Chapter 2

At 12:30, Sapphire's lunch request was simple, she wanted a grilled cheese sandwich. Maria wanted to ask why, but instead she said nothing, knowing Sapphire was in a rush as she wanted to get ready for the Royal Get-Together. Sapphire ate her food quickly and then hopped into the shower. She took her time cleaning herself. Once she got out, she slipped into a white bathrobe. She dried her hair with a hair dryer, which took about 30 minutes. Her shower took about 10 minutes. She looked at her phone. 1:10, it read. A gentle knock was heard from the bathroom door.

"Come in," said Sapphire. Maria walked in.

"My queen, you don't need to rush, the Royal Get-Together is at 5:00 tonight. It's only 1:12," said Maria. Sapphire sighed.

"It's just, I want to look my best or else..." Sapphire paused. "Or Rose will make fun of me again.."

"Oh my! Don't listen to her, you're the most beautiful queen I know! You know that!" exclaimed Maria. "Please just relax, you have three hours before we go! And the bridge that connects to here from Pyrexia's now has a conveyor belt that you just stand on!" exclaimed Maria. Sapphire remembered there were belts, one that led to the tower, and one that led back. In fact, each island had a bridge that led to the tower. And each had conveyor belts. However, if one queen wanted to get to another queen's island, they'd have to go to Pyrexia's and then go to the other queen's bridge.

"You're right," said Sapphire. "Let's just relax." Maria nodded. Sapphire left the bathroom and headed into her room. She flopped onto the bed. She looked at her night stand. There sat her gold crown with ice blue jewels. She smiled as it sparkled in the sunlight that shone from her window.

At about 4:45, Sapphire and Maria got on the conveyor leading to Pyrexia's Tower. The speed was normal, not fast. As the wind blew through her hair, she adjusted her crown and looked over the bridge and saw the Lazuli Sea all around her. It sparkled a bright blue. She looked up at the golden tower she was heading towards. It was beautiful. A huge window was facing towards her island on the top floor. The tower stood on a grassy green island. It wasn't very wide, but wide enough to hold her tower. As they neared, Sapphire looked over towards the bridge coming from the island west.

"Queen Blaise's island," Sapphire whispered to herself. Maria didn't seem to hear. Around 4:55, they finally arrived. Sapphire and Maria hopped off of the bridge and walked up the grassy hill. She paused and looked at the tower. She breathed in and continued walking towards the tower. Maria opened the big golden door for her and they walked in. Sapphire immediately spotted Queen Rose and groaned. She wore a pink dress and she had pink highlights in her blonde hair. She appeared to have curled it. Her hair was about a decent length. Her eyes appeared to be pink in color. She was laughing with her short assistant Dyla. Dyla had blonde hair and she wore the same typical assistant outfit like what Maria wore. Rose looked over to Sapphire after she finished laughing.

"Hello there!" Rose walked up to Sapphire. Sapphire fake smiled at Rose. "Well look at you! You look wonderful!" Sapphire seemed confused by how nice Rose was acting. "Don't worry, I mean it! I realize how rude I was to you in the past, but that won't matter soon!" Before Sapphire could respond, Rose walked away towards the royal hall. Sapphire looked around at the golden walls. Everything was gold in color! Even the carpet was gold! Sapphire walked up to the door leading to the royal hall. Maria opened the door for her. They both walked in and were in awe. The golden chandelier sparkled and shone brightly. There were three windows each on the left and right walls. Sapphire took a seat in the chair right across from Pyrexia and Maria exited the room, heading off to the assistants' royal hall. The table had a white cloth on it and in the middle sat a basket of white bread buns and a stick of butter sat neatly on a clear small plate. A cup of silverware including forks, spoons, and butter knives sat in the middle of the table. Plates were already set on the table along with red napkins and glass cups for each queen. Rose was sitting right next to Pyrexia, smiling and laughing. Pyrexia's golden eyes sparkled under the light as she laughed at whatever Rose had said.

Three more queens came in and sat down. Queen Blaise sat next to Sapphire on the left while Queen Luna sat on her right. Blaise was wearing her normal red dress which had yellow lacing on the bottom and she had her necklace which had a red diamond on it around her neck. Her eyes were a fiery red orange. She wore the same crown Sapphire had except she had red jewels. She looked over at the third queen who sat down.

"Pearl," thought Sapphire. Pearl had short blonde hair. Like most of the queens, she was in her early twenties. She sported a really light teal, almost white, dress. She had a whitish diamond on her necklace. Her eyes were teal in color. The only queen left to sit was, Queen Melaina. She walked in, wearing a black dress with a purple center that went all the way around her waist. Her hair was a dark blonde and her eyes were violet along with the jewels on her crown and necklace. She sat across from Pearl. Pearl smiled at her arrival. Melaina smiled back. Blaise looked at Sapphire.

"You think Pearl has a girl crush on Melaina?" whispered Blaise. Sapphire shot her a dark look.

"Seriously, Blaise? You know Pearl isn't treated well by Rose! Melaina is the only one who'd stick up for her!" growled Sapphire.

"It was a joke!" said Blaise. "Besides, we queens aren't exactly interested marriage or dating. Heck, we were created from magic orbs! We weren't born..right? That's how it goes?"

"Yes Blaise, that's how it goes. Besides, what's that got to do with relationships?" asked Sapphire. Blaise shrugged.
