Indefinite Hiatus

Sorry that it has been a while readers but some stuff came up IRL. 

Now you are probably wondering why the novel is going on hiatus.

the answer is that the power level of wild magic has completely destroyed any hope of making the story flow in the way that i was planning. 

To put it in perspective, if using the ancient language is compared to having a single infinity stone, wild magic is the gauntlet with all of the infinity stones and using said gauntlet has zero repercussions. 

I am not joking, that is how overpowered it is. you just substitute the cost of any magic you cast by converting any form of energy near you into mana. whether that be solar, converting matter, or even the life force of all living creatures around the caster.

when I realized this, I tried to put a limiter on Eragon's power, I tried making him forget how to use wild magic, I even tried rewriting how wild magic works for my novel. nothing I tried was able to spark that creative flair in my brain that lets me continue writing without having a brain aneurism. 

the two most important things for me is that I want to follow the history and logic of whatever world my novels take my MC, and that my MC makes rational choices and isn't a moron. which is why I know that Eragon would abuse the shit out of wild magic and just become a god-like being in the Eragon universe. (I also tried writing this and didn't like it either.)

So in short, I would have to rewrite the novel for the third time, or just give up and start working on a new novel. 

I have chosen the second option.

This time, I will sit on the chapters until I have well over thirty chapters and I have proof read it hundreds of times before I release it. While I am just writing for fun, I still want to make a novel that I am proud of.

Your feedback and constructive criticism has shown me my shortcomings and I now feel confident enough to write an absolute banger of a fanfic. It might take me a few months to a year, but I will be back.
