Returning to the stronghold

After savoring his second lizard, Finn found himself completely satisfied. He slowly rose to his feet, his hand gently resting on his contented belly, relishing the goodness of the meal.

'Wow that was good! so glad my taste buds got changed or else i would be starving myself to death' Finn idly mused to himself as he casually tossed the leftover bones of the lizard onto a growing pile beside him.

'Maybe i should go vist the scav stronghold before the access to it is gone' Finn as he contemplated the two masks nestled within his inventory, considering the potential they held to secure valuable items from a discerning merchant.

'Well nothing better to do and maybe i could level up' Finn thought as he started on his path again followed by Echo who looked slightly bloated after eating some fruit Finn got for it.

*1 hour later*

Arriving at the entrance to the stronghold, Finn encountered a band of scavengers who were just departing. The sight of their unexpected meeting momentarily immobilized both him and the group of five strangers. However, this momentary stillness did not last long, as they soon discerned the striking black tattoos that adorned Finn's arms, undulating like enigmatic serpents. In addition to this, a faded but discernible green drawing of a vulture graced his shoulder blade which seem to calm the group of scavagers who continued to move past him while he entered the vent where he emerged infront of the stronghold.

'Still cool looking as ever' Finn contemplated silently as he advanced toward the gate, which stood under the vigilant watch of a solitary but considerably larger guardian. This imposing figure donned a distinctive mask that sharply contrasted with the typical attire of scavengers.

'Wow, today there is an elite scavenger guarding the gate!' Finn found himself in a state of shock, yet he was determined not to reveal his fear. With unwavering resolve, he continued to approach the formidable gate, all the while aware of the elite guardian who monitored his every move. The elite's countenance occasionally illuminated with an eerie glow, courtesy of the sporadic arcs of electricity that gracefully emanated from the two spears resting tranquilly upon its back.

As Finn passed by the elite scavenger, he couldn't help but notice the individual's disinterested gaze, a mere fleeting acknowledgment before returning to an almost statuesque pose. The scavenger resumed its vigil, maintaining a stoic, unwavering posture, their eyes fixed intently upon the sole entrance to the fortress. As far as Finn could discern, this was the scavenger's sole responsibility.

'Hope I never have to fight one...' Fin's thoughts swirled as he at last crossed the threshold of the formidable stronghold. His quest to locate the elusive merchant unfolded slowly, a challenging endeavor that proved to be far more time-consuming than he had initially anticipated. The stronghold's vast expanse dwarfed his expectations, leading him to navigate its labyrinthine corridors with a growing sense of awe and trepidation as he come to relize that the scavs did not just number in the dozens but 100s.

'How strong do you have to be to wipe out stronghold' Fin's thoughts swirled as he carefully presented the vulture mask to the merchant. After a moment of intense scrutiny, the merchant, lost in contemplation, finally nodded in acceptance. With a slow and deliberate motion, the merchant then placed three intriguing items on the ground before Fin.

' 1 explosive spears, 1 lantern and 1 flash bang is much better than I expected ' As he deftly secured the items into his inventory, he made certain the merchant's gaze remained averted, his movements swift and cautious, ensuring he went unnoticed.

'That should be enough for today let me head home' With a swift departure, Finn abruptly exited the stronghold, retracing his steps towards his home. Echo, once concealed atop his head, now floated alongside him, a spectral companion. He hurriedly maneuvered his way into the vent, the narrow passage leading to his sanctuary.

'Lets see if i can level up tomorrow ' As he drifted off to sleep, a contented smile graced his face. His gaze lingered upon the inventory that cradled his recent acquisitions, nestled alongside the lifeless remains of a vulture and a solitary lizard.
