Chapter 1Prologue

Impassive agate-violet eyes – cold, emotionless and filled with disdain and bemusement – watch in boredom as the winged entity emerges from the debris of collapsed buildings that they were thrown at moments ago with a surge of energy.

The Angel’s form is coated with transparent amber aura, and from up there, the owner of the dual colored eyes could clearly see that the edges are tinted red. The Angel’s clothes have small cuts here and there, and their hair, raised up in a high ponytail, is in disarray. The winged entity has some bruises on their body, and their wings are ruffled and coated with little dirt here and there.

The owner of these eyes is currently hovering in the air, their dark-red-copper hair (which is home to two black streaks and a single white streak) that is pulled in an elegant French braid and tied at the near end with a gold colored ribbon, sways in the wind – their wavy-curly fringes dancing in the wind.

With a loud snarl, the Angel outstretches their right hand and a claymore materializes from tinted amber energy, hovering before them. The hilt of the sword is pink, while the blade of the sword is sliver; like the metal band on her bicep. They take hold of the hilt, eyes still focused on their enemy above. The Angel gives the sword a light swing before going after their opponent; their feet cracking the already damaged ground. In a span of mere seconds, they appear above their enemy, sword raised high up in the air with both hands and its blade coated with red hot aura.

The copper haired figure manages to move out of the way before the Angel brings down their sword at them with a shout. Amber energy tinted with violet comes out of their sword, impacting onto the ground below and causing it to break – shattering condemned buildings and bringing up dust.

The caramel skin figure appears afar off from where they were moments ago, eyes narrowed in irritation. They spare the earth below a glance, and the result of the Angel’s attack has their eerie eyes going wide.

It’s if a giant had used a hot knife to slice into the earth like butter. The place of impact has dust still wafting up into the air, along with red flames surrounding the long crater.

The caramel skin figure outstretches both of their arms, their black colored lips curling in a cool smirk as they regard the Angel before them. Two katanas materializes out of violet energy into their hands. They grip them, giving them a quick twirl before flying after the Angel. The Angel gives theirs a swing before flying towards their enemy.

Black and white blades meet sliver with a loud clang, their collision creating a shockwave in the air. Angel and mortal push against each other, neither giving into the pressure of the others.

The two engage in a dance of blades. Their attacks are so fast that a normal man wouldn’t keep up with them, much less able to see them. They both manage to get the best of each other.

Somewhere in the fight, the caramel skin woman had elongates the hilts of her katanas before joining both ends together, creating some sort of staff made out of swords.

Their clash is ferocious, as well as deadly. When they finally separate from each other, they are both breathing heavily.

Around them is more chaos, their surroundings battered and buildings leveled and turned into rubble.

The Angel has a huge cut on her chest, as well as on her cheeks and laps. Their wings have blood splatter on them, as well as small cuts and also missing some feathers. Their pristine appearance of an hour or so ago is now destroyed, frankly annoying them to no end.

The caramel skin figure too also has some mild injuries too; a long gash on their chest, some cuts on their laps and arms, as well as tiny cuts on their face. Thankfully, they’re healing, albeit slowly. But they can’t say the same for the Angel.

The Angel looks simply exhausted, and look as if they have just gone through a war. They’re breathing heavily, as well as wincing in pain.

The Angel’s eyes go wide when the mortal’s weapons morph into a big gun. Their body goes stiff when the mortal aims it at them, a dark gleeful look on their face – their agate-violet eyes glowing with power. The visible inner mouth of the gun shines a bright violet and the mortal fires a huge ray blast at them.

The Angel jumps out of the way, the violet beam hitting the ground. It creates a small crater before a small explosion occurs, creating a mushroom cloud.

It’s an attractive story to read due to the author’s sense of humor and mastery over the ambiance of the story. --------------- Another-style introduction: "On that day, a thick fog engulfed everything. On that day, he crossed the dense fog and faced a completely overturned and shattered world – the former order was completely gone, and peculiar phenomena dominated the endless seas beyond civilized society.
