New resolve

"She's free! Darcelle did it! She actually helped to free Monique from that man's house!" Blake exclaimed when he was done talking on his phone.

Laura heaved a sigh of relief and then spontaneously burst into tears. Blake ran over to where she sat on the couch and threw his arms around her. He laughed and cried at the same time.

When their relief and their tears had stopped Laura straightened herself and got up from the couch in a swift movement.

"Where is she now? When is she gonna be here? We should go and fetch her," Laura declared as she rushed into the hotel bedroom to get her handbag. She then stood in front of the mirror and combed out her tangled hair.

"We can't go anywhere. The police told us to stay here or we will have diplomatic trouble on top of everything," Blake responded in a low but firm tone of voice.

"My instinct tells me that we should get her before anything else happens. We have to start listening to our instincts, then we can't go wrong," Laura remarked as she walked to the bathroom to go and splash her face with water. She had little sleep so far and her face looked swollen and puffy.

"Maybe that's just your fear manifesting. We won because that girl couldn't carry on with her assignment of trying to please François.

So, Carminda and Jacqueline scared her enough to make her betray such a powerful man. I think he's still shocked that she had the guts to do it.

So, no matter what, he won't have the guts to try and abduct Monique again when the police are onto him," Blake explained.

"So, why isn't he arrested yet?" Laura asked, staring at Blake fiercely.

"I'm not saying that he isn't arrested yet. It's just that he won't try to ask someone else to do it because he's still in shock."

"Well, before he recovers from his shock, let's forget the movie idea and just go back home," Laura suggested with her arms crossed over her chest in determination.

"We signed contracts, remember. So, we need special permission to let everything go," Blake responded.

"We had no idea that the producer's enemy would abduct our child."

"I suppose one should keep an open mind about the unexpected things which can happen during a trip like this," Blake responded with a frown. He was just as concerned about their safety as Laura was, but he wanted to be reasonable. He didn't want to act out of his emotions.

"Oh, wait. Here's a message from Enrique," Blake stated as he looked at his phone which has just beeped. He read the message quickly.

"What is he saying? Tell him we want Monique here right away," Laura demanded.

Blake read the message and looked up with his eyebrows raised.

"He says that he knows that we're shaken up by this experience, but we shouldn't think about leaving."

"Oh? Is that it? Of course he won't want us to leave," Laura responded.

"He says we need to recover from the shock, so he's offering us a two week holiday at a resort in Italy," Blake stated.

Jacqueline and Adam were sitting in the study at her parents' home.

"So, you managed to assist long distance. That's very unusual. You're really good. You shouldn't let this opportunity go. You can go far.

Imagine if you meet Enrique and tell him about your skills and you help him," Adam remarked while he sipped on his drink.

"I don't know when I'm going on that trip, now that we had such an unexpected near disaster," Jacqueline responded.

"Well, don't think of it as a near disaster. Think about it as an opportunity to show what you're made of and you totally aced it. Well, you and Carminda," Adam responded.

"And Sheridan, of course. She came out of nowhere and really helped me."

"I wonder if she just came out of nowhere. What if she already knew about the kidnapping and Enrique before she ran into you?"

"No, that's a bit farfetched. Then how would she know exactly how to help me in a supernatural way with those beams against the wall which turned into a movie?" Jacqueline argued.

"I just feel that you shouldn't be gullible. Use your sixth sense to test people. Maybe she had it all prepared before meeting you."

"But, why would she want me to think that I was an exceptional psychic?"

"I'm not saying that she's wicked. I'm just thinking about all the scams out there. Maybe she actually wants something from you."

"Now you're making me nervous. I thought that I could read people's motives."

"When someone seems helpful out of the blue we think about fairy tales. Then we believe everything they say, because we believe that there are miracles everywhere," Adam responded.

"You mean that I should suspect her?"

"Not all the time, but don't trust her until she's proven herself to you. Ask questions about her background."

"Well, I actually didn't question her much," Jacqueline responded as she began to consider Adam's words.

"As long as you go to Europe and meet the producer after all. It's not as if he asked someone to abduct his actress' child," Adam commented with a smile.

"Are you ready to go to Europe?" Jacqueline asked with eyebrows raised in amusement.

"Definitely! But as part of your team. Then I'm sure to get a job there."

"So, then we should think carefully before we go. We need to get to know the languages and the people involved with the movie very well."

"It looks like you're ready to explore your gifts there, though," Adam remarked with a twinkle in his eyes as he studied Jacqueline's face.

"I think that Sheridan is for real though. I think that she can really help me.

There's something really deep about her," Jacqueline remarked in a serious tone.

"Then let's go and explore that university underground area and get to know Sheridan better. I would really like to get to see a place like that myself," Adam declared.
