Fragments of a Forgotten Past - Part 1

Simultaneously as this occurred, something within the depths of Soul Palace came to life…

Awakening Pharoah from his slumber as a safety mechanism implanted by Ezekiel sprung to life and began to heal Rin of the damage sustained to his heart. A vital organ for any cultivator as it contains the purest form of life essence, cultivated through a cultivator's lifespan.

Yet, that was not all as during this moment of vulnerability, a portion of Ezekiel's memories buried deep within Rin's Soul Palace and mind. Began to awaken unleashing a torment of emotions as bits and pieces of a forgotten past began to override Rin's mind.

However, before that could happen, Pharaoh took over and repaired the seal placed upon Rin's mind and soul.

"Tsk, for an undying entity, you surely have a knack for causing problems wherever you go, Noctis," Pharaoh said as he lifted himself off the ground and glared at the idiot who caused all this.

"Relax, Pharaoh it was but a test… plus, where's Fred as that's who I wanted to talk to considering, we can't wait until Ezekeil's current reincarnation ascends to begin," Noctis said seriously as many things have been happening recently in the God Realm from when that devil jumped into the abyss to the death of an Empyrean.

"Hmm, I thought Fred and his wife died back in… Oh, so that would explain, why the top and bottom are sealed off," Pharaoh muttered as he remembered two specific places, he could not enter no matter what.

"Bingo! Now, get Fred as I do not have much time before I must return to my plane." Noctis said with urgency as he at max ten minutes before an Eldritch came and escorted him back to Tera.

"Sure, however, whether or not he'll entertain your suggestion is up to fate, Noctis," Pharaoh said just as he was about to try and see, whether Fred was held in the basement or the attic.

"Relax, Pharaoh you don't have to disturb my wife as she's already fed up enough," Fred sighed as he gazed at the utmost floor of Rin's Soul Palace or as most would call it the attic.

"Okay, well then good luck, Fred as I'm going to return to my slumber and replenish the strength, I lost trying to seal something that eventually be disclosed," Pharaoh said as he yawned and returned to Rin's soul core.

'Sigh, just why must I be the one to always deal with headaches and idiots, who only know how to create problems than solve issues.' thought Fred as he went to go confront Ink and find out what he wanted after fixing the aftereffects of his actions before things escalated to a point of no return.

Meanwhile, as Rin's situation began to get better, a blackish fog began to ooze from his body without him noticing…

That engulfed the entire room in darkness as it devoured all the light that once existed in his room except for the silhouette of a figure that shined brighter than the sun. Yet exuded an aura darker than the void and more dreadful than an Abyssal Lord.

That had a body made of clouds held together by a string of faint goldish-black threads, which ran throughout its body like veins along with a pair of reddish piercing eyes and a smile. That brought light to the Cosmos, a light once thought to have been extinguished long ago.

"Sigh... just what who would've thought it'd take me, The Great Scourge of the Apocalypse, 10,000 years to find a measly reincarnation of my dear long-lost brother. So, we could reunite one last time under the alignment of the stars and start Project Rewrite once again like old times," Noctis whispered to himself before taking his eyes off Rin and focusing on the planet, his brother picked to reincarnate.

After, using one of the racial traits of their race to teleport to Rin's location and mask his presence from Heaven's Gaze, which was sadly still in dormancy within Rin's body. But will eventually awaken on its own once he ascends or at least increases the synchronicity between him and Cloud, the Bloodline Ancestor of Rin. [Check Chapter 5: Death of a Legend]

"Well... well, I think it's about time we got this show started, wouldn't you say so, Fred?" Noctis asked as his voice bypassed the security system of the half-dead system, finding its way to the guardian spirit of the lower levels of Rin's Soul Palace.

That was still functioning within Rin's body yet without a pilot, it was just a piece of scrap metal that could not provide him with any assistance.

"What do you want, Scourge? As this better not be another one of your attempts to reawaken the prince before his anticipated time yet again as all that will achieve is another pointless death." Fred stated with annoyance as he could already see where this was going to lead.

"Not so fast, pal just hear me out for a sec. What if we just broke the memory into fragments and allowed him to slowly digest and assimilate with them? One at a time instead of trying to allow him to absorb everything at once before he enters the 6 Paths of Reincarnation."

"It's feasible, but why would I go through such a hassle for you Scourge?"

"Tsk, I know we have our differences but come on Fred, this might be our only chance to rebuild what was lost in the great war. Don't you want to see a future where we are finally free of that bitch's control?!"

"Who doesn't... but still I'm the one who has to handle this whole procedure as your dumbass can't tell a teaspoon of salt from a lump of sugar." chuckled Fred, "But I guess we can give it a try if you can give me a silver of your soul for safekeeping that is."

"Don't bite off more than you can chew Fred as the Laws of Chaos aren't something just anyone can withstand or even understand. But here, you greedy bastard," Scourge said with a grunt as plucked a speck of his soul carefully with caution as he tried to avoid the parts, submerged in chaos and corruption.

"Thank you, my good sir, and it was a pleasure doing business with you," Fred stated with glee as he accepted the gift with care before storing it away somewhere safe as he went to complete his part of the deal.

While Rin awoke and Noctis vanished off to somewhere to acquire the strength he lost, in this transaction.
