Spar - Part 2

"So, do you still believe you can still kill me?" Rin asked with a smile as fighting was always the fastest and most efficient way to get a read on your current capabilities.

"Of course, you're just a slippery eel at the end of the day, which needs to be chopped, stir-fried, and placed on a plate for serving." Gabriella said as she gripped Oblivion tightly and took a deep breath before shouting, "Seventh Sword of The Sinner: First Form – Wrath!"

As she swung Oblivion, resulting in everything within a hundred meters of them being chopped in half as a massive destructive slash of blackish-purple energy flew toward Rin.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! CRACK! WHOOSH!

"Haha! You are a funny one, Gabriella… but it will take more than a borrowed butcher's knife to kill me," Rin stated as his whole demeanor changed as he gripped Scarlet and muttered Heart Mantra causing the energy within their surroundings to rush towards him.

"Hmm, this should be enough," Rin muttered to himself as he closed his eyes and whispered, "Nullify," a new technique he created based on his shallow understanding of the Law of Nothingness.

Which has the potential to negate everything and anything from attacks to even Laws, if Rin ever manages to one day comprehend this Ancient Law. However, while Rin took this time to relax, Gabreilla's attack was swiftly approaching him as he swung Scarlet downward.

Producing a small slash of grayish energy that collided with her attack and consumed it as if it were nothing. Causing there to be no sonic boom or flashy explosion, like what most thought and imagined.

"I… I-Impossible, just what type of freak of nature and am I dealing with!" Gabriella exclaimed as she thought that would for sure end Rin.

"Sorry to disappoint you, beautifully but while impressive you are still too weak… nonetheless, good try and I hope to spar with you more often Gabriella," Rin whispered with a smile as he appeared behind Gabriella and tapped her shoulder.

"Huh? Wait, just when did you~" She screamed after realizing Run was behind her.

"Shh! There is no need to scream for I am but a mirage, my love," Rin chuckled, "But any who peace and I'll see at school, Gabriella, ciao~" Rin said just as he was about to send her to the dream realm.

"STOP!" The Elder who was overseeing the fight shouted as he teleported to Gabriella's location.

Swoosh.

"… wait, but Uncle Gio, I could still fight, please allow me to…" Gabriella pleaded as she could not afford to lose especially not like this when she was so close to acquiring his approval and the right to stand beside him.

"Sigh, it is all right, Gabriella, I know how much this meant to you, but a loss is a loss. However, if you truly desire to stand beside him then use this time as a chance to eliminate your weaknesses and grow stronger! For he is a star that will only continue to shine brighter, if you allow his luminosity to overshadow your radiance, Gabriella." Her uncle said telepathically to her as she slumped to the ground and took his words to heart before standing up, dusting herself off, and suddenly hugging Rin as she kissed him on the cheek.

Before dashing away in embarrassment as a small smile graced her face, 'While I may not be able to stand with you now, Rin… one day I surely will, no matter the mountains I must climb or the obstacles I must face! One day, I will be able to stand beside you not only as a shoulder to lean on but as your wife and best friend!'

Gabriella boldly promised as she committed herself to becoming better for her future husband, so that she may be able to one day carry his burdens. But for now, she was but a little girl who was unaware that this promise of hers would not only change her life but also Rin's.

"Well, Rin congratulations on winning my little princess heart!" Elder Gio smiled as he patted Rin's shoulder, "But if you ever dare to break it, Hmph! You better count your days for her father is not someone even the Kurama Clan in the higher realms would dare mess with. But considering how Destiny has brought y'all together I am sure that will never happen, so good luck, Rin Jasper Kurama for your journey has just started, kid."

The Elder chuckled before vanishing as he sensed Adam and Crystal approaching.

"…" Rin, 'Sigh… just why me, God like don't you see I'm but fifteen and barely even lived life yet?'

[Hmm, you are coming quite the flirt, Rin! Please do tell me your secret, O Wise One for surely, you must be able to teach the young and guide the old?!]

'Shut up, Rose!'

[Gasp! O Wise One please do not turn me away for I am but a humble servant in need of guidance!]

'… forget it, I'm just going to ignore you because if not I'm going to miss the premiere of Riverside Dragon.'

[Okay, okay I will stop but for real you better hope and pray you do not break her heart for that old man was not lying, Rin.]

'I could tell, but still… just who is Gabreilla's Dad for even the upper branch to not want to mess with him?' Rin pondered before dismissing such thoughts as it was pointless to worry about something he knew he would not be able to find the answer to anytime soon.

"So how was it?" Adam winked as he saw the little exchange between his son and Eveline's niece.

"Interesting but satisfying enough," muttered Rin, unaware that his father was not asking about the spar.

"Hmm, so you wished she was even more bold, huh?" Adam said as he eyed his son and shook his head, 'Truly the younger generation will surely surpass the old in both appetite and achievements.'

"Wait, wait hold up… don't tell me," Rin said as he realized what his father was insinuating, "Sigh, forget it lets just go home already as I only have thirteen minutes before it begins."

"Rin?"

"Yes, Mom?"

"Congratulations, Rin and if you truly do plan to pursue her… please, be honest with her and yourself as nothing hurts more than lying to someone, who loves you and acting as if everything's okay when it's not," Crystal said as she hugged her son.

"I will, Mom, and thanks for the advice," Rin replied softly.

"You're welcome my little munching."

"Mom! Stop, I am not a little kid anymore, also, we only have ten minutes before the broadcasting begins so can we please hurry home? As I can't afford to miss the first episode of season 2 of RDN." Rin asked as he tried to escape his mom's kisses yet the only response, he got was a fit of laughter from his parents.

"Wait! Before you go... um, this is your reward for winning the competition, Rin." Eveline's assistant Ashley said as she appeared beside Rin and handed him a storage ring. Before disappearing just as swiftly as she arrived to go take care of some urgent matters.

"Thanks," Rin said as he inspected the ring briefly and placed it within his multi-K.

Before finally departing from the Shinobi Clan and returning to Kyoto to watch the premiere and train for admission into Forbidden Blood. One of the seven academies scattered across the globe created to nurture the next generation of heroes and villains of tomorrow's future.
