Despite being a son from one of the most distinguished noble family of the west, Sean was nothing but mid.
Compared to his twin, anyway.
He got the exact same face, but somehow a little less attractive. Not so bright when it comes to academic and nothing when it comes to swordmanship compared to Ethan who's most likely born a genius at everything.
The gap between them was even more defined during their ascension.
They ascended in the same day, at the same time, but one got recognized while the other was completely forgotten.
Is it even possible to be written on the same page of fate but having completely different scenarios playing?
Sean just sighed and smiled proudly for his twin.
"Maybe it's real." One of fhe guest murmured in the crowd.
"What is?"
"The legend"
"What legend?"
"Ah, that! Right, isn't this enough proof already?"
In the Kingdom of Mirana, both curse and blessing lies within one body. The curse acts as the mediator as a deity's blessing cannot exist in itself in a mortal's body, it sets the limit and control the blessing usage in a specific amount of time with a limited amount of power. It's all to keep mortal, as mortal.
However, according to a legend, that rule has an exception. If one body splits into two, one will carry just the blessing and the other will bear the curse. It's the birth of a fated hero born with a sacrifice. A mortal closest to the Gods.
But that story was cut short.
The legend didn't go according to their expectations.
Ethan, the blessed, died not even reaching adulthood.
This story is now one of the most used to scare children to keep their place on the ground: As a mortal, no matter how exceptional, can never be compared to the gods who's mercy kept them alive and even let them have a portion of their might.
