Lesker
What I see in the books is the same thing the people on the streets sing. Legends. Legends are heroic stories to stroke the ego of a person who had their prime. Legends never captured the real stories. Like I thought, the library was useless.
"You want to learn the real truth about Muni?" I hear a voice whisper in my ears. Startled, I jump and whirl to face the direction the voice had come from.
"Lady Jeir"
"Consort Lesker" she says with smirk. I'm wary of her and she knows it. If she tries to get rid of me, I can't put up a fight, she would crush me. Even if I had the power, she was a royal. She's untouchable.
"I see you going through these books in search of the truth. Did you really think you'd find them that easily?"
"Um....my lady, it's the royal library. I thought..." She laughs, interrupting me.
"Oh Lesker, you're so innocent, it's really captivating" she says, drawing close. Her face is in mine and I can smell her body fragrance. She smells like a beach. It's refreshing.
She's much like her cousin. They both had the bodies women would kill for and men would give their fortunes for but Kohra's was a bit better.
Jeir didn't wear gowns like the other women of court. She wore shirts and pants, like a man. She was a classic tomboy.
"I could show you the truth. But, it's for a price"
"What's your price?"
"I'll decide it when I'm ready. Do you agree to my offer?" She's smiling. She looks like a demon offering riches in exchange for my soul. It's an enticing offer so I'm interested.
As I'm about to agree, her emotionless voice beats me to it.
"Step away from him and leave Jeir"
"But Kohra...."
Her irises turn black. I wasn't imagining it that other night. The curse of the Muni bloodline was real.
Jeir steps away from me and leaves without saying a word. Kohra watches her leave and her irises return to their normal color.
She says nothing to me, only sits at the other end of the pavilion and picks out a book to read. I stare around for a while before I return to reading. The books might be useless but maybe I could discover by reading more.
"The battle of Keeyl" she says and I look up.
"Legends say Muni fought against a thousand undead to rescue her partner trapped by the undead Drakken. You've heard that story"
"Yes your majesty" I know it's me she's referring to as it was only the both of us in the pavilion. She's talking to me but her eyes are still on the book she's reading.
"In reality, she wanted to capture the undead Drakken and get the flower of immortality. She ripped out the heart of her partner herself and fed it to the mad Drakken to capture it.
Till date, people see Drakken as monsters who would tear out their heart all because of a woman's greed"
I couldn't speak. The stereotypes for Drakkens still existed and humans killed them on sight because they are thought dangerous. Some are even enslaved and forced through a terrible life. I used to think they deserved it because they were monsters but now, I'm disgusted at myself.
Drakkens were humanoid creatures with huge horns, tails, talons and slit eyes. They were said to be descendents of dragons but it was debunked because evidence of their ancestors were soon found and they were different creatures.
She says nothing after telling me that for two hours while I digest the information she gave me. She suddenly calls for me.
"Come here" I obey and walk towards her. As I draw closer, I realised she didn't have a scent. It made her scarier.
"Take off your shirt"
"Y...y....your majesty"
"Hurry. I don't have all the time in the world!" She raises her voice. I flinch and obey. My shirt slips down my shoulder and I face her shirtless. My cheeks flush and I thank the cosmos I'm off a darker shade. Her blank eyes roam my chest and I can't read her expression.
"Come close and turn your back" she commands and I do as I'm told.
As she runs her fingers down my back, my body begins to heat up. Her fingers roam my back like she's looking for something. The warmth in my body goes down to one part in particular.
I feel her warm breath on my back and I resist the urge to run. She was doing things to me and it wasn't like she cared. I feel something warm and slippery on my back. She licked my back!
I couldn't focus much on that because pain flared in that particular place at that moment. I bit my lips to prevent myself from screaming as the pain grew. It was like someone was placing hot iron to my skin.
I look back to see Kohra with a black ball floating in her arms. It was definately her magix. She put the ball to my back and the pain disappeared.
"You're marked" was all she said and left.
Psst! Hey there. I just want to tell you to add this book to your collection. That's all. Stay healthy, safe and inside your house
