Restless

"Go back to your home country." William sighed heavily, he should be happy to be back in the country where he was born but now he was feeling restless.

It had been eighteen years, during which time he had left his brother and lived with Jackson as him adopted son and changed the facts about himself and Mark.

Jackson made William his biological son while Mark was registered as his adopted son, so that Jackson could inherit from his father, a cold-hearted billionaire who died two years ago and in his entire life, he only knew William as his biological grandson because Jackson never showed Mark until his son was ten years old because Jackson and his father had a strained relationship earlier.

So far, Jackson has said that he takes care of his brother even though they have never met, even though Jackson is not a trustworthy man, but William foolishly followed whatever Jackson wanted, who always persuaded him and even threatened him with the excuse of his brother's safety and this morning the unexpected sentence Jackson never said to him finally came out.

"I have invested billions of dollars in the construction project of a real estate complex, a modern city downtown in the J city, and the construction was stopped because the construction permit was revoked by the government. For that..." Jackson turned and looked at William's face "... be governor there." he continued.

William of course flinched by what his adoptive father asked for.

"The election season will start in two months, you can register right away, I will take care of everything including arranging for you to enter an influential political party there."

"That sounds ridiculous." William commented, being governor just to launch his own project, how greedy Jackson was. William can't accept it, being a governor is a big responsibility where of course many layers of society will have high hopes for a governor to advance their province and become governor only for personal gain, it's very disgusting for William.

"I can't do it." Reject William firmly. Jackson took him away from his country a dozen years ago and he sent him back only to be a traitor, of course William refused. It would be better if Jackson scapegoated himself as usual and he would clear his name and launch Jackson's project but not be a traitor.

Jackson smiled meaningfully, as if he had guessed that William would definitely refuse.

"How about meet your brother?"

William raised his eyelashes, he turned his head in disbelief, a sentence he had never heard before because usually Jackson would only threaten him by saying if he refused then he would kill his biological sister but not this time.

"I won't stop you from looking for your brother and I won't stop you even if you want to meet him."

William's eyes were bloodshot, his heart was pumping fast, his longing for his brother that had been suppressed made him almost couldn't believe what Jackson had said, especially since Jackson had always monopolized himself all this time.

"Don't ever try to trick me." William threatened without hesitation, his eyes began to glow with anger, for a moment he was lulled by Jackson's persuasion but he again remembered how Jackson had always prevented him from finding out information about his brother's whereabouts.

Jackson destroys it, every evidence he gets from his messengers so that he has absolutely no idea what his biological brother looks like all this time, where he is and how he is, Jackson destroys it and threatens him every time.

"You know, I don't like lying." Jackson smiled again when the car he was in stopped, he turned back and said, "Be a governor and find your brother, an advantage for you, isn't it? Besides, I didn't ask you to be governor during the term, you just need to be governor until my project is finished." He said before getting out of the car.

Memories of a very sick morning.

William sighed heavily again, Jackson could always easily monopolize him and make him fall into the game Jackson was playing.

William was still pensive when he heard a knock on the door, a woman stepped in with a file in her hand. The woman who tied her blonde hair neatly, and dressed like a secretary in general, with a skirt that spans below the knee and white blues that wraps her body and looks polite but still shows her curves from the tight clothes she wears.

"This is a file from Mr. Jackson." Reported the woman named Lucy, the bright green eyed woman who had been his private secretary for almost five years.

"You can go now." William said after receiving the file.

Lucy nodded politely and hurried off.

"Lucy." William called before Lucy reached for the doorknob.

"Yes, Sir?"

"Can I meet Gwen today?" William asked, even though his mind was racing right now, he didn't forget the things that Mark had left for Gwen, for that he had to check Gwen's schedule because she couldn't be found randomly.

"I'll check Miss Gwen's schedule." Lucy answered before actually stepping out of William's spacious room filled with minimalist furniture and large glass windows that allowed him to see the city center from his room.

The sound of thumping music filled the room, the squeaking of shoes moving rapidly against the floor from Rose's dance moves.

It was almost morning, the sound of the clock ticking was no longer audible, covered by the sound of loud music echoing.

It's almost four o'clock in the morning, since last night, Rose hasn't stopped practicing even though she's alone now because all the back dancers have left a few hours ago. She couldn't stop dancing, her heart always pounded loudly when she rested for a while, every sentence Rayhan said when he proposed to her made Rose stutter because she was so happy.

Finally, after a long time they have been in a relationship of lovers secretly without confirming to the public about the rumors of their relationship, the time will come for the world to know the special relationship between them and Rose really can't wait for that time to come.

Rose's arms stretched out and twisted to the rhythm when someone grabbed her. Her body jerked and pulled into the arms of the man who pulled her.

Rose's eyes opened wide, she was so shocked that she realized that the man who pulled her was Rayhan, suddenly her surprised face turned into a smile.

"Why are you work so hard?" Rayhan asked, he deliberately didn't let go of Rose's body from his embrace and led her to dance with him.

"I want my concert to be perfect." The answer was a little breathless.

"You're having trouble breathing, do you want me to give you artificial respiration?" Rayhan's teasing, making Rose smile shyly and hiding her face behind Rayhan's chest, of course all of this made Rayhan excited and hugged Rose even tighter.

"I'm going to propose to you in front of your thousands of concertgoers. Do you mind?" Rayhan asked, Rose's body instantly froze, she lifted her face and looked at Rayhan in disbelief.

"How?" He asked again, of course Rose immediately shook her head quickly and said "I totally agree."

Rayhan then released Rose's body and led her to turn off the music and then sat leaning against a large glass wall.

Rose's head rested right on Rayhan's shoulder, while listening to a song that Rayhan had just finished.

I don't know how many tens of songs Rayhan made especially for Rose. Rose was his first love, he never glanced at other women besides Rose.

Before becoming a producer, Rayhan was also a superstar, they met at a charity concert stage and from there their love affair began and without realizing it had been five years they were together until they finally got married.

"Our relationship will end happily like a romantic drama. I can't wait for our wedding day." Rose said starting the conversation while looking at Rayhan's face who also smiled warmly at her while occasionally smoothing her messy hair, tucking behind her ear and touching her cheek warmly.

"Promise me that I'm the only man in your life."

"Is there another man who has filled my heart besides you and my Dad?"

Rayhan chuckled softly at Rose's answer.

"Sometimes I'm afraid you will leave me at the last moment, you know not if I only have you in this world. If you turn away then I will be completely alone." Rayhan's face darkened slightly, his eyes looked sad. Words alone always make Rayhan who is cheerful become sad like he is now.

"I will never turn away, I only love you." Rose answered, she smiled while holding Rayhan's hand warmly and then moved to hug him.

"I can't live without you Rose... I love you."

The more he loves Rose, the greater his fear, he is afraid that Rose will leave him just like his brother who left him, right on his birthday.
