rag doll into the pagoda.

That was made of nothing but fluffy white clouds and contained weapons of various shapes and sizes, which could be seen resting within transparent crystal balls. That exuded varying energy pulses that ranged from weak to strong, even though Rin knew better than to base a weapon's power on its appearance.

"Sigh, so what exactly am I supposed to do now?" Rin wondered as he was never told how exactly his weapon affinity would be evaluated, 'Welp, I guess I can only look around for now until something happens.'

Rin signed as he began to inspect the weapons shelved on clouds one after another; not aware of the curious spirits who awoke from their slumber upon sensing he entered their resting place.

"J... j-just how bad is this generation that they would have to send a kid to be appraised and chosen by one of us?!" One of the spirits asked with bewilderment as there was no way this was real.

"Relax, Midas there must be something special about him for Casper of all people to send him here."

"B... B-But he is an only child, Regina!" Midas hollered as he pointed at Rin, "Who can't even for one handle 5% of our true power, and that's being generous!"

"Enough, Midas! Since you want to talk so much… why don't you ask him, why he carries the scent of an old friend?" Albert shouted with annoyance at Midas who was starting to get on his nerves with that awful attitude of his.

"Tsk, *sniff* you all always bully me, just wait until I tell Azura about how you all have been treating me!" Midas exclaimed as fake tears ran down his face even though he complied with their order anyway.

"But on a serious note, why does the kid carry the scent of Cypress?" Regina wondered as she waited for Midas to approach Rin.

"Hey, kid why do you carry the scent of a Primordial Dragon?" Midas asked as he appeared before Rin in his spirit form, a man in his late thirties who wore an embroidered robe made from golden silk and had long braided blond hair and golden eyes.

"Um… what Primordial Dragon scent, sir?" Rin asked a bit confused by the blond man's question as he didn't sense any weird smell coming from his body.

"Did you by any…"

"Forget it, Albert as the scent is too faint to indicate he's interacted with a Primordial Dragon, especially one that has died during the Millenium War of Divine, " Scarlet stated as glanced at Albert and shook his head regretfully as he knew how much Albert longed to see his master, Cypress one last time.

"Sigh, I guess I was just overthinking after all…" Albert muttered as he signed and returned to his orb.

"Sorry, Albert I~"

"It's okay Scarlet, there's no need to feel sorry for me, as it was my greatest blessing to be of service to such an amazing master," Albert claimed as he stopped and smiled at Scarlet before entering his orb and falling asleep.

"Now look what you did, Midas!" Regina said as she slapped Midas's forehead.

"Ouch! What was that for as I wasn't the one who…"

"You'd better shut up before I hit you again," Regina whispered menacingly causing Midas to instantly shut up as he didn't dare disobey Regina's command.

"Hmm, what a loyal puppy, I have… now then, let's see what's so special about you kid for Casper to send you here," Regina muttered as she turned around and began to approach Rin just as Midas dashed into his orb and began throwing all types of slurs and profanities at her.

Yet, while exhilarating and empowering for Midas; Regina couldn't hear or understand what he said as Azura silenced Midas, the moment he realized he was about to disrespect a young lady.

Meanwhile…

"Why are you still here?" Crystal asked Casper as she waited for her son to come out.

"Who knows, but in due time I shall be state-free… until then I am but a man carrying a fading wish," replied Casper mysteriously as he glanced at the pagoda with curiosity and hope.

"Again, with the cryptic messages, Casper!" Crystal asked, annoyed at the fact that whenever she tried to talk with him, he resorted to saying riddles as if it was uncommon to have a normal conversation.

"Tsk, what do you want, wife of Adam?" Casper asked as he looked at Crystal and squinted his eyes.

"The reason why you haven't yet entered the pool of reincarnation?"

"Sorry, but some secrets just can't be spoken, or else all will cease," Casper claimed as he stood up and stared at the door.

As his eyes began to glow in anticipation as if what he had been waiting for had finally come to fruition. Just as the door of the pagoda began to shudder as if something was trying to break free, causing the Laws of Heaven and Earth within the small pocket world to go crazy.

As the wild cackle of a clown could be heard coming from behind the door as time seemed to slow down. Until everything just stopped before the golden doors of the pagoda swung open with a boom releasing a wave of energy.

That spread through the pocket world and even the outside world as the town of Kura suffered a minor earthquake. Due to the silhouette of a person slowly emerging from behind the doors of the fabled Weapon Hall of Legends that morphed into a kid holding a semitransparent reddish-golden scythe.

Which had markings of some beast spiraled along its body and a curved blade made from a silverish-black metal, which had nine scratches on its surface and three teardrops near its beard.

Simultaneously as Rin walked out of the Weapon Hall of Legends, the Laws of Heaven and Earth reverted to normal. Just before the pocket world began to collapse and the once-famous weapon hall of the Kurama Clan disappeared with a poof.
