58. Beware the Deity of Gods part 7

Everything in this world reacts based on events. If they're good the reactions are going to be positive from the receiver. Things are the other way around when you're faced with something bad or dangerous, the reactions should be fast and studied in less than seconds to avoid the terrible aftermath and that's something Dybbuk missed because she was blinded by her desire to destroy the three in front of her and kill Cleo to swallow the dark mana within her before it moves to someone else.

What she didn't know that everything was studied by Cleo the second she opened her eyes, when she looked around and found herself in that room, she knew nothing good will come out of it, that's why she tried to focus all her mana on finding out who her enemy was and how strong she was.

To Cleo's surprise, Dybbuk wasn't strong at all compared to what she had thought, she expected a cunning person to fight against, but she wasn't that at all, she was a fighter type of monster which was her strength point as for her weakness, she focuses on muscles more than brain.

"Heyyaaaa!!" Dybbuk wielded her sword like hands, but Cleo kept escaping them as if they're nothing, though they were filled with dark mana which helped in increasing their speed and damage. So, if those swords at very least scratched her... Who knows what would happen...

Cleo remained stoic while avoiding every swing, she controlled her emotions to not let the dark mana take the lead instead of herself. It was pretty hard with the way Dybbuk kept pestering her off with every line related to the previous owner of the dark mana and how the two were way different.

"Are you really that empty, Dybbuk?" She whispered to her ear before she stabbed her in the stomach. Dybbuk gasped and turned her eyes toward Cleo who remained cold with the empty blackhole eyes.

She held her wrist while blood streamed down the hole Cleo caused, she started to feel cold recalling how things were for her when she first died, everything's the same, nothing changed. Death still feels cold.

"Haaa, haha. This is funny..." She mumbled before she dropped between Cleo's arms. Something flashed making Cleo also faint and drop them two to the ground.

"Cleo!?"

"Master!?" The two ran to her, System 0 opened a gate while Cheche held her between his arms and rushed after him to give her the first aids assuming she used a lot of her dark mana.

Sobbing was heard clearly but Cleo didn't want to open her eyes, her head was hurting her a lot and the dark mana wouldn't shut up about her failure, "failure my ass, I almost lost my darn life"

'Yea, you say that but look at yourself! If only you let me deal with her you wouldn't even be here!!'

"Where are we?" She scratched her head and looked around searching for any hint or clue but all she saw was destruction.

'You ask a lot'

"And you talk a lot" a vein popped out from her forehead almost reaching her limit with that black thing inside her head, 'excuse you, I've been silenced since forever so having the chance to talk again feels amazing!!'

"No wonder you were silenced" she mumbled while walking toward the sobbing sound owner, she looked between the rocks and destroyed buildings, yet she found nothing. Few minutes later, the sound got louder itching her ears, she walked slowly without making any noise and finally found the owner of the annoying noises.

While walking down the rocks hill, she accidently tripped causing some small rocks to fall and hit the ground making the person in the far end of the huge and destroyed circle flinch and rise from their place and search for the reason, it was dark there, but the trembling body was seen clearly under the small light line coming from the lasting part of the roof.

Cleo kept going down even though the dark mana kept warning her to stop and that nothing good will happen if she approached that thing, but she didn't listen and kept going.

"Wh- Who are you? A- Are yo- You a friend o- Or a fo- Foe?" She kept trembling putting her hands close to her heart as if she almost had a heart attack, Cleo studied the woman in front of her carefully ignoring her question. She then looked at her scratched face and squinted her eyes on the view in front of her before she leaned a hand to the face that got something in her stomach to twist from discomfort, but she halted when the woman asked the same question again.

"Who are you?" She gazed carefully at Cleo getting wary of her. For some reasons, she found her someone dangerous and can't be around but she's afraid her assumptions are wrong, and she did her wrong by thinking like that. Cleo didn't let her down and smiled sweetly making the shivering woman to calm down a bit but the next second, she was horrified, "I'm a foe"

The woman turned white, and her trembling body got out of control, her blue eyes turned a whole black and her blonde locks turned white. She opened her mouth widely and tears started streaming down her eyes. Strong blow of wind came out of nowhere and surrounded her before, with all she got, she screamed.

Her screams blew toward Cleo who didn't expect such an attack and crushed her toward the rocks hill, 'testing the water now, aren't you?' The dark mana commented on what just happened making Cleo growl while trying to stand up, "shut up"

'Oh, please don't get mad mister master, I'm just helping you by commenting on your bad moves' Cleo glared at it before her eyes turned a whole white. The woman blew another scream toward her sending Cleo flying, "shit" she gritted her teeth, "Horus!" She yelled and pulled out Crook and Flail before she turned them into gloves. Her flying body moved down by the speed of lightning that started to electrify around her before her two punches hit the ground cracking it open.

Rays of light cracked the ground open and came out as blades blazing whatever touched it. As for the woman, she had already jumped away and was about to release another scream, but Cleo preceded her in that and punched her right on the face shutting her mouth.

The woman fell face first and tried to stand up, but she couldn't because of dizziness, she started crying again while pulling herself up, but she stopped when a big shadow loomed on her.

She gasped when she turned and saw Cleo's first, she was silent and watching her closely and that made her uncomfortable, she wanted to push her away but no matter what she did, she would look back at that expressionless face.

"Stare-" Cleo whispered darkness started to form behind her, "- Closely" she ordered her.

"Keep gazing Dybbuk, and watch the abyss-" Cleo's face started to fade away behind the darkness only her black eyes were glowing in the middle of it, "-As it stares back at you"

Dybbuk gasped and her body started to tremble, from the middle of the darkness that already filled the place, Cleo's hand came out and was extended to Dybbuk who was hesitant to accept it. She looked back and forth at the glowing eyes and hand in front of her and decided to not accept.

Cleo watched her shake her head and take her hands back, "you're shivering, come and let darkness warm you-" Dybbuk looked back at the glowing eyes and tried to listen closely, "- Aren't you lonely? Come, and let me be the friend who was a foe. Let me be the first to show you what warmth, friends and family is like" glowing white smile appeared and made Dybbuk tears to stream before she started crying loudly and running to Cleo's arms.

Cleo held her closely and started patting her while hushing her, "everything will be ok, now and forever"

"Please- hic- Please live longer master, sobs, b- Be aware o- Of"

"The Deity of Gods?" Cleo finished her sentence. She looked at the sky and her mana exploded after sensing glaring eyes on her, she aimed black blades toward those eyes' direction but when the dark sand soldiers looked around, they found nothing.

"I'll live long... You and me"
