Chapter 26 - Tang Fei Martial Academy Opening Examinations

In Tang Fei City's North-Western quarter laid a massive institution. The buildings were all structured rigidly, with shaped bases and shingled layers. There were also people who would casually walk about and meditate in various areas of the institution.

This institution gave anybody who stood in its midst, the sense of cultivating. This was the Tang Fei Martial Academy, which is known as the 7th ranking martial academy in the Desolate Valley Continent and has steadily been one of the lowest ranking academies.

This was something Tian Longmeng knew; nevertheless, he decided on this martial academy due to its close proximity to the Desolate Wilderness.

Today was the day that Tang Fei Martial Academy was opening for new disciples. Many people were anticipating this one moment for various reasons.

There were easily over 200 people present at the outside gates of Tang Fei Martial Academy. Most of them were commoners eager to change their fate within Tang Fei by studying in the martial academy and reaching the Mortal Enforcer Realm.

The Enforcer realm; the realm above a Grand-Apprentice. By reaching this realm, these individuals would be able to gain a military official title and be highly respected, not just within the city but throughout the continent. This title ensured that these once poverty-stricken people would no longer live a life of destitution.

What was even better was that they could even be accepted by the noble faction as a noble family if they had contributed enough to the city. It is truly the gateway of hope that all commoners seek for.

Yet, that did not mean that reaching this realm was so easy. Unless you are super talented or you have a mountain of resources and backing, reaching even remotely close to the Mortal Enforcer Realm would be a pipe dream. Even those who have the potential to reach this realm usually do not reach it until they are in their adult years.

This did not stop their desire as evidenced by the sheer amount of commoners at the gate entrance. They would everything humanly possible in order to achieve a better life.

Tian Longmeng arrived on the scene with a "complete makeover". He washed himself up and bought a completely new set of clothes. He probably would have just walked straight into the Martial Academy with the same dirty and ragged look, however, he did want there to be any commotion where they kicked him out because they thought he was a stray.

One consequence Tian Longmeng could not avoid was the constant stares of people all around him. They looked at him with eyes that could strip him naked. It was like he was a newly built sculpture that was exhibited for all to see.

This was because his deep black, flowing hair and sharp facial features made him look like a prominent noble's child. The audience did not notice that Tian Longmeng was not wearing clothes that befitted the status of a noble until someone pointed it out.

As if this was some comedy, as soon as the fact was stated, all interest around Tian Longmeng died to the point of him being totally ignored. There were even comments scattered around like "he just some commoner nobody trying to look pretty".

Of course, none of these phased Tian Longmeng and he just waited for the gates to open. Still, Tian Longmeng took the opportunity to return the favour and scan everyone in the area from head to toe.

There were hundreds of people in the area and almost all of them were commoners. They were fairly young as well, with some of them being around the age of 12 and 15. There were the few exceptions though where some 20-year-olds could be spotted.

That was understandable since anybody who was desperate to get out of his or her destitute state would jump at the attempt to enter the Martial Academy. However, these people would not be able to reach anywhere close to their goal.

Why? This is because they have passed the peak of their lives. This was also the reason there are so many young people and children in the area. The Ark Elder told Tian Longmeng that it is best if people start cultivating before their bodies fully develop into adulthood.

If they reached adulthood before reaching at least the fifth stage in any cultivation path then their bodies would be too rigid to cultivate the basic stages.

On the other hand, Tian Longmeng was considered to be on the other side of the problem.

The problem did not extend to those who were too old to cultivate, but also those who are too young as well. If the person wishes to cultivate but their body has not developed to the point of enduring and accepting essence, then they will be crippled by the overbearing essence. At worst, they could even explode as a result.

The Ark Elder assured Tian Longmeng that he was a different case because he was linked to the Ark of the Majesty and that the treasure is so amazing that he did not have to worry about any difficulties relating to advancement and breakthrough.

However, if he Tian Longmeng was a special case, then what about Si Xuexi who, despite being younger than him, is at a higher cultivation? Tian Longmeng sighed at the thought. Truly, that girl was strange in every sense of the word.

With that, Tian Longmeng continued to patiently wait for the opening of the gates.
