Chapter 7

One by one, each queen was picked up from their islands, except Rose. They stopped the boat in the middle of Lazuli Sea, and dropped an anchor. It was evening now, and they finished the supper Queen Pearl brought for them, which was simple ham sandwiches.

"Pearl, those sandwiches were delicious! Thank you for bringing them!" said Sapphire.

"You're very welcome," said Pearl sweetly. They were in a room next to the control room, where they sat at a table.

"Now, shall we discuss what happened to..Luna?" asked Melaina. The queens all nodded.

"I personally believe that Pyrexia did it, I mean she's the most powerful! Not only that, but she probably destroyed the bridges! I just don't get why?" said Sapphire.

"Me neither. Why would she target Luna? Luna never did anything wrong!" exclaimed Melaina.

"Luna did everything right! She seemed almost perfect!" exclaimed Pearl. Luna was perfect, and she knew how to act properly. She never ever fought or argued; she usually was the one who stopped the argument.

"Another thing that doesn't make sense is how in the world could an island be destroyed by an Earthquake?!" asked Blaise.

"I don't think she did it alone. Rose said something strange to me the night of our get-together. She said something about how our fighting won't matter anymore?" said Sapphire.

"Are you saying Rose was involved?!" asked Pearl. Sapphire nodded.

"It makes sense, Pyrexia couldn't do it alone, and seeing how loyal Rose is to her, naturally they'd do it together!" said Melaina. Suddenly, she stood up. "We're heading to Pyrexia's island! We will sneak into her tower and confront her!"

"We could try! We have a better chance together!" said Pearl in agreement. It was settled, they were heading to her island.

The boat slowly approached Pyrexia's island. Her tower was seen, as it reflected the lightning that flashed in the sky. Since there was no dock, Blaise just dropped the anchor.

"Why did we stop?" asked Melaina, who peered her head into the control room.

"We can't get any closer, we'll use our magic to fly to the island," said Blaise. She shut the boat off and walked to the rainy deck. The other queens followed. All at once,they used their magic, Melaina's being dark magic, Blaise's being fire, Sapphire's being ice, and Pearl's being light. They flew over the crashing waves and landed on the island. Sapphire put a finger to her lips as they approached the tower. She pressed her head to the door. Sapphire nodded as to say it was quiet. She slowly cracked the door open, and they quickly but quietly entered. They shut the door behind them. The golden interior was dark, compared to how it was during the get-together. Blaise pointed towards the left. It was a door that lead all the way upstairs.

"Why can't we use the elevator?!" hissed Melaina, who pointed towards the center of the room.

"It'll make too much noise once we enter and exit it!" hissed Blaise. Melaina rolled her eyes and headed towards the door. Pearl slowly opened the door but quickly shut it.

"I heard footsteps!" hissed Pearl frantically. They ran quickly to the dining room.

"Let's hide under the table! The cloth is long enough to cover us!" exclaimed Sapphire. All at once, they crawled in. A door was opened. And them the door to the dining room opened. Pyrexia was humming. They saw her feet that were in white slippers head towards the kitchen.

"Somebody's got the nighttime munchies" whispered Blaise sarcastically. The queens giggled a little. Pearl, however, could not contain herself and let out a laugh. Her eyes went wide and she covered her mouth. The kitchen door swung open.

"Who's there?!" asked Pyrexia. She walked by the table, and then stopped. The queens covered their mouth to cover their breathing. They hoped she'd walk away.

"I know you're there," said Pyrexia. She was holding a bread bun, that she then dropped. "Crap." Pyrexia bent down to get it. The queens panicked and tried to crawl away. They crawled out onto the other side of the table. Pyrexia was now standing up straight, but she didn't seem to notice them, since the table was long and wide. She shrugged and walked out of the room. They breathed.

"Maybe this a bad idea," whispered Pearl as they got up slowly. The door opened.

"I need something to drink-" Pyrexia paused when she saw them. Sapphire smiled nervously.

"What are you doing HERE!?" said Pyrexia angrily.

"Uh..SURPRISE!" said Blaise, doing jazz hands awkwardly. Pyrexia raised an eyebrow.

"What is the meaning of this?! Why are you four in my TOWER?!" said Pyrexia.

"Spaghetti," said Pearl nervously on impulse. Melaina facepalmed. Pearl usually said random things when she was scared or nervous or both.

"Spaghetti- WHAT?! TELL ME THE TRUTH!" shouted Pyrexia.

"You should know already you queen-killer!" said Sapphire coldly.

Pyrexia laughed.

"You honestly think I destroyed the bridges, and Luna's island? You have no proof anyway!" laughed Pyrexia. "I am the perfect queen after all! No one thinks I'm not flawless!"

"You're filled with one too many flaws!" said Blaise. Pyrexia glared.

"What did you say?" asked Pyrexia.

"You heard me!" yelled Blaise.

"WHY YOU LITTLE BRAT!" She shot a gold beam. Blaise moved out of the way only for Melaina to get hit. She instantly became a gold statue. Pearl stared at the gold statue and wept.

"No, Melaina!" She cried, hugging the statue. Sapphire became furious. She blasted Pyrexia with ice, freezing both of her hands in ice. Pyrexia growled at the inconvenience, since she couldn't use her magic.

"Now you have no choice but to admit the truth, or I won't free you," said Sapphire.

"That's blackmail!" yelled Pyrexia.

"So? You're evil!" said Blaise. The ice suddenly glowed gold, and it shattered. She blasted Blaise, and she became a gold statue just like Melaina. Sapphire grabbed Pearl's hand and ran for it. They flew back to their boat after leaving the tower. Sapphire ran to control room,has the anchor brought up and took off, leaving the tower behind them.
