Lunch Break - Part 1

"Sigh... so much for trying to stay lowkey," Rin muttered as he exited the principal's office and began making his way toward the classroom.

'So, Ezekiel do you think, she... tsk, how could I forget, "don't disturb me as you're now strong enough to figure things out on your own." Sigh, just when will I attain a life I can just eat, sleep, and shit without a care in the world?' Rin was about to ask before remembering what Ezekiel told him before classes began.

"Hey! Kid what are you doing outside of your classroom?!" A security guard nearby shouted the moment he caught a suspicious person snooping around the principal's office.

"Truly this can't be a coincidence, right?" Rin wondered as the moment he left the principal's office a security guard randomly just showed up. Truly this could not be really but then what are the chances of this occurring?

Considering if caught, the principal now has a reasonable excuse to expel Rin, or worse force him into a situation where he must agree to ill-favored terms in exchange for his cooperation.

"Fuck it! let's be delinquents for today!" Rin laughed as he glanced at the security guard before dashing off toward the cafeteria.

Swoosh!

"Hey kid, I wouldn't do that if I were you… think about the reputation of your family for a moment, maybe we could work something out. After you can provide me with a form of identification and a treasure or two as compensation for wasting my time." The security guard uttered with a crooked smile the moment he realized what Rin was about to do.

"Sorry, but I can assure you my family could care less if I brought them honor," Rin replied as he stopped briefly and glanced at the security guard with a smile before resuming their game of cat and mouse.

Even though he knew deep down inside that was a lie, since what family would not want to see their children achieve success and bring honor to their family name?

"Stop with the lies, kid as you are way too young to be speaking to your elders like that," The security guard said with a frown as he chased after Rin.

Yet, no matter how fast he ran it seemed as if he could never catch up with Rin and with time, the distance between them just continued to increase. Until he could not even see Rin's shadow or even hear his shoes connecting with the concrete.

'Fuck, is this kid on drugs or something?!' The security guard thought as he breathed heavily, almost passing out in the process.

"H...h-hey, kid *wheeze* I know we got on the wrong foot... but could you maybe give me a hand." The security guard said as stopped and tried to regulate his breathing.

"Sorry, buddy but I think you are the one who's too old to be lying to a kid. So, peace, and I will see you around, man!"

"Hmph, just wait until I tell the chief hears about this, kid! You better hope your family has nine live, or else mark my words your ass is grass."

"Well, then you better hope those friends of yours aren't useless, or else that dream will never be fulfilled, my friend but any who thanks for the exercise," Rin replied with a smile as he took one last glance at the security guard and turned the corner.

Disappearing just before the boss and his lackeys could apprehend him, since the moment the security guard stopped to catch his breath. He radioed his friends for backup, without taking into consideration that Rin might notice this slight detail.

"Hugo, be honest with me just who did you piss off now.?" The chief of Forbidden Blood's security team asked with a sigh as he glanced at his nephew.

"Uncle, no one I promise... well, except for that snotty-nosed brat from the Fang family and maybe the kid, who I was chasing but the latter is most likely to be some freshmen who thought it was cool to skip class."

"Hopefully, it stays that way, Hugo, but moving forward you got to learn to depend upon yourself. As I won't always be here to protect you, mi sobrino." The chief said as he shook his head before glancing at Yak, "So how bad is the situation?"

"Critical, sir! But as long as we don't piss him off or injure his cousin everything should be green, sir." Yak said as he looked through Rin's information, "Oh and it says that he is a descendant of the Kurama Clan, sir."

"As long as he isn't a vengeful person, let's just write this off as a warning for the record. Oh, and Hugo, your father asks for your attendance at your sister's quinceanera on the 15th of March."

"Tsk... bastard couldn't even send me an actual invitation letter. Am I that much of a failure in his eyes?"

"Hugo!"

"Forget it, uncle tell him I'll be there but only because it's Savannah's birthday," Hugo spat as he walked away and returned to his post.

'Sigh... just how is it possible for two stubborn fools, who can't bear each other's presence yet desperately wish for each other's acceptance to coexist? When the very foundation of their relationship has disappeared and left them without a word or even a goodbye kiss.'

Hugo's uncle thought as he watched his nephew walk away with a heavy heart, which sought love yet could not find it as it denies the very place where it exists.

Back in the classroom...

"So, I know some of you might be wondering where Rin is and why there was a crowd outside the tower. The moment you all finished climbing to the 25th floor and exited, well to be honest I have no clue so why you all do not ask him?"

"Hmm, sharp senses, Prof. Niko, but I think it'd be more reasonable for you to explain my situation as you know more about the subject than me," Rin said after trying to sneak into the classroom quietly and failing miserably.

"Oh, well is not that a bummer, but as they say, 'the show must go on,' so let us first go over the rankings then y'all's footage, and finally what each of you can do to improve. As I'm sure everyone's ready to go to lunch just like me." Niko said as kept an eye on Rin.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

"..." Everyone in the classroom.

"Sigh, saved by the bell, huh? Well, then class dismissed, and I hope you all have a wonderful day." Niko said after a while that gave him more time to prepare and better assess the situation.

"I hope you do too, Prof. Niko!" The entire class said before exiting the classroom and rushing toward the cafeteria as no one wanted to miss the special for today, or the chance to secure a rooftop table.
