The Start of a New Day

Beep. Beep. Beep.

"Hmm… what time is it?" Rin yawned as he turned off his alarm and glanced at the ceiling. Taking in the fact that he was finally back and could live life the way he wanted to from now on.

[It is about 8:00 am, Rin the perfect time for you to get up and begin your day.]

'Someone sounds enthusiastic about their day ahead?' Rin thought as he got out of bed and did some morning stretches, before proceeding to walk to the center of his room to meditate, where a round plain brown carpet was positioned on the floor between his bed and dresser.

[Of course, as today is a blessing given to us by our Creator!]

'Tsk, if she was so high mighty then tell me why she hasn't yet arrived to quell the disturbance caused by that anomaly, who appeared a few years ago in the higher realms?' Rin asked as it was a bit weird to praise someone who would later discard the same people, who worshipped her if they could prevent the death of thousands.

[Sigh… while that may be true, not everyone is worthy to be personally saved by the Creator. But that is a discussion for another as it seems, it is time for us to part ways, so I'll talk to you later, Rin. Bye!]

'Later, Rose…' Rin said as he finally closed his eyes after sitting in a half-lotus position for the past two minutes just staring at his dresser. Before muttering breakthrough causing his entire body to heat up as his accumulated XP reverted to zero.

Just as the crisp sound of a chain breaking sounded from his body, announcing his ascension to Sky Chaser from Earth Cultivator. Followed by a system notification that informed him he earned ten attribute points and a mastery chest. Yet even though it was just the increase of a single rank it was the difference between Heaven and Earth as Sky Chasers earned the ability to comprehend flight.

A fundamental spell needed to traverse the skies, however, that was only one of the benefits of becoming a Sky Chaser as you also gained a heightened comprehension of movement-based skills and techniques. With the addition of being eligible to enter the Trials of Air, a common yet dangerous mystic realm that could be found anywhere in the Cosmos.

But while impressive and monumental to Rin this wasn't enough as there were too many things out there that could kill him and hinder him from one day becoming a Supreme! An entity that stands at the peak of power and has control dominion over Chaos and Order and can even bend reality with just a thought.

So just as Rin stabilized his cultivation, he immediately began meditating as he slowly inhaled and exhaled while solely focusing on the rhythm of his heartbeat, which at first sounded like a faint murmur but as time passed it grew louder and louder until that was all he could hear.

Leading him to subconsciously use the Heart Mantra which allowed his heart to be the gateway required for him to gain a deeper understanding of his current realm and the world around him. As he immersed himself in the feeling of getting stronger which caused him to lose track of time as he became one with nature and used the spiritual energy between heaven and earth to temper himself.

Gaining a deeper understanding of what it means to be a Sky Chaser and a further comprehension of his skills as with every breath he took the energy surrounding him was refined and absorbed into his body. Becoming nourishment for his cultivation as it strengthened his body, soul, and mind to new heights.

An hour later…

"Now that was refreshing," Rin exclaimed with a smile as he opened his eyes, before standing up and doing some light yoga to alleviate his body of the accumulated soreness caused by mediating for so long.

[Tsk, refreshing? What is refreshing in doing such a boring & time-consuming task?]

'Come on, it isn't that boring now?'

[When you attain the same cultivation as me then you will understand why I and everyone else hate meditating. But until then pipe down, kid as you still have much to experience and learn about our world!]

'Well, that sucks… hopefully, once I reach your level, I will still enjoy such a relaxing task as that feeling of myself growing stronger with every breath, I take is just too addictive!' Thought Rin as he entered the bathroom to brush his teeth and take a nice warm bath, something he deserved considering this was his first official day back.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Multiverse Y – Sector 13, two brothers could be seen discussing something in one of the imperial boxes of the Colosseum as they occasionally observed the fight between a Peak Celestial Tiger Barbarian and a newly ascended Divine Warlock.

"Jeremiah, do you think Luke faked his death?" Lucifer asked out of nowhere as he fiddled with a dagger.

"Why would you think that? Did you manage to uncover something, Lucy?" Jeremiah asked as sipped on a glass of Hennessy while glancing curiously at his brother.

"Ugh! What did I tell you about calling me that, Jeremiah!" Lucifer shouted as he stood up and left their box to get some fresh air.

Thud.

'Sigh, no matter how old he gets he's still but a kid at the end of the day.' Jeremiah thought as he shook his head and continued to watch the fight which was taking place in one of the many miniature arenas scattered through the Colosseum.

Which were handcrafted from the wings of Griffin and the shells of a Scaled Crystal Tortoise and were engraved with a Six Star Twilight array. A highly advanced array that could not only protect the audience from any harm but also prevent the death of a participant, if they surrendered in time.

Along with providing the audience members who couldn't see the fight an opportunity to view it if they paid 10 crystals to acquire a magic mirror.

After freshening up and tidying up his room, Rin finally made his way downstairs to see what was on the menu for breakfast today.

"Morning Cherry, so what's the menu for today?!" asked Rin upon entering the kitchen.

"Morning, Young Master Rin; so, what's the occasion as you usually just make me or one of the maids bring your food to you?" Cherry asked as she began taking out the ingredients for today's meal.

"Well, besides the fact that it isn't Christmas, Cherry is it a problem for a king to eat with peasants every once and a while?" Rin asked sarcastically as he spun himself around on one of the kitchen stools.

"No, your majesty I just thought peasants like us, couldn't hold a candle to the radiance of your room," She replied as she played along with him before his mother came downstairs and reprimanded both of him and Cherry.

"Nonsense, just who could've~" Rin was about to say before his mother grabbed his ear and dragged him outside.

"Ouch! Ouch! Mom, it was just a joke… I promise this is my last time," Christian begged as tears swelled in his eyes from the pain.

"Tsk, I will deal with you later, mister but you Cherry I expected so much more from you, considering your reputation and history. But it seems my son has led you to forget why you're here and the purpose of your employment as our one and only chief/caretaker!" Crystal shouted as she came downstairs and stumbled upon the scene of Rin and Cherry acting like fools in a play.

"Sorry, Madam it won't again!" Cherry shouted as she bowed and immediately began to work on breakfast, while Rin could only just stay silent as he knew if he spoke, he would just make the situation worse for Cherry.
