I dug and pit then gave a ted talk (Rewritten)

I looked at the granny's face as she sat on her ass. She glared at me with a seemingly feral hatred.

"You killed my granddaughter. YOU KILLED HER NATHINAL!" She said

I clenched my fists.

"I didn't. And I'm not Nathanial!"

I'm not sure if it was something special about my words. But her brows quirked when I said that.

"You. You. HOW COULD YOU!" She screamed her tone faltering.

She shot to her feet and slammed her foot into the ground. A shockwave spread out from that attack. It knocked down all nearby trees and sent me flying.

The ground tore at my back, stripping skin from my body and covering me in blood.

*Pap, Pap, Pap, Pap*

The granny walked towards me. She grabbed me by the neck and held me up like I was some weak child.

"There's one thing in life that I believe in. That's family. I live for family. Every hint of my power comes from family. AND YOU KILLED MY FUCKING WAYWARD GRANDDAUGHTER!" Her grip tightened around my neck.

I could only hold her wrist and look on in fear.

"But I know. I can't kill you. I don't sense any evil wafting off you despite your crime. And as the one and only arch granny I have mercy. So from now on. You'll be my slave." She said her tone b was boiling with vitriol.

I could do nothing but accept her words.

And so I was a slave. She took me out to a dirt field. She gave me a shovel and told me to dig.

Not one to deny a seemingly invincible being's request I dug.

In doing that two years passed.

I made the hole big enough to fit a small sleeping bag which I coerced the Arch granny. She would throw scraps down for me to eat every now and then. But mostly I just didn't eat.

I eventually dug the hole so deep that the arch granny had to install these strange supports made of a pink metal.

I only ever wore a loin cloth during these times. The Archgranny did not see fit to give me anything else.

The only interesting thing that happened other than that was that I eventually dug deep enough that light could not reach the hole.

It was painful. I was tired all the time. But all in all. It was pretty chill. I was always experiencing sensations and I was alive.

Truly. Human is joy.

The arch granny had just said that I had served enough time. I had been set free.

I quietly followed the arch granny through a stone tunnel.

"Now that you are free you have to give a speech. If you don't I'll kill you."

Correction. I would be set free very, very soon. After a speech.

I stood before a glowing doorway. We had been walking in the dark for so long that the light was painful for me.

"The king will meet you outside when it's time to give your speech. Be nice to him, he has a mean streak." Said the arch granny.

I nodded

~Talking to kings. Pontificating in a place unknown. It makes me feel a hunger that isn't in my belly. What is this?~

"WELL GO!" She slapped me on the butt and I trotted through the door.

My eyes sparkled at the sight before me. It was civilization. It was something that I could only dream of. I had lived a whole life based around building them. And before me now was one in the flesh.

Merchants hawking wares. Carriages barrleing through the roads as crowd of people hurridly steped out of the way.

A random man getting extorted by guards. Angry tax collecters screaming at a young child. The constant tension of work and toil make a series of taunt strings of thought. I saw the weak minds shatter and the strong minds rise.

All of that in just a single city street. It was beauty.

A man wearing only a Speedo and a top hat with a bell on it walked up to me. He had a too-confident grin on his face.

~How can someone be comfortable enough to walk around looking like that?~

"Hello. Are you Greg." Asked the man.

"Yes. That is my name." I said.

He gave me a grin.

"Okay. Come with me. You're going to meet the king." He said.

Without looking back even for an instant to see if I was following he marched down the road. He expected me to follow. And so that's what I did. Although I made sure not to march like him. That would embarrass me a lot.

They had me walk through a palace with beautiful iron gates and golden statues in the front yard. I walked from there into a massive dining room. Sitting at the foot of the dining room was a man. He was very short only coming up to my waist. He was also very portly he was almost twice as wide as me.

But most importantly. Atop his head was a crown.

Clearly, he was the king.

I don't know why but the moment I saw him I felt the urge to kill him. He seemed like a thief. He had something that was mine and he didn't deserve it.

I took a deep breath. I couldn't kill a king. I'd just die in the process.

"Hello. My name's Greg. The man you called for." I said. The king grinned.

"Hi. I'm Joe. The people are waiting right outside. So go ahead and give your speech." He said.

"Where outside." There were many ways to outside. They couldn't be waiting outside all the outsides

"That outside." He pointed to a door behind his throne. It was made from stone and looked nothing like the doors I have at home. I rhymed. Nice.

So I walked to that door and opened it.

Outside was a crowd of people. It looked almost as if some ai had placed them down at random. As they were everywhere. There were hordes of people atop buildings and hordes of people on the ground. Even some standing in fountains. It was as if the whole world was placed in the same location by some poorly programmed ai.

I myself stood atop a balcony overlooking all these people. To my right was a man in a suit. He held a red rock on his right hand.

"Take this rock, sir. It makes your voice louder" He said.

I took the rock from his hand and examined it. Inscribed into the stone were the words. 'Bot.co'

~I'll just assume it works like a mic.~

I brought it up to my lips. "Everyone. Nod If you can hear me." In almost perfect unison, the crowd nodded.

"Okay. Good. I would like to give a speech."

I'd take it. I'd fucking take it. The power!
