Chapter 197- Shinsu Development

Liu Guanyi was sitting atop the head of a huge white tiger with his eyes closed.

Within his hands, crystal clear and pristine small streams of blue water seemed to drift. The water streams flowed around his hands into the gaps between his fingers.

Then, they flew away from his hands and move in front of him. The water streams merged together and became a big blue ball that rotated quickly like a disk. Another one started to appear on his right side and became as big as the previous one as well.

A few seconds later, more than twenty blue balls were rotating and floating all around him, surrounding him as if he was the sun and they were the planets that were attracted by his gravitational power.

If one counted properly though, they could see that the number of the blue balls was twenty-eight to be exact. Shortly, another small blue ball began to appear, adding one more to the number.

Before it could become bigger and reached the size of its peers, it turned unstable and exploded, causing a little frown to appear on Liu Guanyi's face.

Liu Guanyi didn't mind the failure, however, as he began the process of creating another shinsu ball again immediately, which a few seconds later, as one could easily expect, ended up with failure as well.

He opened his eyes and gathered all of the shinsu balls into a massive ball that was even bigger than Little White herself as if floated above his palm. The ball quickly shrank and became as big as a basketball.

However, the color of the ball wasn't a bright blue but an extremely dark blue.

'Although I have improved very much over the past decades, it seems that I am still stuck at twenty-eight bangs this year. However, at least my fine-tune control of shinsu has improved by leaps and bounds compared to when I first entered the tower to be able to make to condense my shinsu to this extent.'

'Still, I will have to improve a lot in the bang and myun aspects and most likely also to explore the more special techniques to be able to contend with the top warriors and wave controllers in the tower.' Liu Guanyi pondered.

Liu Guanyi always trained his shinsu control during his free time, especially now that he didn't have to train his body like before which gave him a lot more time to do something else and as always, he used it to train something else.

For him, not using his time to train was the same as wasting it away.

Because of this, even if he didn't really focus on training his shinsu control, his increase in mastery in shinsu control was extremely astounding, even greater than the best direct descendants of the ten great families.

While Liu Guanyi was relatively unsatisfied with his progress, Adori was quite surprised with his progress in shinsu control. It seemed that Liu Guanyi was a late bloomer.

First off, it was because he wasn't a wave controller. And secondly, he didn't even put "a lot of effort", at least from his usual character, and yet, in just a few decades, he had managed to easily control twenty-eight bangs from zero!

To make a comparison, a regular Ranker was usually able to control around a dozen to thirty bangs.

If their main position was wave-controller, they would be able to control from around thirty to fifty or so. However, this was after taking their long-age into consideration.

After all, most regulars took more than five hundred years to become Rankers, even those who right now had managed to become the top High Rankers, with only a few people as exceptions.

Meanwhile, he did all of this in a timespan of less than a half-century with "little effort"!

From how Adori looked at it, his talent wasn't staying still. Instead, it was increasing to become greater and greater the more he climbed to the top. Was this because he was an irregular so the tower's rules worked differently for him?

Adori had read some information and heard some rumors that irregulars like king Zahard and the leaders of then ten great families were treated differently by the guardians and had more leeway in the rules of the tower.

But since this was the first time she actually experienced it firsthand on her own, Adori wasn't sure what the case truly was unless she ascertain it herself.

So, Adori looked at Liu Guanyi who was still busy exercising and playing with his shinsu ball, and spoke. "It seems that your shinsu control is advancing faster more than a decade ago, Liu."

"You are right, it seems you also notice it, Adori." Liu Guanyi admitted it straightforwardly.

"Naturally, I always pay attention to anything worthwhile, and paying attention to you and your matters is certainly worthwhile." She said calmly without any embarrassment.

Adori continued. "After all, improving shinsu control is incredibly hard. It really depends on our talent and whether we are blessed by shinsu or not. This is why most people could only control so many bangs even after spending thousands of years of training."

"The limit of our shinsu potential has been decided the moment when we were born. That's why pedigree and blood lineage are very important in the tower. The matter of whether we have parents with good genetics and those good genes pass on to us decides our entire fate in the tower."

"Because of this, even without the connections of the families and whatnot, being born into one of the ten great families is really important." Explained Adori.

Liu Guanyi nodded in agreement. "Well, this case actually applies to my world as well, though, definitely at a lesser extent than in the tower."

With that all being said, there was one thing that made Adori fairly sure that Liu Guanyi's talent in shinsu control was increasing and that he was a late bloomer.

"Liu, your progress in shinsu control seems to keep progressing steadily without bottleneck even when you reach more than twenty bangs, isn't it?"

"Well, about that, you are quite right again, princess." Said Liu Guanyi with a smile hanging on his face.
