When Liu Guanyi stepped into the blue area, he experienced firsthand what was described as the so-called "Sacred Waters" by the guardian. Indeed, it was truly different just as he had expected, but not to this extent.
The sacred water did not suffocate him, rather it somehow energized him!
Maybe this was the reason he got less tired previously? Also, unlike the usual water, it didn't make him float, however it did have a resistance property that normal water had but at a lesser level.
Unfortunately, his musing had to be ended too soon as the white steel eel sensed a trespasser in its territory, and oh boy… how hungry it was. As with common sense, the hungrier a predator was, the more desperate it was, and with desperation, the more ferocious it would be.
Liu Guanyi saw the eel swimming rapidly in his direction. Seeing the monstrosity moving toward him to eat him, he did not get flustered a bit. His eyes paid attention to its speed, calculating the time needed for it to close the distance.
As an experienced warrior he knew what the most important element in a battle or even a war was. Many would say that it was strength. Others would argue that it was intelligence or information. Another would consider techniques and so on.
But to Liu Guanyi, with his hundreds of years of knowledge and experience on the battlefield, he would say with certainty that it was "Initiative".
Why initiative?
Because as long as someone held the initiative over their opponent in the battle, although they might not be able to win, as long as they had the initiative, they could easily retreat.
The greatest example of holding the initiative was if someone had greater mobility compared to their enemy.
If they attacked, the only option their enemy could only take was to defend, and when their enemy attacked, they could dodge it and counter-attack them instantly.
If the enemy was too strong and they couldn't take them down, they could simply run away and the enemy could do nothing about it.
However, it wasn't only about mobility but many other aspects as well. If someone captured their enemies' beloved or family, it was also a kind of "initiative" as it would give him more options and advantage over his opponents.
Having the ability to decide when to strike and retreat at will, that was the essence of holding the initiative.
Although it didn't mean that something like techniques, strategy, information, and all the other things that should be considered in a battle weren't worth paying attention to.
Now, the giant eel was only a few meters away from him. It opened his long beak showing its menacing sharp rows of teeth ready to tear him apart.
'A bit more' He calculated.
As the eel's beak was only a meter away from him he leaped forward to the left, narrowly avoiding being eaten as the eel closed its beak.
Creeaaaaak!!
Frustrated of not catching its long-awaited meal, the eel screeched, sending a piercing sound wave that managed to damage his auditory organ and destabilize his body as he groaned in pain, not suspecting the freaking eel could produce such a scream as a bird could.
The eel swiftly swam back to him, opening his massive beak, intending on eating him as a whole. Realizing the danger, Liu Guanyi tried to move away but as the distance was too close, he calculated that he would be eaten unless he could somehow move faster.
Martial Technique: Demon's Heart!
Suddenly his heart rate increased exponentially as the blood flowing explosively through his blood vessels pumped at a much faster pace like a machine, giving him much greater endurance and explosive energy. On his fair skin, crimson red hues appeared indicating just how fast his blood circulation became.
His feet kicked the ground with force to leap away from the eel and he managed to avoid it in midair as he landed back with a roll to mitigate the force.
Liu Guanyi quickly deactivated his technique as the red hues on his skin disappeared and his heart rate returned back to normal.
The technique was obviously good. However, he cannot use it extensively at the moment since the burden to his body was too much for his weak, untrained body.
The eel however did not want to give up its meal and continued its relentless assault. It swam up to prepare its charge.
Liu Guanyi understood that he couldn't let himself be caught off guard and relied on "Demon's Heart" again as he made a run forward following the eel.
The eel was certainly a behemoth of its own class, with such a huge and long body even bigger than the greatest beast that he had ever fought. Combined with its unimpeded mobility in the sacred water, it was truly one of its own kind. Against such an undefeatable monster, his chances to survive were bleak.
However, the eel had its own defects and shortcoming, its intelligence. He had observed from the previous clash, that it didn't use other parts of its body other than the beak to deliver its attacks.
If the eel used his body to slam or its tail to slap him, with its strength he probably won't be able to move anymore. In short, it only relied on its instinct as a predator that always hunted using its beak.
Secondly, its huge and long body. As long as he moved to the middle section of its body continuously, the eel couldn't easily land any attacks from either end of its body.
He quickly made his decision as to when the eel finished swimming up and ready to charge, it didn't see its prey. Confused about not finding him, it moved around looking for its prey.
It lasted for a while until it got angry and swam upward until it almost hit the ceiling, and finally, the eel found the slippery shrimp.
Enraged at being played around by what it regarded as prey, it made a sharp dive toward him. Helped by the momentum, its speed surpassed the previous one.
He stood there anticipating the dive as he knew he couldn't outrun the monster. The eel dived as it rapidly closed the distance.
When it was only a few meters away, red hues appeared on Liu Guanyi's skin as he quickly jumped out of its trajectory!
Booooooom!!
The ground immediately cracked as a testament to its great strength.
The eel was about to regain its balance and move back when it saw the image of a human in midair, appearing close to its left eye as he thrust his hand forward with its fingers straightened and….
Screeeeeeeeeeech!!
It screamed as it felt immense pain from its left eye and began to thrash around. It took a long time before it recovered, however the eel could only see a red color flooding its left vision.
Completely enraged, the eel charged toward the culprit not to eat him, but to kill him!
However…
