"That's why we're soul mates..."

Rose was silent, there was a vibration that accompanied William's words so that something tugged at her heart.

Soul mate... They have been married since yesterday and does that mean they are soul mates?

Ten days ago William came to propose to her without any prior approach and now William has the status of her husband.

Is that what is called a soul mate? Even though she and Rayhan have been in love with each other for five years, it was as easy as turning the palm of their hand, their relationship just ended because William suddenly came and disturbed her.

"Why are you daydreaming so often now? I'd rather you be angry at me than lost in your thoughts." William said, his hand gently caressing Rose's warm cheek.

"Because all of this is very confusing and painful," Rose answered while removing William's hand from her face.

"I want to rest Will, Please don't disturb me." Said Rose, who suddenly became less enthusiastic, then lay down and turned her back to William.

William understood, understood that was the only way to avoid adding to Rose's sadness.

Without arguing, William stepped out of their room. Anyone would feel heartbroken if they were suddenly separated from a lover they had been with for a long time, likewise if their positions were reversed, if Gwen married another man, of course William would feel heartbroken.

But fate said otherwise, apart from Gwen there were Rose and Rayhan who had to be hurt because of their selfishness, William just wanted to meet his biological brother again.

I don't know where he is now, is he living well, is he growing well? How is it now? Everything is like a mysterious black box where William cannot find any clues about his brother's whereabouts.

Remembering his younger brother, he suddenly remembered Rayhan's condition. Rayhan and his younger brother seemed to be the same age. If only their meeting hadn't been as complicated as this, maybe William would have been nice to him.

William knocked on the door of Rayhan's room but there was no answer. William just wanted to give Rayhan a change of clothes, he knew that the man hadn't brought any other clothes apart from what he was wearing while Rayhan was sitting under the pouring rain.

William no longer knocked on Rayhan's door, Maybe Rayhan needed time alone but even so, William still couldn't feel calm.

"Ray..." William hadn't finished calling Rayhan when the door to his room opened as soon as he turned the doorknob.

The bedroom door was not locked, and the dark condition of the room made it difficult for William to see, While feeling around the wall, William turned on the light and it turned out that Rayhan was lying on the bed.

"Looks like he's asleep," William muttered to himself.

As he stepped closer and put his clothes on the table, William said, "Change your clothes or you'll get a fever." William said casually, he didn't want to sound like he cared about Rayhan, which Rayhan might interpret differently.

But Rayhan still didn't wake up.

"Don't blame me if you get sick," William said rushing away.

"Older brother..."

William's heartbeat seemed to stop, Rayhan mumbled and called his brother, his heart felt sad for a moment because his voice sounded like his brother used to call him when he was sick but William tried to ignore the familiar feeling and thought maybe Rayhan just missed his brother so he continued walking.

"Don't leave me..."

The sound of thunder seemed to greet Rayhan's ramblings. William could no longer ignore Rayhan, which made him miss his little brother even more.

"Brother... I miss you."

William saw Rayhan's tears streaming down the corners of his closed eyes. His face was pale and sweat covered his face and even dripped down his neck.

"Older brother..."

As if he was being called, William stretched out his hand to pat Rayhan's chest gently as if he were comforting him.

"I'm here..." William answered, his heart was touched, his eyes were hot, and Rayhan looked suffering, I don't know what he was dreaming about but all this made William think of his younger brother even more. Would his brother also call him longingly in his sleep?

"Don't go, don't leave me, please don't go..."

William's tears couldn't stop flowing, it was like they were being cut, his heart ached when he heard Rayhan's words.

"I'm here, calm down..." William said softly.

Slowly the tension on Rayhan's face loosened.

William didn't understand, he felt warm when Rayhan held his hand tightly like this as if he didn't want to lose it.

Rayhan may love Rose, but it was his brother who was present in his dream, which means his sister has a more special place. If only his younger brother missed him as much as Rayhan missed his older brother, William would immediately feel jealous.

Rayhan had a fever, and like an older brother caring for his younger sibling, William compressed Rayhan's forehead to reduce his body temperature. He also changed Rayhan's previous clothes, right after Rayhan went back to sleep peacefully.

Caring for Rayhan made him remember when he cared for his younger brother.

"You know it's raining but you're still playing football outside. Now you get hurts, I'm the one who's in trouble!" chirped little William as he compressed his feverish brother's forehead.

"Yes, there's no need to look after me. When I die I can meet my dad and mom in heaven and only you will be left alone, brother!" Said his younger brother, who was still talkative even when he had a fever.

"You have the heart to leave me alone?"

"Because you don't want to take care of me."

"Hey, how am I not taking care of you enough? How many times have you been sick this year and I always do this boring thing? Compressing your forehead is very tedious." William protested as he put the cold towel back on his younger brother's forehead.

"That's a big brother's job."

"Then what is your job? To make me worry?"

"Are you worried about me?"

"No..." William said lying, he was sorry because his little brother would feel like he was flying because William indirectly said that he loved his little brother.

"Earlier I heard you say something like 'It makes me anxious'."

"I didn't say anything like that, what are you worrying about!"

"Hey, I'm not deaf, you're worried, aren't you? You're worried about me, isn't it true that you love me more..."

"Of course, I'm your big brother you idiot!"

William couldn't help but smile, remembering that he and his younger brother always fought about everything, but even so, they loved each other.

It was that affection that made William unable to forget his younger brother, Even when Jackson hypnotized him to forget all his memories with his younger sibling, even though he still remember his younger sibling's face and every memory they had, William couldn't remember his name, even William himself forgot his original name before Jackson gave him the name William Alexander.

"Is it so fun to see me sick?"

William turned to Rayhan, who had woken up without realizing it.

"Is that how you thank someone who took care of you when you had a fever?" William asked as he put the cold towel back on Rayhan's forehead.

"I didn't ask you to take care of me!"

"I know but I don't want to add ghosts to this mansion because I didn't take care of you when you were sick."

"I won't die that easily, I will get Rose back."

"Then you have to pay attention to your health. I don't like fighting weak people." William said as he got up.

"Eat the porridge while it's warm and don't miss the medicine." William continued when he was at the door.

Rayhan turned towards the bowl of porridge which was still steaming with a glass of water and some fever-reducing medicine.

"Make sure you take the medicine because I don't want to do that boring thing again, compressing your forehead is very tiring!" William said before disappearing behind the closed door.

"I don't want to do that boring thing anymore, Compressing your forehead is very tiring." Why is that sentence the same as what his brother always said when he was sick?
