QT: Finding Meaning

*** My health has been very poor this year alongside loosing my mother-in-law and cat so I'm sorry but this will be rewritten and finished when I'm well, I'm doing it all offline in my rare creative moments, hopefully with a more mature touch *** [WARNING: Mature Themes (smut, violence, murder, suicide, domestic violence, etc.)] --------- Waking up naked and alone with a murderer, without a single memory, she relies on System to understand her existence in another person's body. --------- Still don't know if you should read me? Here's a quick breakdown to help you make up your mind if this novel is right for you: This is my own twist on the QuickTransmigration System genre, giving it a more 'spiritual' twist. It explores sensitive themes throughout each arc and I will do my best to give trigger warnings at the start of chapters containing them. It is written in the first person and revolves around a female lead (FL). This is a weak-to-strong novel, she will have heavy flaws and make repeated mistakes and seem generally weak at the start, bear with her as she grows. Romance is a heavy theme within the story that contains a lot of smut, with more than one character. However, there is only one male lead in the end. The story is less about fluffy romance, instead, it's a journey of growth and self-discovery, revolving around the main storyline. Although, each Arc will have its own separate storyline that will have an impact on the main storyline with both new and reoccurring characters (so skipping arcs is not advised). I have currently written the rough drafts for four arcs at the point of writing this: 1. Ghosts & Guns 2. How do you keep a child alive in the Zombie Apocalypse? 3. Abducted by Aliens 4. Freed by the Fae Folk 5. .... --------- --------- Cover Art made by myself, using nightcafe AI Art, check out my page, I'm attempting to make novel art and character art for each arc: https://creator.nightcafe.studio/u/Raychbunni

[Warning: Smut]

"Are you sure he won't notice us?" I asked Ty for the third time, mixed amongst the facilities staff, whilst we walked back up to the ground floor.

"Have some faith Luna bug," he pushed the glasses I was now wearing, up my face, then motioned to Lex across the crowd, pushing me to slip into the cafeteria hall.

Lex joined us shortly after. "Anyone notice?" Ty asked, pushing me behind the counter to the foul-smelling kitchen. At this rate, my sense of smell was going to be permanently destroyed no matter how many noses I get in the future.

Lex had explained that the staff here had a quick pre-warning before the meteors hit, the building locked down and the necessary staff went into the bunker. The workers here had a choice, follow the scientists and work for them underground or wait until the meteors began to fall before they could leave to find their loved ones.

My heart ached at the idea of being forced to make that choice.

Once outside, I heard the scuffle of fighting in the direction of the main entrance.

"What is that?" I asked, turning to go back, pulling my swords out of my space.

"Slow down," Ty pulled on the back of my jacket, pulling me back with strength far superior to mine. "They'll manage, now's our best chance to get away whilst they're distracted."

With a wave of Ty's hand, a small modified RV appeared amongst the delivery lorries and staff vehicles. Metal encased it like a cage with a shovel at the front. Its wheels were chunkier than they should be, raising the chassis more, forcing me to jump slightly just to climb inside.

Ty drove, leaving me to walk through the narrow kitchen and enclosed bathroom to the large bed at the end. Collapsing and kicking off my shoes, I made myself comfortable under the blanket, not caring if the world collapsed around me, just needed some shuteye.

In my semi-asleep state, I heard the sound of both men talking as the small armoured RV shoved cars aside, occasionally running over one of the weaker walking corpses.

Just as we neared the end of the city, entering the suburbs, one of the wheels burst suddenly.

Forcing myself to stagger to the front seats I saw what had punctured the wheel stood a few yards in front of the windscreen.

A beautiful woman stood in bloodied rags, her long black hair like a bird's nest down her back. I imagined she could have been a model, had her complexion been a little less green.

Lex instantly stood, to push me back towards the kitchen, "stay inside," he warned, jumping out of the door.

Ty let out a heavy sigh, barely looking at me as he sluggishly followed Lex, instead of walking in front like Lex, he stayed beside the door, making tools appear to take care of changing the tire.

I pensively sat in the seat Lex had used, pulling my coat around my stomach, waiting to see how Lex planned to deal with the strongest concentration of virus I had seen except for the meteorite. Lex's System had him blocked off from me, making me unable to see how much of the virus was in his System or whether he'd mutated yet.

System had to strengthen my eyes so I could follow as both Lex and the zombie fought tooth and nail.

In mere moments the zombified beauty was left staggering towards me, Lex stood his back to me. I leaned forward, scared he'd been hurt, only to see the zombie stagger and fall, immobilised.

Lex turned around, raising a dagger he leisurely strode over, pressing a foot on the former beautiful woman's back, and dug his blade into her skull.

She jerked momentarily, then turned limp as Lex lifted the large and bright nuclei in his hands. After pouring whiskey over it he put it in his mouth, then downed half the bottle.

When he returned I managed to push myself up to a stand, to move his clothes to look for injuries.

"That eager to take my clothes off?" He asked, brow raised in amusement.

"Wait til I'm asleep kids," Ty called out from outside.

I pushed past him and returned to the bed, wondering why I had even bothered to care for that jerk.

A short while later we pulled up to a stop at what looked like an abandoned service station. Yet there were concentrations of virus dotted about.

"Wait in here with Ty, I'll clear the area then get you okay," Lex kissed the top of my head and left without caring for a response or the disgruntled look on my face at his intimacy. As if a whole lifetime hadn't passed since we'd last met. Now, this new life brought so much baggage, I felt unwilling and uneasy.

I slumped down on the bench, leaning on the small table, and watched him go from building to building through the windscreen.

An hour later he returned, bloodied.

Two nuclei landed on the table in front of me, "I used boiling water, not booze for you," he smiled sweetly like a cat that had just brought me a treat, greedily awaiting praise.

"Thanks," I picked them both up, poured a bottle of water over them in the sink, and took them both. Feeling a rush I almost hopped, skipped, and jumped my way to the small motel. Ty made the RV disappear and then went inside the service station instead of following us.

As soon as the door closed Lex was tugging at my clothes.

"Lex," I chuckled, pulling at his hair, finding it a new obsession to do so, if I was honest I was a tad bit jealous of how long and healthy it looked, "we've just met."

Shouldn't we be sitting down to talk, to explain things, to catch up?

"It's not like you to wait," he pulled my hair back, making me let go, then covered my mouth with his before I could complain. Just what had I been like in my original life for him to have such an opinion?

When I landed with a shove on the bed, I noticed the room had been cleaned up, the sheets were new, so this was why he took so long.

His smile was sweet and innocent, but this pervert had preplanned this and possibly even schemed with Ty for privacy. Why was he so eager? It was just sex?

I wanted nothing more than to gain the ability to pry apart these idiotic immortal heads and understand just what was going on to make them act so erratically.

Deep down I felt myself growing weary and tired of them all, wishing to just isolate myself on a beach somewhere and raise Izzy alone...

"Pervert," I pushed him away to hide under the duvet.

"No, my love, this is many, many years of abstinence taking its toll," he pushed me on my back and pulled off my tights. I had worn an outfit of his colleagues to disguise myself as a scientist. Unlike my usual athletic wear, I was in a blouse and skirt.

"Abstinence?" I gulped. Recalling I'd been far from abstinent in the short time since we'd parted. Was I supposed to be?

We'd not talked much about the semantics of being immortal and being romantic soulmates. Not to mention even as Zhiyue I had married another man, even if it was someone he seemed to idolize as his Master. It all felt so wrong.

Sometimes I wondered just why I'd even bothered to be entangled with this shameless man. Still, System would never lie to me, even Jianyu admitted to it. So why did I always feel a reluctance in my heart?

"Don't worry, my choice," he dropped his black shirt, exposing his muscular tattooed chest and right sleeve.

"Were those your choice?" I asked at the mishmash of what looked like foreign designs.

"One for each life," he replied making me aware that he'd lived many more lifetimes than me. I noticed he was enjoying my hand trailing along his skin a bit too much. His hands reached to unfasten his slacks, pulling out his hardened member.

I gulped, feeling pleased that at least this part of him wasn't tattooed or pierced. Embarrassed at his forward attitude, I ignored his privates and continued to explore his tattoos, wondering which of these lives was the one we'd spent together.

"Which one was this?" I pointed to a kitsune mask.

He smiled fondly, "that life," his hands covered mine, pressing into the tattoo, "that's the life we met master."

I recalled Jianyu saying we'd spent ninety-eight years together.

"What was it like?" I leaned back to let the soft bed swallow me.

"Magical," he lifted my skirt, then pulled off my knickers, ignoring my glare.

"Tell me more," I whined, eager for someone to at least tell me more about who I was, and what I had done. Why were they all so secretive?

"Hmmm…" he grabbed my wrists and playfully raised them above my head, "maybe if you satisfy me enough."

Before I could reply, his head poked at my entrance, teasing me to enter at any moment. My glare turned indignant as I feigned a huff at his refusal.

He entered me suddenly, not too deep, if anything it was too shallow like he was teasing me still.

"Lex," I wriggled, my hips unconsciously rising to make him enter deeper. My face flushed with shame.

Just what did this man feed my System to make me so eager? Was it something to do with being soul mates?

"I didn't realise you were more eager than I," he let go of my wrists to grab my hips and position himself deeply.

My hands clutched onto the duvet, as I tried to keep my voice from calling out. My radar showed only Ty in the service area, it should be safe, but the weakest of the dead would never show.

"We're safe," he chuckled, then bent forward to roughly kiss my lips, biting at my bottom lip as he pulled away. "So be as loud as you want."

I felt like Lex was in a competition to make me as loud as possible as he pounded into me, his hands wandering to explore every part of my body, ending at my clit, toying away as his speed increased.

I let out a harsh cry as I felt an explosive feeling in my core break out, making me momentarily forget everything even the man before me.

As quickly as I rose, I fell back into reality, feeling Lex slump over me, pulling me into a tight embrace. To him, that was more than sex.

I felt his System connected with mine during my climax, instead of its usual deathly silence during intimate moments like this. What exactly did he want from me?

Lex is actually a rather unique ML, he's polygynous. (Actually, most Immortals are, I mean it's unrealistic to think you can only love one soul despite living through thousands, even millions of years of life)

Having lived many lifetimes, not all with her, he doesn't give a shit. To him sex is sex. What matters is souls connecting, that's where he gets a tad bit possessive, but he knows his limits and is realistic to the situation immortals face.

Right now, Luna is hurt and feeling betrayed by Alex's sudden violence after promising her the moon, he gave her dirt. To her that was him breaking up with her after falsely accusing her.

Then she hates Noah for letting Izzy down and never once felt responsible for his feelings towards Hannah, as it was Hannah, not her and she felt somewhat forced to 'put up with him' because of Hannah.

Lex feels like a life raft at sea to her. The only familiar soul she knows. Right now she just wants to make sure he stays by her side, feeling insecure and scared and having a deep need to do anything that would keep her child alive and safe.

Hope you don't mind me 'spoiling' things a little delving into the main character's Psyche, doing my best to ensure no actual spoilers, just lore.
