Hesitant Teacher

I woke up with none of my parents by my side and i already knew where they went, i had another dream but i still couldn't remember and again i felt sad, i shook my head getting rid of the feeling, i got out of the nest and walked to the door, i tried to push it but it was too heavy, after a few minutes triyng suddenly the door shot open and i fell on my chest, i looked up and see Lon looking at me with a amused expression.

Synn:"Thank you Lon.".

Lon:"No problem, but you could have called us.".

He picks me up and put me on the usual spot to talk properly.

Synn:"I thought everyone was talking with Menf.".

Lon:"How do you know?".

Synn:"I think he saying he wanted to talk gave it off.".

Lon:"Oh." He looked i little stunned by my answer "You're' right, Tay, Mom and Dad are talking with Menf since yesterday.".

Synn:"They didn't sleep?".

Lon:"Nope, we can be awake for two weeks straight without sleep, but we still get exhausted so we sleep everyday to be up full of energy.".

Synn:"Really? You and Lyra don't seem to be full of energy everyday though.".

Lon:"That's intentional." He looked to his side.

Synn:"If you say so, why didn't you and Lyra go too?".

Lon:"Someone have to take care of you, and Menf didn't let us go.".

Synn:"I think i could handle my self.".

Lon:"I could see that when you tryied to open the door." He chuckled.

Synn:"That was intentional." I chuckled too "Where is Lyra?".

Lon:"She went to buy breakfast, she might come back soon.".

Just when he said the door opened, Lyra entered she had a worried expression when she looked at me, right after her, Tay, my father and my mother entered as well, they all had the same look. I frowned as i see this, what did Menf said to them, everyone gathered around me.

'Dad':"Synn, your Mana Ceremony will happen in a week, you have to prepare yourself." He said in a serious tone.

Synn:"It wasn't supposed to take two months? Why so soon?".

'Dad':"Something happened we have to do it earlier than expected.".

Synn:"Does it have something to do with the talk you had with Menf?".

'Dad':"Yes, but there's nothing to worry about." He gave me a smile.

Synn:"Liar...." I whispered to myself "What do i have to do in the mana ceremony?".

'Dad':"I can't tell you, but you should prepare yourself.".

'Mom':"Everything will work in the end, i'm sure of it." She smiled before picking me up and placing me on the dinner table "Now lets eat, you have academy today." I nodded as she handed me piece of bread.

We ate and went to the academy, everyone split out to their respective classes as Tay left me at Fran's class, she helped me in my writing which i still was strugling due to my size, the bell rang and Tay came again to pick me up, we went to the canteen to have lunch, i again picked giant boar meat and we sat to eat, Lon and Lyra joined us a few moments after.

Lya:"Again boar Synn? I think that meat has way too fat, but i wouldn't mind you getting a bit chubby." She chuckled.

Synn:"I won't get chubby that easily.".

Lyra:"I know, but you would be more cute than you already are.".

Synn:"I will not get chubby." I blushed a bit which made a contrast my white scales.

Tay:"You have flight lessons now right Synn? You should finish your boar cause its almost time to next classes.".

Synn:"Already?" I ripped a big chunk of the boar and munched it as fast as i could.

As soon as i finished the bell rang again and Tay left me at the training field, i looked around but i couldn't see Menf nowhere, i walked toward the tower looking around it, i didn't found him but found Glyn saying something to himself.

Synn:"Glyn?".

He jumped a little when i called him, he snaped his head in my way and stared at me, the ankward silence stayed for a few minutes before i spoke again.

Synn:"Glyn?".

Glyn:"Ah sorry." He looked to his side before walking toward me.

Synn:"Where is Menf?".

Glyn:"He's not here today.".

Synn:"What? And what about my flight lessons?".

Glyn:"About that....." He looked at me hesitantly "He said that i would teach you for a few days.".

Synn:"Really? Then i'm at your hands." I smiled.

Glyn:"Are you okay with it?" He looked skepitcal "I mean, i'm a kid.".

Synn:"What about it? I'm a newborn.".

Glyn:"That's true but i don't if i'm able to teach you, even if my dad leaved a schedule.".

Synn:"Relax, i'm sure you can do it, and even if you can't there is no problem, we don't lose anything either way.".

Glyn:"...." He thought for a while in what i said. "Fine, but don't blame me if you don't learn anything.".

Synn:"I won't, should we start?".

Glyn:"Sure thing.".

We started our lessons, it was just glide exersise, i jumped from the tower slowly gliding to the ground, the second and third day he taught me how to maneuver in the air. Then two days off from the week. The fourth and fifth day how to properly land as most of the times i landed facing the ground, he chuckled everytime i did, the week passed in a breeze and the day had come, it was time for my mana ceremony.
